**What You'll Do:**
+ Able to identify issues with processes and tools and provide possible solutions and provide input to more seasoned personnel. Able to complete complex RPA with both new and legacy aspects.
+ Completes RPA with limited supervision. Able to complete complex RTU configuration with both new and legacy aspects. Completes configuration with limited supervision. Beginning to expand communication technology competency to include legacy applications (Async, Sync, AEP, etc) Able to support stakeholders with common SCADA related issues.
+ Able to complete alarm and basic I/O 2411 settings for both greenfield and brownfield projects with limited supervision. Implements standards in appropriate measures with limited guidance from higher-level team members.
+ Assists higher level team members with overall SCADA compliance items.
**Technical Expertise** : Possesses advanced knowledge and performs varied assignments with proficiency in the application of theory and analytical techniques to solve diverse problems and complete extensive analyses. Understands interrelationship between systems and component equipment. Analyzes and recommends enhancements to business processes.
**Leadership and Guidance** : Coordinates work activities of others within the work group, department, or other corporate entity as necessary to perform routine engineering work. Performs routine engineering activity independently. Provides training and guidance to lower-level employees. Planning and Organizational Ability: Develops input necessary to forecast costs for the routine projects, improvements requisitions, etc.
**Problem Solving and Initiative:** Resolves and initiates solutions to routine and/or moderately complex problems which usually require additional definition/clarification before analysis can begin. Identifies problems that are beyond the normal routine. Seeks out opportunities and embrace new ideas and approaches.
**Communication Skills** : Helps coordinate the work of other engineers in an efficient and effective manner.
**Interpersonal Skills** : Leads aspects of team effort. Effectively leverages skills developed from company programs such as Power Up & Lead.

PROJECT MANAGER - TRANSPORTATION ENGINEERING

Mattern & Craig, an employee owned Engineering and Survey Firm, is looking for a motivated and responsible individual for a leadership position in our Transportation Division. The focus of the position is managing VDOT and municipal roadway and related projects. This is a Project Manager Transportation Engineering position in the Roanoke office serving the Roanoke and Western Virginia market. Applicants must be proficient with VDOT methodology and have working knowledge of design plan preparation using Open Roads Design, GEOPAK and MicroStation. Experience with VDOT projects is highly desired but equivalent experience in other DOT work will be considered.

Beyond project management, this role includes some business development and team management. Previous client and project development experience, excellent communication skills and a willingness to lead a team is highly valued. The successful candidate will manage multiple transportation design projects; develop project schedules and budgets; supervise design team members and provide quality assurance for meeting design criteria and regulatory requirements. Additionally, the role will require assisting in the development of Statements of Qualifications (SOQ), technical proposals and presentations; and responsibly coordinating with clients, sub-consultants, government and regulatory agencies.

Experience:

  • VA Registered PE preferred or ability to obtain licensure in Virginia within 6 months
  • BSCE from ABET accredited engineering program
  • Excellent engineering design, written, and communication skills
  • Minimum of 12 yrs of technical experience and 5 years of project management and client services experience
  • Experience with VDOT and municipalities is a plus

AECOM's Roanoke, VA office is hiring an **Electrical Engineering Manager** to work on various designs of high-performance buildings within multiple sectors including Corporate Workplace and Commercial buildings, Federal Civilian and DoD, Healthcare, Mission Critical, Justice, and Higher Education projects.

+ Performs various management and leadership responsibilities for the Electrical Engineering Department. Has full responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating technical assignments.
+ Requires multi-disciplinary knowledge of engineering. Plans and develops engineering tasks concerned with unique or controversial problems. This involves exploration of a subject area, the definition of scope, and the selection of problems for investigation and development of novel concepts and approaches.
+ Maintains liaison with units within the organization and individuals inside and outside of the organization.
+ Responsible for acting independently on technical matters pertaining to the field.
+ Works under minimal supervision. Supervision received is essentially administrative with assignments given in terms of broad general objectives and limits.
+ Supervises a group of engineers and/or technicians, coordinating activities of the unit.
+ Acts as a Senior Engineer leading the design and engineering efforts for various projects.
+ Assist in business development activities

**Qualifications**
**Minimum Requirements:**

**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ 10+ years of electrical engineering experience within a consulting or design-build firm.

Job Description

Primarily responsible for assistance in daily operations and maintenance of manufacturing equipment/processes for manufacture of night vision image intensifiers. This is a hands-on engineering technician position. The individual can expect to spend >80% of their time interacting with the equipment and operators, building/repairing mechanical tooling, and dispositioning non-conforming product. Other work includes but would not be limited to: optimization of manufacturing processes, implementation of cost reduction opportunities (yield and productivity improvements, waste elimination) and training production employees to improve work processes and product quality. Generally, individual works to minimize or eliminate safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and production issues.

A successful candidate will have proficiency in the use of hand and machine tools, precision gauges, test instruments, and process equipment and will be able to read, understand, and follow procedures. Have an understanding and skills in effectively applying Lean and Six Sigma tools to reduce waste and improve efficiency. Candidate will perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in an Engineering field (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, etc.) or related work experience

The Project Engineering Manager (PEM) is the leader of the engineering content of a project. The PEM is responsible for the planning, execution, monitoring and control, and overall cost, schedule and technical performance of the project's engineering effort. The PEM may be assigned projects that include new product development, product sustainment, and existing product upgrades. New product development includes projects that are solely designed in-house as well as those that are co-developed using other Elbit Systems companies or external suppliers and contractors. The PEM is not only the engineering project leader but he/she is also the liaison between business units and the engineering team. The PEM is required to build robust relationships with the business unit program managers, Chief Engineers, and engineering Functional Managers. The PEM is expected to demonstrate effective leadership and communication skills and have the ability to work well with people at all levels. Project Engineering Managers report to the Site Execution Engineering Director or Manager.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Planning

  • Develop/refine engineering WBS, in accordance with company standards tailored as appropriate to meet specific project requirements
  • Clearly define and document project scope and deliverables
  • Coordinate and integrate the different functional inputs into a coherent executable project plan.
  • Establish, negotiate and allocate budgets across the Integrated Project Team (IPT) and Functional Managers
  • Coordinate the development of the engineering portion of the resource loaded IMS
  • Coordinate the development of the initial risk and opportunity register
  • Communicate staffing requirements to functional management and Engineering Director in support of the engineering resource planning process

Project Execution

  • Lead engineering project execution to include the cost, schedule and technical baselines for all engineering activities
  • Partner with PM's, Engineering Functional Managers, and Functional CAMs to ensure the project is being staffed and executed to plan
  • Manage project scope ensuring budget/schedule changes are made with corresponding scope changes

Cost and Schedule Management

  • Utilize Earned Value Management System (EVMS) (scaled as appropriate) to monitor and control engineering cost and schedule performance
  • Ensure IMS is current
  • Work with team to develop work arounds to incurred cost and schedule variances
  • Coordinate/document variance reporting
  • Update WBS as required
  • Mediate and Adjudicate conflicts that arise within the engineering team and between engineering and the program manager
  • Update risk and opportunities
  • Conduct project reviews as required, reporting program status to senior management

People/Relationships

  • Mentor/coach project team members to help achieve efficient and effective project execution
  • Establish and maintain business unit partnerships
  • Establish and maintain key Elbit, customer, and engineering functional management relationships
  • Establish and maintain relationships with Chief Engineering's

Resource Management

  • Develop and maintain staffing requirements (by skill and time phased) through a resource loaded schedule
  • Enter and maintain staffing requirements into workforce planning tool
  • Negotiate staffing requirements with engineering Functional Managers
  • Support functional staffing analysis for future work
  • Partner with functional management in employee performance assessment, development, and corrective action
  • Identify and report variances between staffing levels vs plan

Process

  • Execute role in accordance with project management process and other relevant procedures
  • Support company level process initiatives and audits
  • Continually seek ways to improve efficiency and performance
  • Partner with Chief Engineers to establish process tailoring
  • Identify risks associated with tailored tasks.

Bids and Proposals

  • Develop/coordinate engineering program bid and execution baselines (technical, scope, cost, schedule, risk, opportunities.) in accordance with defined scope and objectives
  • Partner with Chief Engineers and Functional Manager(s) to provide innovative technical solutions to fit within budget and schedule constraints
  • Lead the development of Basis of Estimates (BOE's) in accordance with company policy, using relevant historical data wherever possible
  • Develop engineering Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), in accordance with company standards tailored as appropriate to meet specific project requirements
  • Develop/support the development of the Integrated Management Schedule (IMS) at the project level, developing work packages and staffing requirements
  • Coordinate and document process tailoring activities for specific project requirements
  • Document risks and opportunities associated with the Engineering Bid

The Sr. Engineer will oversee facility projects of varying sizes and complexity, ranging from greenfield/new construction to major renovations and minor upgrades of existing facilities. This position requires the ability to manage projects from the conceptual engineering phase through construction completion. Interaction with all Grifols' Departments, Vendors, and Contractors is critical for project success. The Sr. Engineer independently performs most assignments and provides direction for the project team to achieve facility project objectives and ensure resources are utilized efficiently. The position requires an understanding of project requirements to ensure projects are in compliance with cGMP design, applicable codes, and environmental laws, rules, and regulations.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage facility project design and construction by coordinating, reviewing, and administering the work of Architects, Engineers, Consultants, and Contractors.

  • Create cost management solutions for facility projects. Manage vendors, engineers, and consultants to ensure facility projects are completed on budget and per schedules.

  • Responsible for project management, project planning, budgeting, cost control, value engineering, and project cost analyses.

  • Review and evaluate bid proposals/estimates with procurement.

  • Manage facility projects and project planning efforts, including both new installations and upgrades to existing facilities.

  • Ensure projects are in compliance with local/state/federal codes and regulations, including OSHA, FDA, Fire, Building/Safety, etc.

  • Track and evaluate critical data to recommend continuous process improvement.

  • Maintain communication between department management and all cross-functional teams.

  • Manage multiple local contractors to complete work in donor centers across the company.

  • Authorize and negotiate work proposals/estimates with local contractors.

  • Flexible travel with a potential of up to 25% travel required.

Abilities, Knowledge & Skills:

  • Driven individual with self-accountability, capable of accomplishing goals with minimal management oversight

  • Experienced self-starter with the knowledge and capability to lead and drive change

  • Strong computer skills

  • Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills

  • Track record of successful program and project management

  • Ability to understand and interpret engineering and construction drawings.

  • Proven ability to develop and document processes, author specifications, author guidance and standard operating procedures

  • Ability to adapt to change

  • Openness and exploratory nature, particularly with respect to future technology / techniques

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Project Management or a related field.

  • Minimum 6 years of experience managing construction or facility projects and project management.

  • Knowledge of national building codes, construction methods, and procedures.

Work is performed in an office environment with exposure to electrical office equipment. Frequently sits for 6-8 hours per day. Frequent hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists. Occasionally walks. Occasionally bends and twists neck. Light to moderate lifting and carrying objects with a maximum lift of 25lbs. Frequently drives to site locations with occasional travel within the United States. Able to communicate complex information and ideas so others will understand; with the ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences. Works independently with little guidance or reliance on oral or written instructions and plans work schedules to meet goals. Frequently interacts with others, relates sensitive information to diverse groups. Must work with diverse groups to obtain consensus on issues. Ability to apply abstract principles to solve complex conceptual issues.
