**POSITION SUMMARY**
The Design Engineer II performs complex calculations, drawings and specifications related to HVAC, plumbing or other systems.

You will drive engineering change by creating new and revised engineering documents, managing product certifications, supporting product modifications, and by providing technical support to Operations, Procurement, and other departments within Pressure Management.
AS A DESIGN ENGINEER II, YOU WILL:
+ Initiate, review, approve, and maintain primary engineering documents including drawings, specifications, test procedures, operating/maintenance manuals, and bills of material for the company's product lines
+ Provide complete product engineering functions for product lines to ensure continuity of product from design through manufacturing stages. This includes product development and testing support, material specification creation, and quality assurance assistance
+ Create, review, approve, and implement Engineering Change Requests/Notifications (ECRNs)
+ Oversee design and drafting activities, ensure layouts, drawings, and documentation are prepared in accordance with company procedures and industry standards and regulations
+ Provide technical support to other departments, global teams, and suppliers with respect to application and custom design variations, quality processes, inquiries pertaining to product performance and construction, material specifications and deviations, part tolerance deviations, and manufacturing issues
+ Ensure that the Tulsa Quality System is applied to all functions of job responsibility, and assist in managing, coordinating ongoing changes, and continuously developing the quality system from an Engineering perspective
+ Identify and lead product improvement opportunities with collaboration from within the Engineering team and from communication with cross functional groups (Marketing, Quality, Procurement, Operations, etc.) to meet deliverables, e.g., safety, quality, product performance, cost requirements, schedule, etc.
+ Work with cross functional groups to implement designs into global production and ensure thorough implementation by updating Bill of Materials (BOM), drawings, marketing communications, engineering/manufacturing procedures, inventory transition, 3rd party approvals, etc.
+ Record and document all necessary engineering calculations completed to verify product improvement project designs
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
+ Bachelor Degree in Engineering
+ 3+ years of engineering experience required
+ GD&T and drafting knowledge and functional experience (i.e. ASME Y14.5)
+ Familiarity on using, interpreting, and searching for relevant standards

**What you'll do:**
+ Performs more complex calculations, drawings and specifications related to HVAC, plumbing, fire protection or other systems. Performs more complex calculations for a project, such as heating/cooling loads, equipment selection and sizing, friction loss calculations, hydraulic calculations, etc.
+ Prepares preliminary redline design layouts for estimating.
+ Manages a single phase of a project.

**What you'll need to be successful:**

+ Ability to read mechanical and plumbing plans.
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Your Impact

  • Configure and design variations of current products to meet customer order requirements.
  • Develop and document repeatable design procedures to ensure consistency, quality, and efficiency across product configurations.
  • Supply accurate bills of materials (BOMs) to support farmers, customer service, manufacturing, and assembly.
  • Create 3-D models and manufacturing/assembly drawings using Creo software.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand the Voice of the Customer and align designs with product requirements and cost targets.
  • Analyze and identify risks related to customer needs, manufacturability, and project timelines.
  • Perform design calculations and simulations to ensure product robustness and reliability.
  • Coordinate and execute testing on concept and prototype builds to validate performance and safety.
  • Apply knowledge gained from prior product development efforts to guide new product introduction (NPI), continuous improvement, and field issue resolution.

Your Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or agricultural engineering or a related technical field.
  • Five to ten years of experience in design or product engineering, sheet metal production, machining, and assembly.
  • Mechanical and technical aptitude with the ability to deliver innovative products.
  • Solid modeling proficiency and understanding of mechanical design best practices, including experience with design documentation and structured development processes.
  • A track record of contributing to or leading product development efforts, from concept through production release.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Azure DevOps, PowerPoint, and Excel).
  • Creo and Windchill experience.
  • Experience of airflow / ventilation a plus.

Your Compensation and Benefits

Position Summary:

The Packaging Design Engineer II is primarily responsible for defining, developing, and designing packaging for medical devices. Owns efforts in developing solutions to packaging class II and class III medical products by translating requirements from the customer into realized designs. Key Responsibilities:

* Owns the design and development of medical device packaging through:
* Transformation of internal and external customer inputs and requirements into results
* Developing packaging design specifications
* Generate 3D models and engineering drawings utilizing Solidworks
* Working with internal and external sources to create concepts and prove function
* Planning and leading test methods, design verification and validation activities


* Host design reviews with internal and external stakeholders
* Manage workload to support various projects
* Creates product designs and specifications for medical device packaging that meet customer and regulatory requirements.
* Maintain compliance to procedures and regulatory requirements
* Provides regular status updates to management and/or customer
* Plans, prepares, and leads test methods, design verification protocols; and supports the execution of packaging validations.
* Writes/updates work instructions, specifications, verification protocols, and various technical documents
* Comfortable operating and supporting a variety of equipment including but not limited to; computers, label printing software and printers, sterile packaging tray and pouch sealers, as well as an array of test equipment.

Must Have:

* A Bachelors degree (STEM engineering discipline preferred) and 2 years of experience required; or a combination of education and relevant work experience.
* Experience in an engineering environment with mechanical, tool design, and manufacturing processes (medical device preferred).
* Use of mechanical design (SolidWorks, PTC or other), statistical analysis (MatLab, MiniTab or other)
* Knowledgeable in ISO, ASTM, ISTA standards and test methods related to packaging
* Experience with terminally sterilized package design, materials, sealing methods, operating room procedures and sterilization methods.
* FDA, cGMP, GDP principles and practices, (ISO 9001, ISO 13485)

  • Help create 3D models under engineer guide.

  • Communicating with production departments to determine requirements.

Technical Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of 3D mechanical software, preferably Pro/Engineer or Solidworks.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills .
  • Good attuide and team worker
  • At least one year of intense CAD usage. Familiarity with dimensioning, scaling, and typical CAD standards preferable.
  • Requires knowledge of Windows operating system, Microsoft Office applications, Outlook, Excel, Word and computer-aided drafting applications
  • Detail-oriented with an eye towards automation.
  • Organized and able to multi-task and meet deadlines.
  • Works well in a fast paced work environment
