This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere in the US, while serving projects predominantly in the Grand Rapids, Michigan, US region and surrounding areas. A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution is required. A Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly desirable. A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in civil engineering project management, with a strong emphasis on infrastructure projects (e.g., transportation, water resources, land development), is essential. Proven experience managing projects remotely and leading distributed teams is mandatory. Expertise in project management methodologies, scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project), and contract administration is crucial. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical information clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences, are a must. The ideal candidate is a results-oriented leader with a strong commitment to quality, safety, and client satisfaction.

This role will guide a land development project through collaboration with a group of civil engineers, land planners, landscape architects, and CAD designers as well as some civil site design for land development projects.

• Perform field and/or laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials (e.g. soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel).
• Communicate with project manager, engineering technicians, client representative, contractor's representative and others as applicable regarding the construction site, project requirements, and testing, observation, and inspection requirements and results.
• Transport material samples with associated identifying documentation to the laboratory for further testing and analysis.
• Tabulate, prepare, and submit data and observation in the form of written and digital reports as work is performed for daily transmittal to the Weaver Project Manager.
• Maintain and clean equipment, vehicles and work areas.
• Adhere to strict safety standards.
• Under close supervision of higher level technicians or staff professionals, assist on tasks and perform basic testing and observations duties.
• Provideclear documentation of findings and results.
• Communicates information to Project Manager and discusses accuracy of data in preparation for submittal.
• Submitdocumentation and communicateresults as directed by the Project Manager.
• Will be placed in a progressively increased role of training and responsibility in work assignments.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma.
• At least 6 months of relevant experience in CQA and/or field based positions.

Summary:

Provide engineering support to drive continuous improvement and meet daily production objectives. Complete projects, activities and initiatives that impact the achievement of OEE and Yield targets. The Engineering Technician role is a hands-on position that, especially outside of business hours, will be expected to work rather independently to accomplish its projects and tasks, while knowing when and how to escalate.

Responsibilities:

• Drive troubleshooting and problem-solving activities when equipment breakdowns occur
• Collect and analyze data, inspect products and processes, conduct tests, assist with research and development, and record results
• Provide advanced training to Tech II's and III's, including but not limited to developing troubleshooting training guides
• Create, update, and maintain Work Instructions, Work Standards, PFMEAs, Control Plans, PFDs (Troubleshooting Guide), Quality Alerts, Change Orders, OPL (One Point Lessons), and Visual Standards
• Follow 4M changes
• Lead line change-overs, verify proper function and quality is met
• Confirm line parameters match standards
• Initiate and foster cooperation/communication within and between departments and shifts

• Work on continuous process improvements to ensure the line is operating at its designed level
• Run queries to troubleshoot issues and keep machines running properly

• Help develop methods and devices used in the prevention and control of the process

• Participate and successfully complete all training requirements
• Lead the FPI (First Production Inspection) process and documentation
• Quality issue monitoring, root cause finding, and corrective action implementation
• Monitor the SPC system and verify the flags
• Monitor RMS (Recipe Management System), response flags, and verify the machine settings on time
• Manage the hold material (tracking, reviewing, inputting, reflecting to yield)
• Maintain cleanliness at the work-site in accordance with 5S3R Standards:

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required; Vocational Certificate or Associates Degree preferred or equivalent, relevant experience
