**Role Purpose**
This position is in the Sullivan Park Operations Directorate, within the Laboratory Services Management & Engineering (LSME) Department. The primary function of the department is to provide support for R&D activities by providing professional services in project management, infrastructure engineering, and laboratory space management. Infrastructure engineering is responsible for coordination of laboratory infrastructure systems including design oversight, installation, and receivership of new systems, operational monitoring and process control of equipment by leveraging engineering principles, standards, processes and best practices. This is a technical individual contributor position with a focus on safe operation, reliability, and sustainability of laboratory infrastructure support equipment and processes. A key function of this job is customer interfacing, knowledge and understanding of customer's processes and needs, consulting with multiple customers, maintaining good customer relationships, and providing the customer with the most effective support. The expectation is that this position will assist the mechanical, electrical and controls engineers within the Infrastructure Engineering group.
**Key Responsibilities**
+ Daily/weekly walk down water systems, record information
+ Basic troubleshooting, HVAC, water systems, process piping, other.
+ Write troubleshooting documentation and job aides
+ Point of contact for exhaust program in Maximo
+ Execute drawing updates, file uploads, document updates, air balance sheet updates.
+ Schematic verifications
+ Random checks when there is an issue & report back, these are the items that pop up during the day
+ Be the supplier point of contact for on-site visits
+ Off hour support when required (on-call rotation, emergencies)
+ Follow up on trades work during and after, place WOs, attend WPS trades planning meetings, preventative maintenance coordination
+ Maintain spare parts inventory
**Experiences/Education - Required**
+ 2 year Associates Degree, 3-5 years in facilities or maintenance support roles
+ Familiarity with asset management systems
+ Interpretation of technical documentation (e.g. specifications, schematics, P&ID's, etc.)

+ Effective written, verbal and presentation communication skills

**Position Purpose**
Focus will be the development of robust precision machine systems that provide significant competitive advantage to Corning's businesses, and / or enable new products and product lines (prototype, and production capable machines).
**Requirements**
+ Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Precision Engineering discipline (B.S. minimum) or related
+ 5+ years of engineering experience
+ Strong understanding of precision engineering principles
+ Experience in designing and building precision motion systems
+ Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, & Inventor)
+ Must be available for significant travel, primarily domestic, to multiple locations to support business needs. International travel could be required as well.
**Desired**
+ Proficiency with metrology tools and techniques (e.g., CMM, laser interferometer)
+ Strong knowledge of precision machining techniques and materials.
+ Innovative with strong technical curiosity
+ Track record of researching prior art and documenting Intellectual Property
**Responsibilities**
+ Interface with the R, D, E and M teams that are involved in the innovation and manufacture of new products and machine systems for any of Corning's Businesses
+ Design and analysis of first generation /next generation products, machines, machine fixturing and machine components from a robustness of design perspective
+ Work with other project team members on solving difficult mechanical engineering related problems
+ Develop deep understanding of process requirements to influence equipment design functionality & performance
+ Integrate commercially available technologies and processes and effectively leverage external machine builders and system integrators
+ Utilize internal lab facilities and equipment to develop proof of concept prototypes
+ Work closely with multidisciplinary teams controls & process engineers, optical & glass scientists
+ Travel may be required during installation, debug, and start-up and for routine interaction with internal and external customers and suppliers

The range for this position is $94,161.00 - $129,472.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
