ABOUT THE ROLE:

A member of the Access Center team, the Problem Solving Specialist is able to offer problem-solving (also known as "Diversion" or "Rapid Resolution") services, which is a crisis response philosophy and approach focused on supporting youth experiencing a housing crisis to quickly identify and access alternative housing resources outside of the homeless crisis response system. By practicing active listening skills through creative conversations, the Problem Solving Specialist supports the youth in crisis to identify viable temporary or permanent housing resources within their own networks or resources, such as family or friends. In select cases and as a last resort, limited and one-time financial assistance can enhance an individual or family's success in rapidly connecting to alternative temporary or permanent housing.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Utilize culturally-relevant active listening and motivational interviewing skills with participants to identify possible supports in their network that can assist them with temporary or permanent housing outside of the Youth Coordinated Entry System (YCES)
  • Deliver both field- and place-based supportive services, as appropriate, to participants
  • Acquire resources and make successful referrals, including follow-up to ensure the participant successfully accesses and initially retains housing
  • Identify safety or health issues that may need to be considered during identification of housing
  • Provide mediation between households and property owners/family/friends to assist in resolving housing crisis
  • Partner with legal service providers to resolve housing crises
  • Negotiate terms of agreements between participants and host as appropriate (e.g. actively seek employment, attend to medical/mental health/substance abuse issues, complete household chores weekly, etc.)
  • Ensure services are documented (e.g. face to face, phone and collateral contacts) in all relevant databases in a timely and thorough manner
  • Assist in budgeting with participants, and determine what level of minimal assistance is necessary to be successfully housed or have housing crisis resolved
  • Facilitate access to YCES for participants, as appropriate, including the completion of the Initial Triage and Initial Assessment phases of system access and assessment
  • For participants gaining entry into CES, provide a warm handoff to sustained case management services where possible, or provide initial case management for up to 60 days upon the participant gaining CES access
  • Attend trainings and participate in regular technical assistance such as learning collaboratives
  • Other duties as assigned to support the mission of the organization
Requirements

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology or related field is preferred , but not required.
  • 1-2 years of experience in case management, counseling or related experience is required .
  • 2+ years experience providing direct services to high-risk youth including counseling and advocacy is required .
  • 1+ years' experience working in a drop-in center, access center, or access point is preferred .
  • Knowledge and experience working with co-occurring populations (chronic health conditions, mental health and substance abuse) is preferred .
  • Cultural Humility and Responsiveness.
  • Best practice models including: Housing First, Positive Youth Development, Authentic Youth Engagement, Motivational Interviewing, Harm Reduction, Trauma-Informed Care, Critical Time Intervention preferred
  • Self-Starter skill set, requiring the ability to develop relationships, build rapport and trust with members, community partners, volunteers, and staff.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including organizational, detail and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to uphold Access Center policy and procedure with members, staff, volunteers, and community partners
  • Ability to work effectively with people of diverse races, ethnicities, sexual orientations, and gender identities in a multicultural environment.
  • Works cooperatively with individuals, groups and organizations with diverse mission, composition, function, capacity and geographic location.
  • Understanding of homeless services including CES and HMIS database.
  • Strong understanding of LA County foster care and juvenile justice systems, including foster care placement options, participant rights and eligibility, and discharge planning processes preferred.
  • Strong belief in growth mindset, self-determination, and psychological resilience.
  • Must have valid CA Driver's License, proof of insurance, and a clean driving record
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Changes in the environment, such as the office or outdoors.
  • Physical effort/lifting, such as sedentary- up to 15-20 pounds at times.

Digital Manufacturing Engineering (DME) is part of the Corporate Engineering Tech Center (ETC). The ETC is a technical resource for training, standards, project implementation, and the center of engineering excellence for the corporation, providing deeply technical resources to solve the most intractable technical problems in manufacturing. DME provides business ownership of Digital Engineering Platforms, OT data integration solutions, engineering data standardization/ownership, digital manufacturing solutions, and leads OT Data Integrity and Cyber Security initiatives and standards globally for Lilly Manufacturing. Our team focuses on connecting our facilities (securely) and leveraging the data from those facilities to deliver digital manufacturing solutions to improve manufacturing productivity, data integrity / compliance, quality, and operational excellence. Digital Manufacturing Technologies include digital twins, computational modeling, edge/IoT, and analytics solutions.

Responsibilities

The Associate Director Digital Engineering Solutions position, within the ETC Digital Manufacturing Engineering team, has overall responsibility for supervision, safety, performance, and development of direct-reporting employees. The team typically consists of 8-12 Lilly engineers plus additional external contingent workers, mainly focused on digital engineering solutions (computational modeling, analytics, digital twins, digitized engineering business processes, etc.). This role will manage and monitor business results, compliance, productivity improvement, and overall customer service for the team, while streamlining processes, prioritizing work, and supporting the overall DME strategy.

The Associate Director role will provide discipline leadership in technology development, knowledge sharing, mentoring of junior talent, as well as provide technical leadership to sites, support major project delivery, support key initiatives led by the tech center, collaborate with Lillys MQ IT organization and network with external benchmarking communities. This role will be a member of ETC DME lead team.

Key Objectives/Deliverables

  • Lead HR processes, including performance management, compensation management, reward and recognition, talent assessment, promotion, recruiting, and succession planning. Coach and develop team members.
  • Support and lead diversity initiatives.
  • Support DME team strategy, business planning, and team building activities.
  • Digital Manufacturing Engineering Discipline and Technical Leadership Partner with peer groups and manufacturing sites on solution assessments, reuse/replication opportunities, and concept development. Manage tools, engineering standards, master specifications and best practices.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in engineering or related science field

  • Previous supervisory experience or technical leadership

Actual compensation will depend on a candidates education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is

$118,500 - $73,800

The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Data Engineering Solutions Specialist to join our growing Data Engineering team. This is a role that combines hands-on data engineering with client data analysis project management providing APAC Time Zone Support. You will play a critical part in renovating Python-based data workflows to ensure timely, high-quality delivery of survey-based analytical insights.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both building with data and communicating with internal team members globally and locally, and is comfortable owning data analysis and Python coding deliverables end-to-end.

Specific Responsibilities Include

Technical Execution

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize Python scripts for survey data ingestion, transformation, and analysis.
  • Support the development of new Python-based data pipelines from legacy system during the transition phase.
  • Work with internal teams globally and locally to troubleshoot and improve data pipelines, queries, and storage logic.
  • Ensure data accuracy, reproducibility, and compliance across all processing stages.
  • Assist in automating repetitive tasks and contributing to the tooling used in survey data reporting and delivery.
  • Integrate within Global Data Processing workflows as part of core company strategy
  • Leverage existing internal global processes to ensure proper documentation and communication with global engineering team

Project Engineering Management

  • Work with internal teams globally and locally to manage data engineering projects through to fruition
  • Gather, clarify, and manage internal requirements, ensuring both near-term needs and longer-term expectations (aligned with new Python-based pipeline capabilities) are met.
  • Proactively manage expectation gaps by communicating limitations and upcoming enhancements in the evolving data pipeline
  • Play a key role in shaping future Python-based data delivery solutions by analyzing client needs and feeding requirements into development planning.
  • Collaborate closely with the Data Science team to swiftly execute the transition from legacy Excel-based deliverables to the new standardized delivery outputs via Python
  • Coordinate project timelines, delivery schedules, and feedback loops across internal stakeholders
  • Maintain clear documentation and communication throughout the full lifecycle of each project.
  • Coordinate tasks efficiently across a global team, managing collaboration across multiple time zones.

Please note that this role reports into a global function and is part of a non-APAC based team. As such, team meetings are often in time zones that correspond to US and EMEA based working hours. Attendance at team meetings is important.

Professional Qualifications Required

  • At least 4 years of experience coding in Python and full competency, especially for data manipulation (e.g., pandas, NumPy).
  • At least 4 years of hands-on experience and full competency with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, Redshift), including query performance optimization.
  • 25 years of experience in a data analyst, data engineer, or technical project coordination role
  • Strong understanding of statistical analysis and common survey data structures.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple concurrent stakeholder relationships.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially in translating technical topics for non-technical audiences.
  • Willingness and interest in working for a global company and being part of a global Data Engineering team
  • Nice to Have
    • Familiarity with survey data analysis
    • Working knowledge of AWS (Redshift, S3, etc.) and Jupyter Notebook.
    • Experience working in a client-facing environment.
    • Exposure to BI/reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI) or custom data delivery formats.

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate's education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is
$118,500 - $173,800

Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
