Join a dynamic team of scientists, engineers, and technicians dedicated to advancing the design of analog and digitally controlled power converters. As a Power Electronics Engineer, you will transform theoretical concepts into practical power conversion products, providing technical leadership in this innovative domain.
Responsibilities
+ Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop state-of-the-art power converters.
+ Lead the development of new power conversion products from concept to reality.
+ Design, troubleshoot, and validate active power converters and motor control products for aerospace applications, focusing on 115VAC, 400 Hz to 28-800VDC, 1kW-20kW, 1 and 3-phase systems.
+ Design and troubleshoot DC-DC power converters ranging from 0.8V to 800V and 100W to 20kW.
+ Develop schematics and oversee PCB layouts.
+ Engage in system integration to create specifications and develop test scenarios.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in power electronics and hardware design.
+ Experience in power system engineering and DC-DC conversion.
+ Knowledge of ZCS converters and military standards.
+ Proficiency in PCB design using software like OrCAD and PlsCADD.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of three years related experience, or a relevant degree with five years of related work experience.
+ Experience with DFX and aerospace standards (e.g., DO160).
+ Visionary mindset with a long-term focus on team and organizational success.
+ Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and influence others.

+ Practical experience in design and thermal management techniques for electronics packaging designs (enclosures and/or racks) with rigorous size, weight, and power (SWaP) requirements.
+ Direct experience with printed circuit board (PCB) designs. Can support tasks not directly mechanical such as component selection and layout to ensure mechanical environmental considerations are met.
+ Can apply and interpret Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5.
+ Knowledge of military standards such as MIL-STD-810, RTCA DO-160, and MIL-STD-1472.
+ Experience working with standard form factor industry standards such as EIA-310, ATR, or VITA.
+ Hands-on experience designing products that contain internal RF emissions or high power wiring.
+ Hands-on experience designing to meet and qualifying products for rugged environments such as those with electromagnetic interference (EMI), electromagnetic pulse (EMP), and nuclear exposure.
+ Familiar with thermal and structural Finite Element Analysis (FEA) best practices. (Ansys)
+ Working knowledge of Agile development methods for hardware.
+ Either familiar with or preferably experienced with Control Account Management (CAM) and earned value techniques.
+ Experience with rapid prototyping process methods, such as 3D printing, for mid-stream design verifications.

As an Electrical Engineer, you'll lead the design and coordination of electrical systems that power the spaces where people live, learn, work, and heal. You'll work with a collaborative team on projects from concept through construction, and you'll play a key role in mentoring staff, engaging with clients, and delivering innovative solutions that drive sustainability and performance.
**What You'll Do**
+ Design electrical systems: power distribution, lighting, emergency power, UPS, fire alarms, security, communications, and renewable energy systems.
+ Participate in all project phases from design and documentation to bidding, construction, and commissioning.
+ Collaborate with clients, architects, and engineers to ensure seamless integration and code compliance.
+ Review submittals, conduct site visits, and support construction administration.
**What You Bring**
+ Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Architectural Engineering.
+ 3+ years of experience in MEP design (Healthcare, K-12, Higher Ed, or Commercial projects preferred).
+ EIT certification
+ Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and applicable design software.
+ Strong knowledge of NEC, energy codes, ANSI/TIA, BICSI, and electrical design standards.
+ Excellent communication, leadership, and time management skills.

CMTA, a Legence company, is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer with ten or more years of experience in Consulting Engineering. This candidate must have a strong and innovative technical background in Electrical Engineering. This position will work with a team of engineers and other consultants/design team members to design the electrical aspects of energy efficient buildings for various clients as well as complex infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate is a leader and is self-motivated individual who thrives on helping our team and clients be successful.
The position is responsible for designing and overseeing the electrical systems, power distribution, lighting and lighting controls, emergency power, UPS, renewable energy systems, fire alarm system, low-voltage systems/coordination (IT, safety, security, access control), etc. all for the purpose of bidding and construction for various projects. This candidate will be involved and lead all phases of the project. We are seeking candidates who have proven experience with project management and business development as well.
**Required Experience:**
+ 10+ years of experience
+ PE License in Texas
+ Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
+ Experience with Revit/AutoCAD
+ Experience in MEP Design and Specifications
+ Experience with managing, maintaining and creating Owner and Architect relationships
+ Experience with Healthcare, Higher Education, K-12 and Commercial sectors
**Additional duties of the position are as follows and not limited to:**
+ Lead and guide design and construction projects internally within the office and externally with clients.
+ Attend meetings with owners, clients, or architects. Lead and guide meetings as needed.
+ Provides guidance to staff engineers as to the appropriate energy efficient designs to be implemented in various projects.
+ Provide feedback to design engineers on client problems and needs.
+ Confer with other engineers and other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information.
+ Evaluate, select and apply engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform assigned tasks.
+ Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications.
+ Read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
+ Research and analyze customer design proposals specification, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications.
+ Research, design, and evaluate products, equipment, systems, and processes to meet requirements, apply knowledge of engineering principles.
+ Application of energy efficient lighting selection, design and implementation.
+ Review contractor submittals (shop drawings, etc.) to determine conformance with contract documents.
