Before a road, airfield, or a building can be constructed, all obstacles must be removed from the site. As a Horizontal Construction Engineer in the Army National Guard, you'll handle the heavy lifting to help your crew succeed. You'll operate bulldozers, roadgraders, and other massive equipment to clear the way for construction.

Your responsibilities will include leveling earth for runways and roadbeds, clearing, excavating, and digging areas of construction sites, spreading fill material, transporting heavy construction equipment with a tractor-trailer, moving heavy building materials with cranes, and assisting in performance of combat engineer missions.

SUMMARY: Designs, develops, and implements electrical systems controls/programs for blow molding machines and related equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Designs and modifies electrical systems, including cabinets, layouts, schematics, and control programming for various devices (e.g., motor speed controllers, temperature and pressure controllers).
  • Develops logic systems for sequence and timing control, adhering to electrical standards for machinery design.
  • Creates Bills of Materials for electrical system components and prepares electrical instructions and manuals.
  • Collaborates with other departments to resolve issues related to control systems, machine start-ups, and troubleshooting.
  • Uses CAD and design software to create and modify electrical designs.
  • Conducts trial runs of programmed machines and equipment, verifying system conformity to specifications and assisting with debugging as needed.
  • Travels to customer locations for on-site support and attends engineering meetings to exchange ideas and provide information.
Qualifications

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree (BS) in Electrical Engineering or related field

  • Proficiency in CAD and electrical design software
  • Experience with industrial electronic devices (e.g., Siemens)

+ Lead the design, specification, and review of electrical and instrumentation systems for both new installations and existing projects.

+ Ensure all designs and installations strictly comply with applicable industry codes and standards (e.g., NEC, ISA, IEC, NFPA).
+ Contribute your E&I expertise to safety processes, including HAZOPs, risk assessments, and critical safety reviews.

+ Work with Maintenance & Reliability (M&R) Experts to maintain and drive progress along the site M&R Roadmap.

+ Lead Root Cause Failure Analyses (RCFA) for complex or recurring equipment issues.
+ Lead the Precision and Preventative Maintenance Program, including vibration analysis, laser alignment, balancing, thermal imaging, and ultrasonic inspections; improve existing programs and implement new ones.
+ Participate in site Hazard Assessments (BHA) as the reliability expert and coordinate with off-site experts to resolve material of construction and chemical compatibility issues.

+ Have a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering with over five years of experience as a Maintenance or Reliability Engineer in a chemical manufacturing environment.
+ Demonstrate experience with formal reliability programs such as RCM, including developing, reviewing, and implementing strategic preventive and predictive maintenance procedures.
+ Have thorough knowledge of mechanical equipment design and a strong understanding of maintenance and reliability practices for process equipment such as pumps, piping, pressure vessels, storage tanks, relief devices, compressors, and boilers.
+ Be familiar with technical engineering standards, including pipe specifications, and be able to read and interpret P&IDs, engineering drawings, and vendor documentation.
+ Possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and demonstrate proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office applications.
