**Description**
An Intern will work collaboratively with our teams to support a Burns & McDonnell Department, Global Practice or Regional Office. This position will provide support and assistance with requests in support of the business strategy.
Transmission & Distribution
The Transmission & Distribution group is responsible for the planning and design of electrical transmission projects in power delivery, including overhead transmission, underground transmission, distribution systems, substation design, telecommunication & network engineering, pipelines, renewable power integration, security, grid modernization and more.
+ Assist with tasks that may include filing, scanning, data entry, documentation, Power Point presentation.
+ Assist with responses to general questions.
+ Participate in continuous improvement efforts by collecting and analyzing data.
+ Present solutions to concerns.
+ Research solutions to project concerns; analyze and recommend solutions to problems.

Amentum is actively seeking an Engineering Logistics Planner under the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) PMS 326 Follow-On Technical Support (FOTS) contract. This is a full-time, remote role. Some onsite travel will be required to support the client and Project Management Office (PMO). Onsite work will be performed at the PMO Headquarters in Washington, DC or Amentum offices in Norfolk, VA with CONUS and OCONUS travel permitted per the client's needs.
**Compensation**
The annual starting salary rate for this position is between $100,000-$120,000. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

**Essential responsibilities and daily duties include:**
+ Research and develop comprehensive procurement solutions for parts that are obsolete or no longer procurable for US built or ex-US Navy ships and craft in the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) Program. These components must be form, fit, and function (FFF) replacements for the parts that are difficult to procure. In some applications, you will utilize next higher assembly.
+ Research potential engineering solutions and coordinate with platform planners and engineers to ensure that procurement solutions will meet technical requirements of platform. This may involve collaboration with other internal Amentum business units or external service vendors for re-design or fabrication of a hard-to-find component.
+ Coordinate with procurement personnel (buyers and ILS personnel) to ensure rapid procurement of alternative parts or next higher assembly solutions.
+ Ensure that planners understand engineering requirements and impacts of using the alternative component.
+ Develop estimates for labor and materials for FFG-7 class ships, Cyclone PCs, Mine Hunter Craft (MHC), Fast Missile Craft (FMC), and other FMS vessels in major maintenance availabilities such as Drydock Selective Restricted Availabilities (DSRA), Selective Restricted Availabilities (SRA), and other extended maintenance periods.
+ Collaborate with the Amentum CONUS Team, In-Country Teams, Planners, Port Engineers, and foreign navies to provide timely alternative procurement solutions for FFG, PC, FMC, and MHC class ships of the Egyptian Navy. You will need to interpret engineering drawings and technical documents/requirements.
+ Provide alternative part information to both internal and external stakeholders.
+ Track status of parts procurements and evaluate impacts to schedule for maintenance periods.
+ Support as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for alternative parts research and solutioning.
+ Work in a Strong Matrix and projectized environment for multiple customers.
+ Develop lessons learned for parts and material procurement.
+ Conduct detailed engineering analysis of component alternatives for FFF applications. Must be able to research technical requirements and be able apply those to finding alternative parts and materials in a high tempo procurement environment.
+ Respond to frequent telephone and email communications from planners, engineers, technicians, and potential vendors.
+ Participate and contribute to process improvement initiative.
+ Provide timely and comprehensive input for various Monthly Status Reports.
**Minimum Requirements**
+ High school diploma or equivalent.
+ 5 years of engineering and/or maintenance logistics experience.
+ 2 years of United States Government (USG) ship or submarine construction and/or repair and overhaul experience, specifically with providing logistics support, planning, and fulfillment.

**Job Description**
The Field Applications Engineering (FAE) is a high-impact, cross-functional leadership role responsible for driving strategic technical engagements across key North American customer accounts. This individual will lead the FAE team, remove operational roadblocks, and ensure successful sales and qualification of all drive products.
As the Voice of the Customer within Western Digital, the FAE will align customer needs with internal product roadmap, foster joint technology partnerships, and build strategic bridges between customer stakeholders and Western Digital's business units. This role demands leadership, technical depth, and the ability to influence both internal and external teams.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
**Customer & Technical Team Leadership**
+ Serve as the primary escalation path for both customer and internal technical teams, resolving issues swiftly and communicating resolutions to executive management.
+ Attend technical customer meetings to maintain direct engagement and assess the proficiency and effectiveness of the technical teams.
+ Establish and nurture strong relationships with regional and strategic customers, acting as the technical focal point for all qualification needs.
+ Communicate and consolidate technical status updates for managed accounts to the leadership team.
**Team Enablement & Resource Optimization**
+ Identify and request necessary resources such as training, databases, tools, and process enhancements to maximize team productivity.
+ Proactively remove roadblocks that hinder the FAE team's ability to succeed in sales and product qualification efforts.
+ Work closely with the sales team to identify and capitalize on new business opportunities.
**Product Qualification & Lifecycle Management**
+ Provide direct support for product qualification activities across regional accounts.
+ Define and manage qualification start and RTS (Release to Ship) dates to align with customer revenue build schedules.
+ Organize and participate in Concept and Product Design Reviews, ensuring all action items are tracked and closed.
+ Collect and communicate unique customer hardware and software requirements to the Application Engineering teams
+ Collaborate with customers on qualification schedules and ensure accurate status tracking in the company's qualification database.
**Cross-Functional Collaboration**
+ Coordinate with the System Integrity Test (SIT) teams, supplying customer-specific hardware and test-ware data to support successful product qualifications.
+ Ensure timely delivery and tracking of all customer product samples, including engineering and qualification units.
**Technical Expertise & On-Site Support**
+ Provide on-site diagnostic support and failure analysis, including capturing bus traces, product logs, and performing initial assessments.
+ Ensure proper follow-up and closure of failure analysis issues by engaging subject matter experts.
**Qualifications**
REQUIRED
+ Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
+ 10+ years of experience in enterprise storage solutions and technical sales.
+ Deep knowledge of DAS, SAN, NAS, Linux scripting, and S3-compliant systems.
+ Proven track record in pre-sales, solution design, and customer engagement.
SKILLS
+ Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
+ Ability to lead in a dynamic, startup-like environment with shifting priorities.
+ Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
