Our Tampa Civil Group is seeking a Part-Time Civil Engineering Intern- Summer 2026 to work out of our Tampa, FL office. This temporary position is seeking individuals currently enrolled in an Undergraduate or Graduate degree program.
This internship will be part of the WSP Summer Internship Program. As a summer intern, you have the opportunity to participate in our 12-week program scheduled to start on May 18th, 2026. The individual start date of the internship may be flexible.
Your Impact
+ Support a variety of engineering tasks with the goal to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
+ Learn basic principles of Civil Engineering.
+ Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations and analysis.
+ Support preparation of final design plans, special provisions, and cost estimates.

Our client is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Remote Civil Engineering Project Manager to lead diverse infrastructure projects from inception to completion. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within the US. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of project execution, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities include developing project plans, defining project scope, managing project schedules, and allocating resources effectively. You will be the primary point of contact for clients, stakeholders, and project teams, facilitating clear and consistent communication throughout the project lifecycle. This involves conducting regular project status meetings, preparing comprehensive reports, and proactively identifying and mitigating potential risks and issues. The role requires a deep understanding of civil engineering principles, including site development, transportation infrastructure, water resources, and environmental compliance.

You will manage multiple projects concurrently, ensuring adherence to all relevant codes, regulations, and permitting requirements. Experience with contract negotiation, vendor management, and construction oversight (even remotely via site representatives) is crucial. The ability to foster a collaborative and productive team environment, despite the remote setting, is paramount. You will leverage project management software and digital collaboration tools to ensure seamless project operations. This role demands exceptional organizational skills, strong leadership capabilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. A Master's degree or PMP certification is a strong advantage.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in civil engineering project management, with a proven track record of successful project delivery.
  • Extensive knowledge of civil engineering disciplines and project management methodologies.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6) and collaboration tools.
  • Demonstrated experience in client relations, contract management, and budget control.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote work environment.
  • Experience with construction means and methods, and ability to interpret construction plans and specifications.
  • Understanding of environmental regulations and permitting processes.
