**Job Description**
Teledyne Qioptiq is currently seeking an energetic and results driven **Electrical Engineer Intern** to join our Electrical Design Team at our Miamisburg, Ohio site. The Electrical Engineering Intern will be responsible for assisting others in the conceptual and detail design of Electronic Safe and Arm Devices (ESADs) and Ignition Safety Devices (ISDs) for missile programs.
**Responsibilities** :
+ Assisting members of the technical staff to generate designs and support development activities for Electronic Safe and Arm Devices (ESADs or ESAFs) and Ignition Safety Devices (ISDs) for weapon systems.
+ Participates in performance testing and manufacturability assessment of products.
+ Performs simulations of simple-to-complex electronic circuits
+ May be asked to perform detail design, tolerance studies, and selection of electronic components while taking shock, vibration, thermal stress considerations into account.
+ Prepares engineering specs, and parts lists.
+ Writes engineering reports and assists in the preparation of technical proposals.
+ Participates in specification reviews, design reviews, pre-production builds, debug, and product testing.
+ Plans and determines test procedures.
+ Conducts laboratory experiments and investigations, as well as correlates and interprets observations and results.
**Requirements:**
+ **_Working towards a degree in electrical engineering_** or similar discipline is required.
+ Prefer experience in the **_design/development or other equivalent training in analog circuits with electronic components._**
+ Knowledge of electronic design software (Altium, OrCAD, PSpice preferred) is preferred.
+ Must be proficient in MS Office.
+ Previous experience with military high reliability programs and working with Military Standards is desirable.
+ Ingenuity and attention to detail skills are essential.

**Responsibilities Include:**
+ Support project staffing plans, schedules, budgets, bids, and estimates for proposed program work packages, including the execution of risk mitigation plans.

**Qualifications You Must Have:**

  • Provide technical guidance, efficient troubleshooting/problem solving activities and maintenance repair to maximize efficiencies and limit downtime

  • Ensure that appropriate inventory levels for standard replacement parts are maintained
Qualifications and Skills
  • 5+ years engineering and maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment working on improving efficiencies and/or continuous improvement preferable in the food & beverage industry.
  • Degree in engineering and equivalent experience.
  • An understanding of energy, steam, air, refrigeration and/or water system designs.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to determine actionable projects that achieve results.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing ISO 50001 Energy Management System (preferred)
  • Demonstrated success managing multiple projects to meet overarching objectives.
  • Must be commutable to Byesville, Ohio and able to travel 10% of the time.
