Job Description

Become an Energy Delivery & Distribution, Specialist at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you'll act as a key support to the scheduling, execution and completion of all work flowing through the district.
Key Focus of Role
+ Work Allocation: Partner with Resource Management Sr. Advisors to determine the proper execution resource for all Distribution programs/projects (Compliance, Programmatic, New Business, Poles, etc.) based on District/Region crew capacity and senior Distribution leadership tenets.
+ Work Bundling: Use the Scope Mapping Tool (SMT), Master Integrated Work Plan (MIWP), and other systems of record, as well as ongoing conversations with Districts, Regions, Distribution Project Management (DPM), and Contractor Operations (C Ops), to bundle work by Work Order, PIF, Circuit, and other factors to enhance the goals of performing the work by the safest, most efficient, and most affordable means available.
+ Collaboration Meetings: On a regular and ongoing basis, meet with key representatives from the Districts, Regions, DPM, C Ops, and other collaborators to address concerns and challenges, answer questions, and understand resource needs and constraints to better inform resource allocation decisions.
+ Data Accuracy: Identify and resolve problems with the data or processes used for decision-making, engage internal and external collaborators to make timely updates to internal models or systems of record, and perform weekly QA/QC functions to ensure high levels of quality and accuracy of data.
+ Tools and Processes: Become a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the tools and processes used by the Resource Management and Work Allocation (RM&WA) team, including SMT, MIWP, SAP, ClickSchedule, and Microsoft Excel.

**Responsibilities**
+ Monitor resource utilization data for pattern analysis and to ensure efficient use of resources.
+ Collaborate with various stakeholders to gather resource requirements and develop resource plans.
+ Participate in capacity planning activities to assess future resource demands.
+ Provide support to resource planning initiatives through analysis, identification of best practices and procedures, and utilization of resource management and business planning technical standards, principles, and techniques.
+ A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical financial and cybersecurity assets and properly accessing and managing private customer data proprietary information confidential medical records and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.
**Minimum Qualifications**
+ Three or more years of experience performing resource management and/or business planning.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Two or more years of experience coordinating with construction crew schedulers.
+ Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
+ One or more years of experience working within key systems of record such as Click, SAP, Work It, Arc GIS, or SAS.
+ Experience and proficiency with navigating and identifying key information within SAP.
+ Experience and proficiency with navigating and identifying key information within ClickSchedule.
+ Experience analyzing data and large data sets from a variety of sources.

In this role, youll be a key contributor to Jobys energy storage and distribution system software team. This system is responsible for safely powering the aircraft, managing high-voltage systems, and providing real-time state-of-charge and state-of-health estimates to the pilot and control system. You will focus on developing, testing, and deploying software for this system. Since this software includes both C++ and model-based elements and must meet stringent safety requirements, all code must comply with DO-178C standards. You will work closely with systems engineering and software teams to ensure robust and reliable performance. Apply if you're excited about writing modern code for commercial aerospace systems.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for designing and implementing the embedded C++ software that runs on our electric-powered, fly-by-wire aircraft. Youll also collaborate with systems engineers and hardware designers to author software requirements and integrate complex systems. You will be involved in all facets of our software design and development.

  • Develop, test, and optimize embedded software for battery management systems (BMS).
  • Work with cross-functional teams to define and refine battery system requirements and operational constraints.
  • Collaborate with Jobys broader software team to ensure BMS software meets DO-178C certification standards through rigorous documentation, testing, and compliance verification.
  • Participate in code reviews, debugging, and continuous software improvements.
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related STEM field with 5+ years of industry experience.
  • Expert knowledge of C++ and object-oriented programming and methodology.
  • Proficiency in C and or Python
  • Experience developing embedded software for real-time operating systems (RTOS) and debugging embedded systems.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Experience with version control (Git) and collaborative software development workflows.
Desired
  • 8+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Understanding of Li-ion batteries and experience developing software for battery management systems
  • Familiarity with DO-178C.
  • Familiarity with high-voltage systems and power electronics.
  • Experience with Linux-based development environments.
  • Knowledge of networking protocols such as Ethernet/UDP.

Additional Information

Compensation at Joby is a combination of base pay and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). The target base pay for this position is

$102,400 - $172,600/yr. The compensation package will be determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
