About the role
Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, this pivotal position leads the maintenance team in upholding exceptional standards for equipment and facility upkeep. Key responsibilities

Compensation Data

Your Role: Director, Engineering & Maintenance

The Engineering Director oversees engineering and maintenance, ensuring cost-effective and timely services while managing the site's capital plan. This role supervises engineering and maintenance staff across various disciplines (process, automation, reliability, projects, facilities), focusing on staff productivity, development, and ensuring compliant equipment and systems for manufacturing. As a site lead team member, the Director collaborates across functions to support the technical agenda, business plan, strategic planning, and compliance objectives.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Safety and Leadership:  Champion a safety-first culture and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams (Operations, QA/QC, Regulatory, Supply Chain, Finance, HSE, etc.). Participate in leadership meetings, reviews, and business planning. Lead and support site and community engagement.

  • Personnel Management:  Oversee engineering staff, including coaching, performance reviews, development plans, recruitment, resource allocation, and succession planning. Identify training needs and develop team skill sets. Support the security function of the site.

• Direct department activities to design new products, modify existing designs, improve production techniques, and develop test procedures.

• Maintain a working knowledge of new technologies, which may improve operations, and develops recommendations accordingly.

• Maintain a working knowledge of safety policies and regulations to ensure duties of self and others are performed in a safe manner.

What Experience and Education You Need :

• High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED).

• Completion of all eight (8) RETA courses.

• HAZMAT certification.

• Five to eight years in warehouse maintenance management experience.

• 3 years general supervisory/management experience

• Requires the ability to successfully complete the requirements of the Americold Certified Maintenance Manager program within 6 (six) months of start date of employment

Manage the daily maintenance activities in a warehouse. Plan and coordinate activities of refrigeration, maintenance and forklift associates. Maintain safe, effective and functional facilities by directing installation, maintenance, and repair of machines, tools, equipment, and utility systems for refrigerated warehouse.

• Identifies current and future maintenance requirements.

• Achieves financial objectives by preparing an annual maintenance budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.

• Ensures operations productivity by determining work priorities and scheduling repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment.

• Designs, implements, and modifies preventive maintenance programs by reviewing production, quality control, and maintenance reports and statistics; inspecting operating machines, equipment, and systems for conformance with operational standards.

• Complies with all OSHA regulations and PSM requirements.

• Ensures compliance with mechanical, electrical and all other municipal and state codes.

• Resolves maintenance problems.

• Protects employees and visitors by maintaining a safe and clean working environment.

• Completes maintenance operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees. Ensures work results.

Job Description

You perform highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain the property’s facilities and equipment to ensure a safe and functional environment for the guests.

  • Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
  • Ensure the overall maintenance of the of the facility
  • Respond to guest room calls for general maintenance issues
  • Act as a member of the Emergency Response Team, responding in cases of fire, accident, safety concerns and calls for medical assistance
  • Light plumbing, electrical, guest door lock repair
  • Correct and report any fire hazards or health and safety hazards
  • Maintain all actions in a Daily Activity Maintenance logs
  • Assist guests regarding hotel facilities in an informative and helpful way
  • Follow department policies, procedures and service standards
  • Follow all safety policies 
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a Maintenance role required
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Window applications not required but helpful
  • Must have electrical, plumbing and basic maintenance skills
  • Must be able to read, write, speak English fluently
  • Adhere to Fairmont Scottsdale Princess Grooming Guidelines. 
  • Relevant building maintenance experience is an asset
  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
  • Highly responsible & reliable
