The Disaster Engineering Specialist:
• Conducts site inspections to validate and record infrastructure damage to include: taking photographs, making site sketches, and writing detailed damage descriptions. Develops and reviews scopes of work and cost estimates, including code and standard requirements.
• Reviews and analyzes engineering reports, designs, and as-built plans.
• Makes recommendations regarding claim eligibility. Develops or evaluates hazard mitigation proposals and benefit-cost analyses. Works with applicants to prioritize their projects, facilitates applicant meetings throughout the program delivery and recovery stages, and communicates the final determination to the applicants.
• Provides analyses and updates reports, participates in status update meetings with FEMA, and identifies the need for technical specialists.
• May coordinate and complete basic to moderately complex site inspections to validate and record damage to assist in the FEMA Public Assistance grant delivery process.
• Other duties as assigned.

Summary
Responsible for design and construction coordination for all phases of projects for grocery store development in the assigned division. Designing and developing floor plans and advising members on their store development and equipment needs. Work with Architects and Engineers to develop complete project drawings. Coordinate construction and equipment installation. Strong background in Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing systems and CAD proficiency. Equipment sales and installation coordination are significant components of this position. Travel will primarily be within the States of Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas & Oklahoma.
Essential Functions:
- Meet with member retailers and design fixture layouts. Recommend building and equipment components for new and existing retail facilities. Develop as-built layouts as required, which requires field measuring to develop CAD drawings. Prepare bid lists and quote equipment for retail stores. Supervise all areas of building construction including selection of architects and engineers. Review construction documents for accuracy. Prepare and review project budgets.
- Visit retail locations. Coordinate equipment installation and requirements with design professionals. Develop preliminary site plans. Schedule equipment deliveries and installation. Negotiate with equipment vendors.
- Visit job sites. Resolve construction and equipment problems. Attending job site meetings with retailers, contractors, and vendors. Interface with other AWG departments involved with the development of stores. Manage project budgets.
- Provide directions and training to Store Engineers. Create work processes. Prepare annual sales projections and departmental operating budgets. Manage equipment/billing department. Resolve departmental issues.
Any combination of education, training and experience providing the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Knowledge:
- Understanding of the retail grocery industry, vendor community, and sales area(s).
- Design experience utilizing current CAD software
- Exposure to construction management techniques and job site visits

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Acts as a technical specialist in a particular engineering area or discipline.
- Provides internal technical advice to project managers throughout the company for the purpose of preparing proposals and developing client presentations.
- Collaborates with a project manager with project planning including development of the project scope, concepts and strategies to be used, task organization, estimates of effort the identification of other required resources, and schedules necessary to complete the project. Collaborates with the development of cost and budget estimates for the project.
- Provides technical guidance to the project manager in developing an agreement for engineering services, including scope, fee structure, fee amount, schedule, and all other risk sharing/management provisions related to the engineering manager's portion of the project.

- Specification and contract document development and production

Job Overview
Develop, implement and manage emergency programs for the operation and maintenance of all equipment and physical structures and landscaping in compliance with corporate/franchise standards, local, state and national codes and regulations to protect the asset, guests and employees, to ensure optimum operations, minimize expenses and maximize customer satisfaction. Job Purpose
Watson Metal Masters is actively seeking an Engineering Manager to join our expanding team. Watson Metal Masters, a family-oriented company incorporated since 1995, stands as a leader in the stainless-steel tank industry renowned for their high-quality stainless-steel tanks in various sizes and configurations.
The Engineering Manager is a crucial member of our Engineering team, overseeing all engineering functions, including the supervision of the CAD Design team. This role involves managing project quotations, customer specifications, design calculations, manufacturing standards, and code design requirements. The Engineering Manager interfaces with manufacturing, ensures design accuracy, and contributes to process improvement.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage engineering functions, ensuring adherence to design standards, project quotations, and customer specifications.
- Directly oversee the CAD Design team, providing guidance, feedback, and support to ensure accurate and timely completion of design projects.
- Collaborate with internal teams to generate accurate project quotations based on design calculations, considering customer requirements and established manufacturing and code design standards.
- Conduct thorough reviews of engineering drawings, cut sheets, and bills of material to verify accuracy, compliance with standards, and quality assurance before initiating the manufacturing process.
- Actively participate in weekly production meetings with each department to discuss open orders, track progress, and address any challenges.
- Lead efforts in creating and implementing new and improved design and manufacturing methods to enhance efficiency, quality, and effectiveness in project execution.
- Select, train, develop, and motivate engineering team members to achieve high performance and meet organizational goals.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and other relevant guidelines in the design and manufacturing process.
- Maintain open communication with customers, ensuring their needs and expectations are met and addressing any concerns.
Qualifications
Education
- Four-year Engineering degree is required.
Experience
- 5-8 years of industry experience in Stainless Steel tanks.
- 3-5 years of supervisory experience in an engineering-related field.
- Minimum of 3 years design drawing checking experience.
- Experience with ASME Section VIII, Div.1 engineering design calculations for tank element sizing is preferred.
- Proficiency in tank design principles including internal pressure and/or vacuum, wind and seismic design, heat transfer, agitation, process engineering, and structural analysis.
- Thorough understanding of CAD standards and ability to customize AutoCAD and Inventor for improved workflow.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Demonstrated project management skills.
