**RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Serve as the Technical Lead and manage teams of Consultants for one or more commercial projects to ensure effective negotiations, well-aligned solution-delivery-to-plan, clear engagement governance accountabilities, profitability, and overall client satisfaction.
+ Enrich client partnering and anticipate client needs based on a solid understanding of emerging industry requirements and/or technological breakthroughs in Technology Consulting including Agile Methodologies, DevOps Automation, Enterprise Software Applications, and Large-scale distributed systems.
+ Ensures the appropriate alignment and collaboration of consulting teams and individuals to support project requirements and activities in the focus area and within larger Cognizant and client ecosystems including Collaboration & Influence, Cross-functional teamwork, Organizational transformation, Technology Strategic design, and Strategic division.

+ Advocate for and establish appropriate recognition for Consulting within projects and negotiate applicable consultant rates in project sizing that correspond to the value Consultants contribute to engagements.
+ Develop and manage the capture, communication, and sharing of intellectual property (IP) and project artifacts for a focus area, domain area, or practice management area.
+ Exercise leadership in the development of Consulting service offerings.
+ Support and contribute to the establishment of thought leadership in the industry, to promote Cognizant's brand and to drive additional opportunities for Cognizant.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
+ Demonstrates thought leadership, e.g.: Guides/upskill other engineers and clients in cloud best practices; demonstrate expertise with automation and infrastructure as code (IaC).
+ Deep understanding of AWS, Azure, and/or GCP and how to leverage them (certifications a plus).
+ Past enterprise level experience in DevOps, Software, Infrastructure or Site Reliability Engineering.
+ Proficient in infrastructure as code practices using technologies such as CDK, KPT, Terraform, Chef, Puppet, AWS CloudFormation, and/or SaltStack.
+ Proficient in one or more enterprise scale observability tools such as Splunk, Datadog, FluentD, ELK.
+ Ability to document solutions, cloud architectural patterns, and best practices to ensure that clients have guidance as needed.
+ Proven ability to partner with cloud hyperscale partners to define and troubleshoot cloud architectures and service enablements.
+ Experience maintaining and improving the reliability of applications and infrastructure.
+ Hands on experience developing and improving all phases of the software development/delivery lifecycle.
+ Experience building CI/CD pipelines from scratch.
+ Strong grasp of container technology including container orchestration with tools such as Kubernetes, Rancher, Docker Swarm, Nomad or similar.
+ Solid understanding of Microservices and API.
+ Eager to problem solve and troubleshoot issues that may arise day to day.
**WORK AUTHORIZATION**

**SALARY AND OTHRE COMPENSATION**
The annual salary for this position is between **$122,400 - $194,000** depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.

Verus is looking for a self-motivated, organized and results-driven leader to join our close-knit leadership team. Our clients are important to us and we need someone who enjoys a good challenge, is accountable, well organized and takes pride in leading people.
The General Manager is accountable for leading and managing the development, operations, and financial aspects of a specific office. Additional accountabilities include business development, successful delivery of projects, financial performance, budgeting, reporting, developing of staff, and cooperation between other offices and functional departments.
As the General Manager, you will be involved in leading solutions for Verus customers in a wide variety of applications. This includes ensuring that projects are executed in a consistent manner and in alignment with company strategies and goals.

Responsibilities
The responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Project Delivery
- Ensure the successful delivery of projects by working across projects, in collaboration with Project Managers and Project Engineers as required, and providing high level expertise and guidance
- Alongside the Project Manager, create and execute project work plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
- Provide technical expert advice on designs, engineering processes or other unique or unconventional methods
- Perform technical project reviews and provide the project team with documented results and suggested corrective action plan
- Conceive, develop, and layout system architectures for assigned projects that satisfy customer requirements
- Effectively apply Verus methodology and enforce project standards
- Implement and enforce compliance with the Verus Business Management System (BMS), including managing corrective actions.
- Identify, document, and implement opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Maintain adequate facilities to support project delivery and forecasted growth.
- Continually seek opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen client relationships.
- Build a knowledge base of each client's business, organization, and objectives.
- Develop the project scope for new opportunities based on understanding clients' business and operational needs.
- Prepare and approve proposals and estimates for projects.
- Assist in the development of the project estimate, including negotiation.
- Achieve the annual sales goal as a key contributor to business development efforts.
- Define and communicate task and performance expectations for direct reports, monitor performance against the requirements, and take action where appropriate.
- Coach direct reports on leadership skills as well as business plan development and business performance issues. Formulate and implement individual development plans with direct reports.

- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited university.
- 10 to 12 years' proven automation and engineering experience with an engineering consulting firm. Prefer 5 years in a lead position.
- Proven experience leading design teams within a multi discipline engineering.
- A proven track record of successfully managing simultaneous projects.
- Enhanced knowledge of Integration and Programming such as; PLC programming, DCS configuration and programming, RTU programming, HMI/SCADA programming, Configuration of bus networks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience preparing proposals and delivering presentations.
- The ability to create and share a sense of direction, give clear direction to individuals and teams, and willingness to coach and mentor others to build business capability for the future.
- Understanding of Financial Reports and project budgets.

Responsibilities:
- Responsible for configuring routers, switches, firewalls, and managing security in a multi-manufacturer environment.
- Manage networking equipment, Windows/Linux servers, databases, VMware, and security hardware/software.
- Work with a network consisting of local and geographically dispersed LAN enclaves connected by WAN links.
- Part of a team that builds, maintains, and enhances a large, complex set of geographically distributed IT systems.
- Plan and design network components/configurations to ensure hardware/software resources enable system monitoring and management.

- Streamlining network operations across internal and operational systems.
- Monitor and analyze mission-critical networks and servers.

Additional responsibilities include:
- Provide network administration support for development, deployment, and problem identification and remediation of the enterprise network environment.
- Plan and implement IT/network enhancements and undertake project work.
- Monitor and correct network issues.
- Communicate with users and publish status of any system outages, as needed.
- Provide timely and professional support in response to calls and emails.
- Participate in the creation and ongoing maintenance of network documentation ensuring that clear, concise, and accurate information is readily available to assist with incident resolution.
- Provide enterprise network support, working closely with the IT service provider teams to ensure customer requirements are considered and supported by the evolving LAN/WAN architecture.
- Provide technical assistance to companion work groups in support of overlapping projects and maintain good inter-departmental relations.
- Execute the process for managing information assurance vulnerability alerts (IAVAs) and system security scanning for equipment suites in accordance with the System Security Plans for these systems in order to rapidly and accurately identify and remediate IAVAs.
- Initiate IAVA responses and system security scans, completing remediation, extending IAVA patches and security updates to designated sites, and execute monthly security scans.
- Provide analysis on existing network and server configurations and develop plans for system enhancements.
- Examine system data and implement enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
- Plan and manage system installations and upgrades for networks and servers (hardware and software).
- Propose, design, test, and install capabilities that are new to the environment.
- Assess the impact of system changes to the team and to the infrastructure.
- Provide written and in-person status to leadership.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of technical data such as rack elevations, installation instructions, and other as built designs.
- Respond to system network, operations, and maintenance problems while off duty, on an on-call basis.
- Some travel required (<10%).
Skills/Must have:
- FSP Clearance (Through the NSA)
- 10 years of experience
- Must have experience providing analysis, root cause diagnosis, and trouble-
- shooting for routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Experience with hardware/software from Cisco Systems.
- Must have experience with various vendor networking products (switches, routers, firewalls, etc.).
- Experience providing direct assistance to users.
- Possess strong analytic abilities and must be meticulous in their work.
- Have excellent written and communication skills.
- Must be committed to adopting and adhering to best practices including compliance with maintenance windows and change control procedures.
- Be a self-starter capable of working proficiently independently as well as within a team.
- Be able to support limited instances of providing after-hours support for network administration, operations, and maintenance problems.

The General Manager is accountable for leading and managing the development, operations, and financial aspects of a specific office. Additional accountabilities include business development, successful delivery of projects, financial performance, budgeting, reporting, developing of staff, and cooperation between other offices and functional departments. As the General Manager, you will be involved in leading solutions for Verus customers in a wide variety of applications. This includes ensuring that projects are executed in a consistent manner and in alignment with company strategies and goals. RESPONSIBILITIES:
The responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Project Delivery:
- Ensure the successful delivery of projects by working across projects, in collaboration with Project Managers and Project Engineers as required, and providing high level expertise and guidance
- Alongside the Project Manager, create and execute project work plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
- Provide technical expert advice on designs, engineering processes or other unique or unconventional methods
- Perform technical project reviews and provide the project team with documented results and suggested corrective action plan
- Conceive, develop, and layout system architectures for assigned projects that satisfy customer requirements
Operations:
- Effectively apply Verus methodology and enforce project standards
- Implement and enforce compliance with the Verus Business Management System (BMS), including managing corrective actions.
- Identify, document, and implement opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Maintain adequate facilities to support project delivery and forecasted growth.
Clients / Business Development:
- Continually seek opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen client relationships.
- Build a knowledge base of each client's business, organization, and objectives.
- Develop the project scope for new opportunities based on understanding clients' business and operational needs.
- Prepare and approve proposals and estimates for projects.
- Assist in the development of the project estimate, including negotiation.
- Achieve the annual sales goal as a key contributor to business development efforts.
People:
- Define and communicate task and performance expectations for direct reports, monitor performance against the requirements, and take action where appropriate.
- Coach direct reports on leadership skills as well as business plan development and business performance issues. Formulate and implement individual development plans with direct reports.
- Develop skills capability within the client facing / service groups to ensure sustainability and succession planning of key roles.
- Promote initiatives aimed at attraction, retention and development of team personnel.
- Provide leadership and role modeling based on the behavioral requirements of our business.
- Foster collaboration and knowledge sharing across all Verus offices
Financial / Business Plan:
- Manage the performance of the office to agreed strategies, budget, and in compliance with agreed policies, procedures, and commitments.
- Manage the P&L to maximize revenue, gross margin, and net profit.
- Develop a business plan for the office, which aligns with and facilitates the achievement of the overall Verus business strategy. Communicate the plan to create alignment and engagement.
- Complete the business planning cycle, including monthly re-forecasting, with the development of budgets, and operational plans.
- Ensure that people are assigned to the business in a way that ensures that they are able to create the most value and maximize utilization of resources.

The salary range for this role is 124,000 USD - 250,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
