**Job Summary**
Responsible to the assigned supervisor for performing intermediate level engineering work activities and projects requiring the application of engineering knowledge in a safe, effective, efficient and economic accomplishment of assigned objectives.

**What You'll Do:**
+ Able to identify issues with processes and tools and provide possible solutions and provide input to more seasoned personnel. Able to complete complex RPA with both new and legacy aspects.
+ Completes RPA with limited supervision. Able to complete complex RTU configuration with both new and legacy aspects. Completes configuration with limited supervision. Beginning to expand communication technology competency to include legacy applications (Async, Sync, AEP, etc) Able to support stakeholders with common SCADA related issues.
+ Able to complete alarm and basic I/O 2411 settings for both greenfield and brownfield projects with limited supervision. Implements standards in appropriate measures with limited guidance from higher-level team members.
+ Assists higher level team members with overall SCADA compliance items.
**Technical Expertise** : Possesses advanced knowledge and performs varied assignments with proficiency in the application of theory and analytical techniques to solve diverse problems and complete extensive analyses. Understands interrelationship between systems and component equipment. Analyzes and recommends enhancements to business processes.
**Leadership and Guidance** : Coordinates work activities of others within the work group, department, or other corporate entity as necessary to perform routine engineering work. Performs routine engineering activity independently. Provides training and guidance to lower-level employees. Planning and Organizational Ability: Develops input necessary to forecast costs for the routine projects, improvements requisitions, etc.
**Problem Solving and Initiative:** Resolves and initiates solutions to routine and/or moderately complex problems which usually require additional definition/clarification before analysis can begin. Identifies problems that are beyond the normal routine. Seeks out opportunities and embrace new ideas and approaches.
**Communication Skills** : Helps coordinate the work of other engineers in an efficient and effective manner.
**Interpersonal Skills** : Leads aspects of team effort. Effectively leverages skills developed from company programs such as Power Up & Lead.

Job Description
The Engineering Technician II is primarily responsible for assisting in the daily operations and maintenance of manufacturing equipment/processes for the manufacture of night vision image intensifiers. This is a hands-on engineering technician position. The individual can expect to spend more than 80% of their time interacting with the equipment and operators, building/repairing mechanical tooling, and dispositioning of non-conforming product.
Responsibilities:
- Optimizing manufacturing processes
- Implementing cost reduction opportunities (yield and productivity improvements, waste elimination)
- Training production employees to enhance work processes and product quality
- Work to minimize or eliminate issues related to safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and production
- Other duties as assigned
- Proficiency in the use of hand and machine tools, precision gauges, test instruments, and process equipment
- Ability to accurately read, understand, and follow procedures
- Possess an understanding and skills in effectively applying Lean and Six Sigma tools to reduce waste and improve efficiency
- Strong analytical abilities and troubleshooting techniques
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- PC proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook is required
- Must have the ability to work effectively within a team
