PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

Provide management of the engineering function of accountability.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Provide management of the engineering function with respect to station needs and regulatory requirements
  • Manage the performance and development of assigned engineering personnel relative to site and corporate objectives and provide focus on the attainment of high-quality engineering results
  • Directly and through subordinates, fulfill engineering and technical leadership accountability regarding short-term and long-term programs that impact site operations.
  • Participate in Business Planning, Budget, and Business Performance review regarding assigned staff.
  • Participate as senior resource to NGG-wide programs and initiatives regarding standardized and enhanced engineering systems and processes.
  • All other job assignments and/or duties pursuant to company policy or as directed by management to include but not limited to: (Emergency Response duties and/or coverage, Department duty coverage and/or call out, and positions outside of department in support of outage activities etc.)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical, Civil/Structural, Electrical, Industrial, Mechanical, or nuclear) OR related science OR License Professional Engineer OR Active/Inactive SRO License with 5 years of engineering or related experience, which shall include 1 year of nuclear power plant experience
  • Must meet additional requirements as outlined in ANSI/ANS-3.1-2014 Standard, "Selection, Qualification, and Training of Personnel for Nuclear Power Plants"
  • Maintain minimum access requirement or unescorted access requirements, as applicable, and favorable medical examination and/or testing in accordance with position duties

ManTech seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Engineering Technician IV to join our team in Lexington Park, MD. This is an onsite position.

This employee receives technical advice from a supervisor or professional engineer and executes non-routine, complex assignments in support of Navy aircraft and weapons systems modernization projects.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Developing or reviewing designs to include detailed circuit diagrams, hardware fittings or test equipment, piping systems, building site layouts

Job Description:

The Engineering Technician performs a variety of duties in the electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, and/or optical areas. Assists in the design, construction, test and check-out of test equipment. Constructs, troubleshoots, calibrates, adjusts, tests, diagnoses, and maintains equipment, components, devices, or systems. Works from schematics, operating or repair manuals, engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions. May work with complex machines or computer systems. Operates related equipment; conducts tests and reports data in prescribed format. Performs calibration and alignment checks; makes adjustments, modifications, and replacements as directed; prepares prescribed compounds and solutions.

Essential Functions:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret / Yankee White Clearance
  • Applies engineering techniques and principles to develop, design, modify, install, test, evaluate or operate electrical, electronics, avionics, mechanical, communications or related data processing systems for military rotary wing aircraft or associated support equipment and facilities.
  • Provides support for maintenance, repair, inspection and troubleshooting of system equipment or components.
  • Organizes, analyzes and prepares reports and presentations of technical data.
  • Plans and performs tests and evaluations of system equipment or components.
  • Compiles, processes, and analyzes test data and results.
Qualifications:
  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED. Also requires successful completion of a technical school, trade school, advanced armed services technical training curriculum or course of training in electricity, electronics, avionics, mechanics, armaments/ordnance, or engineering technology; or successful completion of at least 15 semester hours of course studies in an engineering, scientific or technical curriculum.
  • Minimum of four (4) years' experience in the area of aircraft and weapon systems, hardware, instrumentation or software development.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
Preferred Additional Skills:
  • Active Top Secret security clearance.


In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Colorado state, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state, and Vermont is $44,000 - $81,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. L3Harris also offers a variety of benefits, including health and disability insurance, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, EAP, education assistance, parental leave, paid time off, and company-paid holidays. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements.
