**Responsibilities**
+ Support specifications and standards in areas such as compound, component, curing process, or uniformity analyses
+ Apply a systematic approach to identify and isolate problems and their root causes to design and implement effective solutions
+ Statistical analysis and data collection through software such as Minitab
+ Determine methods and technology to convert inputs into acceptable outputs with process capability
+ Learn and utilize key chemical manufacturing tools and systems; recommending improvements where needed
+ Apply interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with fellow teammates and achieve common goals
+ Work in a hands-on environment with cross functional teams, at least 50% on floor
+ Utilize project management skills to develop, manage, and control scope, schedule and cost

We are looking for students who are:

+ Excellent communication and presentation skills
**Minimum Qualifications**
To thrive in this role, you need.
+ To be pursuing a degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science or another applicable major and actively enrolled in the degree program at an accredited university
+ To be junior-senior level standing with a GPA of at least 3.0
+ Completed course work in Computer Aided Design (CAD)/AutoCAD
+ To be available to work 40 hours weekly in a 6-month minimum co-op assignment
+ No other work experience is required. We will teach you everything you need to know!

**Job Description**
**AECOM** is seeking a Senior Civil Engineering Specialist to join our Environmental Remediation team in Franklin, TN. The successful candidate will work with a diverse team of technical leaders across a broad range of practice areas delivering professional consulting services to our key clients.
The successful candidate will provide technical skills supporting Environmental Remediation and Coal Ash closure projects within the department and will develop strong relationships with the team and clients to enable pursuit of new opportunities. The successful candidate will have the ability to communicate effectively with members of the project team, clients, site personnel and office management, and work both independently and as part of a project team.
The successful candidate will be committed to the team's success and growth; will rigorously apply safety policies and procedures; will manage the cost and schedule elements of project delivery; and will effectively manage the quality of field efforts and project deliverables within the bounds of the AECOM Quality Management System.
The job responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
+ Work collaboratively with the Remediation team Project Managersand professionals within other AECOM business lines.
+ Function as Senior Civil Engineering Specialist working on projects with various levels of complexity, responsible for delivery, design, schedule, client liaison, reporting requirements, and coordination with project team members.
+ Prepare designs, reports, specifications, and cost estimates for civil and environmental remediation projects , including material excavation and handling, landfill design and construction, dewatering and water treatment, stormwater management, site restoration, environmental permitting, municipal site plans, and similar large scale projects.
+ Work in Computer Aided Design (CAD) applications with technical staff. Strong knowledge or experience in Autodesk Civil 3D experience preferred.
+ Proactively identify opportunities to increase project efficiencies, improve technical methodologies and add value to client service offerings.
+ Mentor junior civil technicians and engineers
**Qualifications**
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
+ BA/BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering + 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
+ 6+ years in remediation related work, including design, surveying and construction related activities
+ 6+ years related management experience.
+ Valid U.S Driver's License and as a condition of employment, must pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records Review.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
+ 10+ years of relevant experience at an engineering and construction industry.
+ Ability to proactively lead technical efforts and project team staff.
+ Experience as Senior Project Engineer on large scale projects, including landfills, material excavation and dewatering, and coal ash closure.
+ OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training certification.
**Additional Information**
+ Sponsorship for US employment authorization is available for this position.
+ Relocation is not available for this position.
Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $115,000.00 - $40,000.00.
