**GENERAL SUMMARY**
Supervise staff activities: provide leadership, technical guidance, work management, project management and administration within an Engineering department. The group is responsible for activities such as system performance monitoring and trending, maintaining system health reports, planned maintenance (PM) reviews, system-related action requests (AR) reviews, troubleshooting, outage support, and equipment reliability improvements. Additionally, provide input to the manager on budget, schedule, staffing, and system long-term planning, and work week involvement to support the operation of the Columbia Generating Station.
**PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES**
Managing -- Manages employees using established Energy Northwest policies, procedures, and practices. Communicates a common vision consistent with that of the leadership team. Conducts pre-job briefs with staff to ensure mutual understanding of assigned work. Reviews and approves (per procedure) the work generated by group.
Developing -- Responsible to develop workable personnel strategies to achieve the department's vision and mission. Assures the engineers maintain their qualification through required training. Conducts frequent observations of his/her staff and provides constructive feedback to reinforce and enhance performance. Performs periodic performance reviews of the engineers in the group.
Planning/Scheduling - Use of work management system to assure workload priorities and completion dates for deliverable products. Work with the Engineering Manager to develop the group budget for each fiscal year.
Evaluating -- Conducts periodic reviews of group activities to compare status versus the plan. When a deviation occurs, assures the corrective actions are identified and implemented, and conducts employee coaching. Frequently evaluates status of the groups' budget, and discusses deviations with the Engineering Manager. Takes necessary actions to avoid overruns.
Engineering employees are expected to be available and to support the following activities as a condition of employment with Energy Northwest:
1. Emergency Response Organization (ERO) including being on-call (24/7) during your required team duty (2 weeks out of every 8 weeks).
2. 12 hour work shifts during outages as part of our overall Outage support (24/7) including Outage Command Center and Engineering Outage Center
3. Engineering duty cycle support (24/7) including call-out availability during your responsible duty assignment. (This is a shared responsibility across all engineering supervisors).
**REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE**
Requires a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or related/relevant technical field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of five years of related technical experience of which one year shall be nuclear power plant experience. A maximum of two years of the required five years may be fulfilled by a master's degree in engineering or related field. A Professional Engineer (PE) license or SRO license may be considered as equivalent to the Bachelor's degree requirement.
The Reactor Engineering/Fuel Design Supervisor(s) shall have a minimum of two years of experience in areas such as reactor/core physics and measurements, heat transfer, and physics testing.
Supervisors responsible for instrumentation and control shall have a minimum of five years of experience in instrumentation and control, of which a minimum of six months shall be in nuclear instrumentation and control.

**Pay Range**
$141,070.00 - $11,604.00 Annual
Midpoint:
176,337.00
Typically, selected candidates are hired between the minimum and midpoint of the range, based on applicable experience and qualifications, market rate, internal equity, and budgetary allowances.
Offers will be negotiated based on each candidate's qualifications.
**Incentive Compensation**
This role may be eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan. Incentives are earned based on employee performance against defined metrics and company goals.

ResponsibilitiesOur project managers have the opportunity to plan, implement, and supervise the execution of projects for our Federal DOE Contracts. A typical day may include reviewing project financials, managing project schedules, developing project plans, and facilitating internal and external project meetings for multiple projects executing simultaneously. We help you apply your skills to exciting and important projects. You will also need to:
- Manage Client Interactions: Act as the single point of contact for assigned projects, negotiate / control project scope to client and the company's satisfaction, foster and maintain working relations with assigned clients
- Lead Teams: Lead matrixed technical staff to ensure client deliverables meet quality standards, schedules, technical requirements
- Manage Project Financials: Understand project financials and be able to report regularly to management on financial status and overall project performance
- Manage Project Schedules: Responsible for development of project schedule, execution of schedule, reporting on schedule, preparing recovery schedules and re-baselining schedules. Understand complex scheduling tools including earned value management and reporting processes
- Lead Proposal Efforts: Lead efforts while working with technical staff to develop winning, and highly detailed, engineering proposals, support marketing efforts, including identification of new opportunities, proposal preparation and follow-up
- Meet Reporting Requirements : Formulate / develop detailed internal and Federal reporting requirements
- Enforce Polices: Enforce Internal and Federal work standards, schedules, supervising sub-contractor personnel, and communicating policies, purposes, and goals of the organization to subordinates
- Develop Plans: Develop Federal Services Project Work Plans, Risk Management Plans, Work Breakdown Structures and Dictionaries

Qualifications- Minimum of 6 years' combined experience in federal projects or the nuclear power industry as an engineering Project Manager
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering -OR- PMP Certification and BS in Business or Architectural
- Skilled in cost / workhour estimating and proposal development and review
- Capable of reporting on and managing scope, schedule, and cost for multiple projects executing simultaneously
- Knowledge in earned value management, rules of credit, and progress reporting
- Experienced in contract and non-disclosure agreement language development and review
- Ability to understand and work with budget and accounting processes
- Strong coordination and team building skills
- Excellent organizational, time management, strategic planning, writing, communication, decision-making, and presentation skills
- Effective communication skills with demonstrated ability to work across disciplines and teams
- Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to travel between 10-15% of the time; duration of travel may vary depending on project and client needs, ranging from a few days to a few weeks
- Position may occasionally require a client site assignment lasting several months at a time
- Must be a US Citizen to be eligible for this position
- Ability to obtain DOE L or Q clearance
Pay Range
USD $110,000.00 - USD $170,000.00 /Yr.
