Our Buildings + Places practice includes architecture, interiors, building and system engineering, urbanism, and planning (landscape design), strategy+, economics, technology solutions, asset advisory, cost and program management. Our Colorado studio specializes in commercial, Corporate, Science and Technology, higher education, and Federal market sectors. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
+ Conduct all design-related activities under engineering supervision.

Stantec is seeking experienced Civil Engineering Technologist or Technician focusing on Mission Critical Data Center projects within our Community Development Group. Within this team, you will have the opportunity to work on Data Center projects of various sizes across the country. The Mission Critical space requires a very proactive, responsive, and efficient design team with projects serving Fortune 10 companies who are making headlines with transformational projects. For the right candidate, there is the potential for this to be a remote work position.
The engineers on this team are a core design group dedicated to serving Data Center clients and similar major commercial programs. The projects they work on require a variety and diverse set of skills to assist our clients with site due diligence, design, entitlement approvals, permitting, and construction. Within this team you will be exposed to different design requirements across multiple geographic regions as well as different Mission Critical and commercial projects of various sizes and operational needs.
This position involves working collaboratively within the Mission Critical core design team, project partners, and various different services in the development of private civil site designs; construction plans and specifications; preparing reports, studies, and construction contract documents; computing quantities and preparing opinions of cost; performing field observations and assisting in the coordination and management of construction activities.
**Your Key Responsibilities**
+ Support engineering projects working directly with engineers, project managers, and design team members
+ Deliver high quality drafting of engineering drawings and exhibits
+ Assist with maintaining and further developing drafting standards, mentoring staff, and implement industry leaching technology with respect to CADD and design software
+ Draft plans for civil and related discipline design projects utilizing AutoDesk Civil 3D.

**Pay Range:**
- Locations in MN, VT, & Various CA, NY Areas - Min Salary $ 55,400.00 - Max Salary $ 77,600.00

Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership and strategic direction for the design of industrial control systems.
- Develop and implement efficient, standard, and consistent design practices for hardware and software, ensuring compliance with industry standards.

- Oversee the design of control systems centered around power components for specific applications, with a focus on AC/DC drive control architecture.

- Travel to client sites as needed (approximately 10%-20%).
- 7+ years of experience in the design and implementation of industrial control systems utilizing PLCs, HMIs, and Drives (VFDs and DC Drives).
- 7+ years of experience programming PLCs, HMIs, and related equipment for industrial control systems.
- Minimum 3 years of direct work experience with electrical schematics and panel layouts.
- Demonstrated experience designing control systems around power components for specific applications, with expertise in AC/DC Drive Control Architecture (up to 690V AC and DC Drive applications).
- Prior experience in heavy industrial verticals such as cranes, metal mills, pulp/paper, mining, marine, or steel.
- Exposure to one or more of the following applications: Cranes, Paper, or Steel.
- Proficiency with Rockwell, GE, Siemens, and Schneider PLC Platforms.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Controls Engineering.
- Knowledge of C#, VB, .NET, OPC, and SQL.
- Familiarity with NEC / NFPA70 / UL 508 Standards.
- PLC Programming: Rockwell, GE, Siemens, Schneider platforms.
- HMI Development: Industrial HMI programming.
- Drive Systems: AC/DC Drives (VFDs, DC Drives) up to 690V, Drive Control Architecture.
