We are seeking a Mechanical Engineering Manager to lead our Design Engineering group-a high-impact role focused on technical leadership, team development, and delivering mission-critical systems with precision and reliability.

Success Criteria:
As an Engineering Manager, you will be directly responsible for the oversight and success of project engineering activities at Jered. Your leadership will shape the engineering team's ability to deliver innovative, high-quality products that meet performance, budgetary, and schedule objectives. Success in this role requires effective supervision of the engineering team, active collaboration with cross-functional departments (especially Program Management), and strategic delegation of assignments to maximize utilization and support active projects. Your ability to drive process improvements, lead team and individual development, and serve as a key technical liaison for customers and subcontractors will be essential in this role. Your impact will be seen in enhanced team performance, improved product quality, and strong technical execution across programs.

• Bachelor's degree in engineering required; PE license is a plus.
• Minimum of 10 years of engineering leadership experience related to electro-mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical equipment design.
• Proven experience leading project-based engineering organizations with strong system engineering understanding; knowledge of controls and software engineering is a major plus.
• Strong mechanical design background and demonstrated success in project or program management.
• Skilled in external communications, including building customer relationships and negotiating technical terms such as intellectual property.
• Demonstrated success in leading, developing, and mentoring engineering teams.
• Strong organizational, planning, and communication skills.
• Familiarity with managing subcontract engineering resources and departmental budgets.
• Experience supporting quality and process improvement initiatives and driving new product development.

Description:

• Education and Experience for an Engineer, Engineer Associate or Engineering Representative position: Engineer and Engineering Associate:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (From ABET Accredited School)

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Technology

• Bachelor's Degree in Math or Science

• Professional Engineer's License (PE) in lieu of the above bachelor's degree

• Previous Distribution Engineering Experience is a plus

• Distribution and or related Engineering experience with a power utility company is a plus Engineering Representative

• Experience in Utility industry or related field

• 2- 4 year degree from Accredited School a plus

• Previous Distribution Engineering Experience is a plus

• Distribution and or related Engineering experience with a power utility company is a plus

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :

• Proficient with MS office products and other related engineering Software systems highly desired.

• Strong Technical Engineering Skills and understanding of Power Systems are highly desired

• Candidate should possess knowledge of general engineering and construction principles.

• Knowledge of electrical system operations, distribution systems, underground and overhead construction practices.

• Prior experience in writing and executing switching orders preferred.

• Working knowledge of ARMS, JETS/JETS Scheduling, Designer/GIS, CSS, Socket, DistView, TCMS Web, NJUNS, EDEN, OUA, and OFS preferred

• Knowledge of the Franchise Manual, Distribution Bulletins, Engineering Handbook/Specifications, Distribution Operating Procedures, ARC Flash Requirements, Metering Blue Book, Consistency Manual and the Financial and Business goals preferred

• Ability to prioritize and organize work to manage multiple projects and meet strict deadlines.

• Excellent project management skills that lead to desired results.

• Ability to work with customers and others as a team member.

• Must be able to effectively communicate and build positive relationships with customers, engineers, customer service, sales, corporate partners and line crew personnel.

• Effective oral and written communication skills.

• Good Attitude and Ability to provide excellent customer service both internally and externally

• Working knowledge of NESC.

• Must have valid driver's license. PPE will be a hard hat, safety glasses, steel toed boots, traffic vest, etc.
