+ Prepares, files, and submits various reports as required.
+ Inspects posts as scheduled and meets with subordinates to outline tasks and responsibilities.
+ Meets with client representatives as scheduled or as needed to provide assurance that all security requirements are being met and to provide quality customer service.
+ As assigned, in accordance with applicable company policies and procedures and in compliance with state and federal laws, carries out supervisory duties that can include some or all of the following: interviewing, orienting and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; coaching and appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems; and, making hiring and termination recommendations.
+ May perform the duties of a Security Officer in accord with post orders and company policy.
**Education/Experience:** High School Diploma or G.E.D. and 2 years of related experience, or an an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job, as determined by the company. Minimum 2 years of experience in retail preferred.

**Job Summary and Qualifications**
Responsible for communications into and within the hospital by use of the telephone switchboard, pagers, public address systems, and internal radio communications. Primary focus of the job is to respond quickly and courteously to all incoming calls, route these calls to the proper extension, and properly respond to procedures for emergency codes. Internal communications includes, but not limited to, the following departments: Maintenance, Shuttle, after hour Courier, Valet and Material Management services. + Training can be flexible based on availability, but ideally you will train on all shifts - 1 to 2 weeks on a day shift, 1 to 2 weeks on a swing shift, and 1 week or so on a night shift, so some flexibility is needed initially for training.
+ Our shifts are 7am - 3pm, 8am - 4pm, 11am - 7pm, 3pm - 11pm, and 11pm - 7am.
**Minimum Qualifications** **:**
+ High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
+ Dispatch and/or hospital experience preferred.

+ You will serve as a liaison between the hospital and the public by providing information and assurance of routing calls to the appropriate departments or areas as needed.
+ In this role, you will remain calm and organized under all types of situations. All duties are performed in a way that promotes a team concept and reflects the mission of the Saint Alphonsus Health System.
+ You will monitor and document the following:oAll life safety equipment for SAHS and dispatches appropriate responders as necessary.oCritical life plant functions and life safety functions per procedure and notifies appropriate responders timely and accurately.oSecurity cameras and panic alarms for RHMs and SAMG and dispatches appropriate responders. oFor PharmaWatch per regional contract to respond with the appropriate policy based on alert notification.
+ An ideal candidate will have strong teamwork, communication, and critical thinking skills, has a strong understanding of following written instructions and procedures, and is open to constructive feedback.
**Work Schedule** **:**
+ This position will work PRN/on-call for a variety of shifts.
+ Our shifts are offered 7 days a week and are: 7am - 3pm, 8am - 4pm, 11am - 7pm, 3pm - 11pm, and 11pm - 7am.
**Orientation and Training** **:**
The orientation for Dispatch Operators is typically 5 weeks. Your first week will be general orientation and system training. Training can be flexible based on availability, but ideally you will train on all shifts - 1 to 2 weeks on a day shift, 1 to 2 weeks on a swing shift, and 1 week or so on a night shift, so some flexibility is needed initially for training. Our shifts are 7am - 3pm, 8am - 4pm, 11am - 7pm, 3pm - 11pm, and 11pm - 7am.
**Minimum Qualifications** **:**
+ High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
+ Dispatch and/or hospital experience preferred.

Our client, a vital public safety organization, is seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Dispatch Manager to oversee their emergency services dispatch operations in Durham, North Carolina, US . This role offers a hybrid work model, allowing for a blend of on-site leadership and remote coordination. You will be responsible for managing dispatchers, optimizing communication systems, and ensuring the efficient and effective response to emergency calls. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in public safety communications management and a strong commitment to service excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise, train, and evaluate the performance of a team of emergency dispatchers.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce dispatch protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Monitor call volume, unit deployment, and resource allocation to ensure optimal response times.
  • Manage and maintain dispatch communication systems, including CAD (Computer-Aided Dispatch), radio systems, and associated technologies.
  • Coordinate with various emergency response agencies (police, fire, EMS) to facilitate seamless information flow.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to emergency communications.
  • Develop and implement quality assurance programs for dispatch operations.
  • Analyze dispatch data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and training needs.
  • Manage scheduling and staffing to ensure 24/7 coverage.
  • Respond to and manage critical incidents, providing leadership and support to dispatch personnel.
  • Foster a positive and supportive work environment for the dispatch team.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Public Administration, Emergency Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in emergency services dispatch, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
  • In-depth knowledge of 911 systems, CAD software, and radio communication technologies.
  • Proven ability to manage and motivate a team in a high-pressure environment.
  • Strong understanding of emergency response protocols and public safety operations.
  • Excellent decision-making, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
  • Proficiency in relevant software applications.
  • Experience in developing and delivering training programs.
  • Certifications such as EMD (Emergency Medical Dispatch) or EPD (Emergency Police Dispatch) are a significant plus.
