- JOB SUMMARY
As part of a matrix organization within the Global Engineering team, responsible for delivery of cross category engineering and technology projects, to include work on elaboration, implementation and execution of technical projects (including product projects when required). Offer ongoing Engineering support to factories within the GSC manufacturing footprint with special emphasis on Americas region.
Using Engineering best practice to transfer product ideation to validated concepts, industrialize & drive continuous improvement in manufacturing processes and product quality, supporting GSC's manufacturing footprint and leveraging learnings and best practice from site to site.
- WHAT YOU WILL DO

+ Managing of engineering projects from concept to installation and handover This includes client and supplier liaison, specification generation and approval, budget control, effective time management, etc
+ Planning and coordination of projects across geographically diverse IB locations. This may include coordination and management of contractors as well as factory-based resources
+ Determines project schedule by studying project plan and specifications, calculating time requirements, and sequencing project elements
+ Confirms product performance by designing and authoring test protocols and execution of testing
+ Support with global initiatives such as Spare parts mgmt., machine obsolescence mgmt., ESG, etc
+ Identify areas of opportunity across the GSC manufacturing footprint, prepare proposals and manage the execution/delivery of those projects when approved
+ Maintains project schedule by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities, and resolving problems
+ Controls project plan by reviewing design, specifications, and plan, scheduling changes, and recommending actions
+ Controls project costs by approving expenditures and administering contractor contracts

**Qualifications**
- REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
+ Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and 3+ years related work experience.

The Engineering Technologist Ill position is the third level of the non-Engineer degreed technical support role. An Engineering Technologist Ill provides technical expertise to solve more complex problems and leadership skills to provide oversight and direction of work in a specific area of expertise, with some supervision. Employees in the Engineering Technologist Il l position are expected to develop advanced skills and the ability to work with a high degree of independence.

The Senior Engineering Technologist position is the fourth level of the non-Engineering degreed technical support role. The Senior Engineering Technologist provides technical expertise to solve more complex problems, and leadership skills to manage work in a specific area of expertise, with minimal supervision. Employees in the Senior Engineering Technologist position are expected to develop advanced skills and work independently with increased latitude for un-reviewed work.

Required/Basic Qualifications

Engineering Technologist lll

  • Either 3+ years of relevant industry experience coupled with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology (or equivalent), or 5+ years of experience and Associate Degree in Engineering Technology (or equivalent), or 9+ years equivalent experience without a degree.

  • Valid driver's license

Sr Engineering Technologist

  • Either 6+ years of relevant industry experience coupled with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology (or equivalent), or 8+ years of experience and Associate Degree in Engineering Technology (or equivalent), or 12+ years equivalent experience without a degree.

  • Valid driver's license

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology

  • In addition to desired degree, 5 plus years related work experience

  • Thorough knowledge of principles and practices of electrical power engineering

  • Familiarity with evaluating existing infrastructure and upgrading as needed to support customer development

  • Experience with three phase design, layout, and material selection for medium voltage power distribution systems

  • AutoCAD experience

  • Ability to ensure compliance with internal design standards and specifications

  • Requires high customer interaction and excellent communication

  • Ability to complete cost estimates and revenue calculations

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Proficiency with MS Office applications

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • Good written and oral communication skills.

  • Experience in the utility industry.

  • Able to effectively apply basic principles of project management.

  • Ability to deal with a variety of individuals from various socio-economic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds.

  • Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills.

Working Conditions

  • Hybrid Mobility Classification – Work will be performed from both remote and onsite locations after the onboarding period. However, hybrid employees should live within a reasonable daily commute to a Duke Energy facility.

We are seeking an experienced engineering leader to oversee the development of proposals, feasibility studies, and front-end engineering deliverables for large-scale industrial projects. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the preparation of technical and commercial proposals, feasibility studies, and preliminary engineering packages for industrial capital projects.

  • Collaborate with sales, engineering, project controls, and operations to define project scope, execution strategies, schedules, and budgets.

  • Review client specifications, technical requirements, and contract terms to ensure alignment with company capabilities and risk tolerance.

  • Provide leadership in front-end design (pre-engineering), including process flow diagrams, general arrangements, and equipment specifications.

  • Manage multidisciplinary engineering input (process, mechanical, electrical, civil, controls) to ensure comprehensive proposals.

  • Develop standardized tools and methodologies for estimating, risk evaluation, and proposal development.

  • Mentor and guide junior engineers and proposal staff, ensuring strong technical rigor and commercial awareness.

  • Present proposals and findings to senior leadership and clients as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, or related discipline preferred); advanced degree or MBA a plus.

  • 10+ years of engineering and project execution experience, with at least 35 years in proposals, estimating, or front-end project development.

  • Strong background in industrial capital projects (metals, chemicals, energy, or heavy manufacturing preferred).

  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and deliver high-quality technical and commercial packages under deadlines.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interface effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

What You'll Do

We are seeking an experienced engineering leader to direct the technical approach and execution for a main internal project in the Fortnite ecosystem. They will be responsible for driving several engineering teams to be capable of meeting any technical challenge that may arise, curating the staffing levels across the various engineering specializations, providing critical technical insight and feedback, and supporting project planning from the engineering perspective. They will align project technical decisions to lead the project engineering team from the idea to a successful live online multiplayer game.

What we're looking for

  • Experience in shipping AAA titles across multiple platforms
  • Experience with the unique challenges of creating and maintaining large-scale, live, online multiplayer games, with a focus on advanced networking, real-time physics, and dynamic, interoperating services
  • Advanced C++ skills and experience with scripting languages, low-level debugging, and optimization
  • Impeccable problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience collaborating with and managing relationships with both internal teams and external partners.
  • Deep expertise in the product lifecycle for games, such as generating detailed technical requirements, assembling capable teams, executing said requirements, and building robust support systems to manage them
  • Architecting and building solutions in multiple areas of expertise Gameplay, Graphics, Audio, UI, Networking, and Physics
  • Passionate about personal development, taking advantage of opportunities to continuously improve
  • Bachelor's degree in CS or other relevant technical field, 7+ years of game industry experience in an engineering role, and 3+ years in technical leadership roles, across multiple project/hardware cycles, desired
