**As a Talen Energy Intern, You Will:**

**Internship Roles and Responsibilities:** Interns will support various Engineering activities (Nuclear, Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical) at the Susquehanna Steam Electric Station. Project assignments will vary by department and may involve tasks such as:
+ **Nuclear Engineering:**
+ Perform nuclear fuel management analysis.
+ Develop performance indicators for nuclear risk assessment.
+ Create parameter displays for the plant process computer system.
+ Automate the development of Control Rod Movement Sheets.
+ **Mechanical and Electrical Engineering:**
+ Assist with plant modifications and engineering work requests.
+ Conduct calculations, analysis, and specifications supporting plant upgrades.
+ Update plant electrical system analysis to incorporate change mechanisms and optimize system capabilities.
+ Generate user interface pages for monitoring equipment performance.
+ **Thermal Performance and Project Management:**
+ Participate in a "Missing Megawatts and Thermal Performance" project, including steam system walkdowns and the use of thermal monitoring software.

**Basic Qualifications:**
+ Enrolled in an accredited college or university program as an undergraduate or graduate student in Engineering.
+ Must be a full-time student (minimum 12 semester hours).
+ Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
+ Must be 18 years of age or older and able to provide an official transcript and other required documentation.

Manages engineering activities to develop or improve technical products, systems, or processes that meet specified requirements and standards. **Internship Roles and Responsibilities:** Interns will support various Engineering activities (Nuclear, Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical) at the Susquehanna Steam Electric Station. Project assignments will vary by department and may involve tasks such as:
+ **Nuclear Engineering:**
+ Perform nuclear fuel management analysis.
+ Develop performance indicators for nuclear risk assessment.
+ Create parameter displays for the plant process computer system.
+ Automate the development of Control Rod Movement Sheets.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 3+ cumulative years of experience with industrial, municipal, or commercial engineering including but not limited to the following sectors: data centers, power generation, oil/gas facilities. (Experienced Engineer)
• Must have a valid US driver's license and reliable personal transportation by start date.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Direct experience with the design, construction, operation, or maintenance of mission critical facilities, especially data centers.
2. Experience as resident engineer or hands-on (in the field) design consultant or owner’s engineer.
3. Experience reading and interpreting, construction drawings, specifications, submittal documents, and applicable building codes.
4. Ability to carry design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment/mass production
5. Basic understanding of both mechanical and/or electrical equipment/design related to data centers (Including but not limited to: uninterruptable power sources, diesel generators, electrical switchgear, power distribution units, variable frequency drives, automatic/static transfer switches, chillers (air-cooled and water-cooled), pumps, cooling towers, heat exchangers, CRAHs, fans, air economizers, water treatment, etc.)
6. Possess data analytics skills, data querying skills/language, scripting, and comfort with working in vast amounts of data in new and evolving environments
7. Possess experience/knowledge in water chemistry and conventional/membrane water treatment technologies for industrial applications
8. EPMS/SCADA/BMS Controls system experience (software and/or hardware)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $105,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
