PGS Worldwide is actively seeking an Engineering Technician to support engineering and testing activities in Archbald, PA . This 1-year contract-to-hire role provides hands-on technical support to engineers, assisting with testing, documentation, and data collection in support of aerospace and defense programs.

The ideal candidate will have an Associate's degree in electronics, electrical engineering technology, or avionics , combined with experience in electronics testing and schematic interpretation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support to engineers on various tasks and projects
  • Gather, maintain, format, and compile technical data such as lab or material test results and engineering design changes
  • Produce engineering documentation, reports, flow charts, block diagrams, and schematics
  • Perform detailed mathematical calculations and preliminary data analyses using established formulas
  • Conduct data acquisition and electronic testing in support of engineering evaluation
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and electrical schematics
  • Assist with test execution and record results for engineering review
  • Use personal computer tools to perform analyses and generate documentation/reports
Required Qualifications:
  • Associate's Degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, or Avionics (military training/combined electronics experience may substitute)
  • 6+ months of military or civilian electronics experience
  • 1-2 years of experience reading engineering drawings and electrical schematics
  • 1-2 years of data acquisition and electronic testing experience
  • Strong computer literacy, including documentation and reporting tools
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience with test fixture maintenance
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues in support of engineering and test operations
  • Combined degree and hands-on experience strongly preferred

**Position Overview**
The **UAM Field Technician 1** is responsible for planning, designing, verifying locations, inspecting, or otherwise capturing information related to utility infrastructure. This is an entry-level position, and individuals are expected to progressively learn and apply technical information and new skills under general supervision. Work assignments involve applying routine procedures to solve common challenges. This role provides our utility clients with the services and solutions needed to manage their assets efficiently and effectively by performing the duties described. This position is an individual contributor role working in a field environment.
**Job Duties**
● Operate as a lone worker when required, demonstrating independence and self-sufficiency. *
● Operate as one of a pair of technicians when required, demonstrating ability to collaborate work scheduling, hours, and work locations. *
● Fulfill weekly production targets to meet client expectations and timelines. *
● Perform field audits of existing utility infrastructure by visually identifying, inspecting, and recording information. *
● Operate hand-held computers, GPS units, cameras and/or other field technology. *
● Accurately record field observations. *
● Positively and effectively communicate with property owners and agencies to arrange for necessary access and work. *
● Drive, operate, and maintain a company vehicle in a variety of terrains and surfaces (including ATVs). *
● Read and follow maps; navigate (in vehicle and on foot) through a variety of terrains and in all types of weather using a GPS, map, compass, or other methods. *
● Recognize unacceptable safety risk conditions and hazards related to the work environment, federal standards, and client specifications. *
● Review and/or correct data integrity errors within the GIS Database. *
● Comply with all safety regulations and meet safety requirements in order to complete work safely. *
● Perform light maintenance on utility infrastructure, utilizing hand tools.
● Use a fiberglass measuring stick to accurately measure heights on utility poles.
● Collaborate with others (Project Managers, Supervisors, Coordinators, Technicians, and Administrators).
● Ensure the proper care and maintenance of any vehicle and equipment assigned including regular inspections, maintenance checks, and prompt reporting of any issues to the appropriate supervisor or maintenance personnel.
● React safely and appropriately in emergency situations.
● Report and respond timely and accurately to the supervisor. *
● Participate in employee and professional training events as assigned.
● Travel (75%-100%) for on-site job duties. *
● Perform other related duties as assigned.
● Follow all company policies, procedures, and work rules.
**Qualifications**
● **Required:** A high-school diploma or equivalent.
● **Required:** Demonstrated proficiency in basic office applications and data entry. Must be willing to learn mapping collection software applications.

**Main Responsibilities:**
The Global Engineering Process & Plant Safety Lead develops and implements engineering initiatives to further our "safety first, quality always" culture, reduce plant operational risk, and improve the safety of our worldwide manufacturing operations in accordance with Sanofi's Leading Safety principles and Life-Saving Behaviors.
+ Perform analyses to identify trends in process safety incidents wholly or partially attributed to engineering root causes or contributing factors

+ Develop appropriate corrective actions and/or technical solutions to reduce engineering-related safety incidentsInterpret and report process safety trends and KPIs to engineering and non-engineering stakeholders
+ Establish data-driven priorities for engineering HSE initiatives
+ Cooperate with global HSE to implement safety improvement initiatives within the global and site engineering organizations
+ Provide direct site support for serious/difficult safety investigations, regulatory inspections, and internal audits
+ Disseminate lessons learned from operational safety incidents to site engineering organizations across the manufacturing network
+ Publicize and promote safety best practices applicable to pharmaceutical manufacturing processes and infrastructure
+ Stay abreast of safety-related technical solutions, regulatory findings, major industry incidents, industry peers, and vendor landscape

+ Provide subject matter expertise (SME) to support process improvements, design reviews, and change controls that enhance process safety
+ Assist with engineering aspects of emergency preparedness and response plans
+ Serve as a safety advisor for high-impact or elevated-risk events such as plant shutdowns
+ Participate in risk assessment and mitigation exercises including HAZOPs and job hazard analyses (JHAs)
+ Lead the development and global implementation of the Process Safety Management (PSM) standard, ensuring alignment with OSHA, CCPS, and international regulations
+ Oversee compliance, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement through audits, metrics, and dashboards covering PSM systems
+ Collaborate with Global Engineering functional leads to address safety issues related to engineering support functions such as maintenance, facilities, utilities, and sustainability
+ Develop and implement a management strategy for equipment placed in explosion-rated areas; prepare certification conformities for relevant authorities
+ With Global HSE the management, develop an effective end-to-end process for HAZOP

**Experience & Qualifications** :
**Basic Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor's degree in Environmental / Science / Engineering / Technical discipline or in relevant field.
+ 7+ years of relevant experience with safety programs.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Master's Degree in Environmental / Science / Engineering / Technical discipline or in a relevant field.
+ 10+ years of relevant experience in managing and leading safety programs at the site or global level.
+ Experience in a global or multi-site role is desired.
+ Understanding of unique hazards associated with pharmaceutical manufacturing process, including chemical exposure, biohazards, steam, acids/caustics, cleaning agents, and cryogenics
+ First-hand knowledge of safety permit systems including permit to work (PtW), confined space, hot work, working at height, energy isolation, and lock-out/tag-out (LOTO)
+ Knowledge of process safety regulations applicable to pharmaceutical manufacturing systems such as arc flash, fire protection, machine guarding, biosafety containment, mechanical integrity, etc.
+ Knowledge of personal protective equipment (PPE) and engineering controls applicable to pharmaceutical manufacturing and support operations
+ Understanding of key environmental permitting and reporting processes, including airborne emissions, spills, containment, and wastewater
+ Experience interfacing with regulatory authorities and internal auditors on HSE matters
+ Familiarity with operational safety metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) used to track safety and environmental performance
+ Experience with digital HSE platforms such as Enablon or Intelex
+ Relevant certifications to demonstrate currency, self-development, and continuous learning in the field of safety management
+ In-depth knowledge of domestic (home country) safety laws and regulations as well as an understanding of how the fundamental principles apply internationally
+ Knowledge of contractor pre-qualification systems (such as ISN)
+ Understanding of high-hazard chemical API manufacturing, including ATEX zones, organic solvents, explosive powders, etc.

**The selected candidate will work in the Manufactuing and Supply Engineering and Maintenance department and be a team member of the Clean Utilities and Sustainability group. The scope of this internship position is diverse and covers several engineering disciplines and topics including but not limited to: Project Management, HVAC, Electrical, Process Piping, Mechanical Piping, and Manufacturing Equipment.**

+ Assignments will vary based on the needs of the various projects including attendance at project meetings, issue resolution, drawing field verification, presentations, documentation organization and control, and safety compliance audits.
