Email Marketing & Automation Specialist

Responsibilities
  • Email Strategy & Execution: Develop and manage a global email marketing calendar for the U.S. and EU markets. Plan and execute high-impact campaigns that drive engagement, leads, and customer retention.
  • Project Management: Own timelines and workback schedules for asset collection, coding, testing, QA, and deployment. Ensure all campaigns are delivered on time and aligned with brand standards.
  • Email Development & Testing: Build and code responsive emails using HTML within Pardot. QA and mobile test all emails to ensure optimal performance across devices and platforms.
  • Audience Segmentation & List Management: Collaborate with the digital team and sales to build and maintain automated segmented lists. Manage list hygiene, including opt-outs and bounce backs.
  • Performance Tracking & Optimization: Monitor KPIs to evaluate campaign effectiveness. Provide regular reporting and insights to inform strategy and improve performance through A/B testing and best practices.
  • Creative Collaboration: Work closely with the Studio, Flexjet's in-house design team, to concept and refine email layouts that align with brand guidelines and campaign goals.
  • Customer Lifecycle Engagement: Research customer behavior and lifecycle stages to identify the most effective email touchpoints. Develop strategies to nurture leads and increase retention.
  • Cross-Functional Support: Support internal and external communications across Flexjet and sister brands within the Directional Aviation portfolio. Collaborate with Business Development and other departments to align messaging and goals.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Preferred Bachelor's degree in Marketing or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in email marketing, including drip and nurture campaigns.
  • 3+ years of experience in working with marketing automation platforms such as Marketing Cloud Account Engagement and Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
  • Proficient in HTML, CSS, and dynamic scripting.
  • Experience with Pardot, Salesforce, and email testing tools. (or equivalent)
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing strategies and customer lifecycle engagement.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.

Position Summary

The Email Marketing Automation Specialist plays a key role on the Online Engagement Team within University Marketing and Communications. This person develops, implements, and optimizes advanced email marketing campaigns to Support Fordham Universitys enrollment goals and to attract the next generation of Fordham students.

This role requires a strong grasp of marketing automation principles and expert technical skills with Slate CRM . As part of an integrated, cross-functional marketing team supporting enrollment, the specialist will use Slates features, like personalized communication journeys and audience segmentation, to guide prospective students through Fordhams recruitment funnel and continuously improve strategies for maximum conversion

Essential Functions

Strategy & Planning:

Collaborate with the AVP for Enrollment Marketing and University Admissions leadership to develop comprehensive email marketing strategies aligned with institutional recruitment goals.

Map out complex communication journeys within Slate, considering various prospect segments, stages of the enrollment funnel, and program interests. Stay current with email marketing best practices, industry trends, and Slate updates to ensure innovative and effective campaign execution.

Campaign Development & Execution:

Design, build, and deploy a high volume of automated and ad-hoc email campaigns, including drip campaigns, newsletters, event invitations, and personalized communications, primarily within Slate.

Develop and manage Slate Liquid Markup for dynamic content, personalization, and conditional logic within emails.

Create and manage custom Slate queries, rules, and events to segment audiences accurately and trigger appropriate communications.

Ensure all email communications adhere to brand guidelines, accessibility standards, and CAN - SPAM regulations.

Develop and implement A/B testing strategies for subject lines, content, calls-to-action, and send times to optimize performance.

Slate Expertise & Management:

Serve as a primary expert user of Slate for email marketing automation, including but not limited to: deliverability, deliver, campaigns, forms, queries, rules, and portals.

Manage and maintain email templates, ensuring consistency and effectiveness across all communications. Collaborate with Slate administrators and the Office of Information Technology to ensure data integrity and seamless integration with other systems. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to email deployment and tracking within Slate.

Reporting & Optimization:

Monitor, analyze, and report on key email marketing metrics (e.g., open rates, click-through rates, conversion rates, deliverability) using Slates reporting tools and other analytics platforms. Provide regular insights and recommendations to optimize campaign performance and improve ROI . Conduct audience segmentation analysis to identify opportunities for more targeted and personalized communications.

Collaboration & Communication:

Work closely with content creators, graphic designers, and other marketing team members to ensure the timely delivery of assets for campaigns.

Collaborate with admissions counselors and other stakeholders to understand communication needs and incorporate feedback. Communicate campaign performance and insights effectively to various stakeholders.

Essential Job Functions

· Strategize, plan, and manage the day-to-day content of all email marketing initiatives that contribute to the overall communications goal and positively maintain the companys brand

· Build and execute email campaigns, including list building, segmentation analysis, browser and testing and email publishing

· Develop, execute, and analyze email automation and workflows for various branch and department needs

· Develop, execute, and analyze A/B testing for optimal email performance

· Monitor and drive email campaign targets reporting and tracking processes, along with testing methodologies and results reporting

· Audit the creative for all emails to ensure link and landing page accuracy as well as proper tracking parameters etc.; providing creative direction and hands-on execution when needed

· Regularly report on campaign and lifecycle marketing program performance to Marketing Managers

· Prepare reports, presentations, and general updates as often as needed to audiences of varying technical expertise and levels of responsibility

· Determine target audience, devise campaign, and launch email campaign to create buzz or generate leads for the business
