Requirements
  • 2-3 years of safety experience in construction or related industry.

  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record, as the role will require travel to various sites on a regular basis; A company safety vehicle will be provided as part of this position.

  • Ability to navigate and resolve conflict effectively.

What We’re Looking For: Safety Coordinator
  • Experience:  3-6 years in a safety-related role, preferably in a machine shop or metal manufacturing setting.  Experience conducting safety training – LOTO, fall safety, etc.  Experience administering third-party pre-qualification sites.
  • Knowledge:  Familiarity with OSHA 29 CFR 1910 General Industry regulations, NFPA 70E standards, and ANSI guidelines
  • Skills:  Strong communication abilities to conduct training and present complex information effectively
  • Attributes:  Analytical mindset, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to safety
  • Requirements:  Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and the flexibility to travel as needed

  • Work with Senior Director of operations and HR to create, implement, and monitor the plant safety goals annually for the completion of annual performance evaluations.
  • Provide continuous improvement through critical thinking and innovative problem solving.
  • Effectively communicate and collaborate with other departments.

Requirements

  • Represent the facility for ISO 14000 Environmental Management compliance.
  • Review plans and specifications for new machinery/equipment to ensure safety precautions are incorporated prior to production.
  • Conduct plant tours to inspect fire/safety equipment, machinery, and facilities to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance.
  • Provide or coordinate safety and first aid training to educate employees on policies, laws, and safe practices.
  • Investigate workplace accidents to minimize recurrence and prepare detailed reports.
  • Coordinate air quality testing for OSHA compliance.
  • Provide support to the Assistant HR Manager as needed.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in a related field from a four-year college or university, OR 2–4 years of relevant experience/training in Environmental, Health & Safety (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Extensive First Aid Training (e.g., First Responder, CPR, etc.).

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site Safety Coordinator role located in Manvel, TX. The Safety Coordinator will be responsible for Health & Safety, Environment Health and Safety (EHS), Occupational Health, Safety Training, and Accident Investigation duties to ensure a safe work environment.

Qualifications

  • Promote the Angler Construction safety culture and core value.
  • Ensures contractor activities are preplanned for safety through scope review, preconstruction meetings, JHA review, STAs, etc.
  • Ensures contractors meet safety documentation and submittal requirements.
  • Ensures contractor compliance with Angler Construction safety plan & expectations.
  • Maintains all safety-related documentation.
  • Capable of identifying known potential exposures and recommending corrective action. 
  • Makes recommendations concerning situations hazardous to employee safety or health.
  • Utilize Procore to audit and monitor project team implementation of the safety plan.
  • Performs daily safety inspections.
  • Provides safety training to project teams on Angler Construction, client, and OSHA requirements
  • Investigates all accidents/near misses and completes all paperwork required
  • Ensures project teams have safety equipment, PPE, and resources.
  • Serves as project liaison and manages project correspondence with insurance carriers.
  • Maintains all safety-related documentation.
  • Coaches and mentors less experienced team members.
  • Supports a positive and inclusive work environment—Be a Coach, NOT a Cop!
  • Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Ability to effectively communicate and maintain a harmonious relationship with corporate team members, project team members, clients, design partners, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers. 
  • Proficient knowledge of construction safety principles, techniques, and methods. 
  • Practical knowledge of OSHA laws, regulations, and policies. 
  • Highly focused and can proactively troubleshoot and resolve issues by making critical decisions based on sound principles that are in line with the company’s best interest, policies, procedures, standards, etc.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to effectively, as well as accurately, execute all responsibilities independently in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Strong planning, organizational, and execution skills. 
  • Ability to comprehend complex technical topics and specialized information. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety Management or Engineering. 
  • 5+ years of Safety Coordinator/Manager Experience
  • Working knowledge of the Procore project management software. 
  • OSHA30 Required and OSHA 500 preferred
