Who You Are

Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Civil Engineering Project Manager in San Francisco to manage and drive complex infrastructure projects to successful completion. This role is designed for a proficient civil engineering professional who excels in both engineering and project management.
As a Project Manager at KPFF, you will be responsible for the full project lifecycle, from initial planning through execution and closeout, ensuring projects meet client expectations, budget, and schedule requirements.
- Lead Full Project Lifecycle Management : Manage all phases of civil engineering projects, including planning, design, budgeting, permitting, construction oversight, and project closeout, while ensuring quality and adherence to timelines.
- Provide Technical Expertise and Oversight : Oversee advanced engineering design and calculations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards, building codes, and regulatory requirements. Direct teams in the preparation of complex drawings, specifications, and technical reports.

Qualifications

The Site Civil Engineering Designer will be a staff or lead engineering designer working with the technical team and supporting the project manager to deliver well-executed projects to our clients. You will direct and assist with plan production, perform and review design calculations, drive quality assurance, and support the internal and external project team on a variety of site/civil land development engineering projects. The Site Civil Engineering Designer will develop grading and earthwork, site access, erosion control, stormwater management systems, stormwater pollution prevention plans, and other documentation to support the clients permitting and construction efforts.
Responsibilities- Support project managers to develop engineering design, drive execution of deliverables, and provide client support
- Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D to produce engineering plans and exhibits
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to ensure project objectives (scope, schedule, budget, deliverables) are met in accordance with established metrics
- Provide technical expertise in site/civil design, hydrology/hydraulics, erosion and sedimentation control, slope stability, and stormwater management
- Support permitting with County and local municipalities. Experience with local municipalities is a plus
- Work closely with project management team to identify challenges, and develop and implement solutions
- Minimum of 8+ years Site/Civil Design experience
- Proven experience with codes and regulations, creating engineering plans, designing storm water facilities, site grading, and local and state permitting
- Demonstrated knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and stormwater management calculations. Experience with Autodesk Vehicle Tracking, Bluebeam, MicroStation, HydroCAD, Microsoft Suite, and other relevant software packages is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to take responsibility for, organize, and manage project tasks. Experience with delegating work, writing proposals, or project budgeting are a plus.
