AECOM is seeking a highly motivated Geotechnical Civil Engineer to support mine tailings, geotechnical, and heavy civil infrastructure projects as part of the mining group to telecommute for our Denver, CO. office.
**Job Summary/ Responsibilities:**
+ Performs specific portions of broader projects under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
+ Planning, implementing, and overseeing geotechnical exploration programs (30% travel/field time)
+ Developing geotechnical laboratory testing assignments
+ Performing geotechnical evaluations including material characterization, liquefaction, seepage, slope stability, and settlement analyses
+ Preparing calculation packages
+ Assisting with the development of geotechnical reports, drawings and specifications
+ Preparing and presenting technical presentations of evaluation results to internal team
+ Review of geotechnical instrumentation and preparation of instrumentation monitoring reports
**Qualifications**
**Minimum Requirements**
+ BA/BS + 2 yrs of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
+ EIT Certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
+ Valid U.S. Driver's License
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ MA/MS Civil Engineering with Geotechnical Emphasis
+ 4+ years of relevant experience
+ Basic Knowledge of industry software such as GeoStudio, Utexas, Grapher and AutoCAD Civil3D
+ Field/Construction experience; tailings or dams experience a plus
+ Familiarity with design reports, drawings and specifications
+ Excellent Verbal and written communication skills
+ Demonstrate proactive problem-solving skills
