We are looking for Entry-Level Engineers to join our teams across North America to work on projects that bring innovative solutions to our clients' challenges locally and worldwide.
This is an exciting opportunity for you to join our team and be involved in a variety of engineering tasks for clients ranging from cities/municipalities to federal government agencies to private manufaturing or data center clients.
In this position you will work with a multidisciplinary team taking on a variety of tasks that blend your theoretical knowledge with practical application. Under the guidance of professional engineers, architects and other senior technical staff you will support your team with project coordination, engineering design utilizing specialty specific software, and data collection/ analysis.
Your responsibilities could also include preparing construction cost estimates, conducting code compliance reviews, performing field investigations, drafting technical reports and memorandums, reviewing equipment submittals & shop drawings, responding to contractor RFIs (Requests for Information), and so much more. You'll take ownership of the completeness, accuracy and timeliness of the work assigned to you by demonstrating the ability to progress from basic design work assignments to more complicated and involved projects working in conjunction with a technical team.

Bachelor's degree in civil engineering and PE License
10 - 20 years experience in Civil Engineering

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare civil design calculations for items such as drainage, grading and ADA compliance, utility, storm water management systems, sanitary water, water main, hydrology/hydraulic studies, earthwork volumes, roadways, and paving. Estimate and calculate quantities from construction drawings both by hand and from digital media.
Draft, review, and finalize site plans, construction plans, and documents for infrastructure and/or land development projects including plan drawings, specifications, bid documents, and quantity/cost estimates.
Ability to analyze survey data and existing site conditions.
Complete edits and modify plans as reviewed by agencies, municipalities, and clients.
Direct and supervise Engineers, Design Technicians, CAD Operators, Surveyors.
Train Junior Professional Surveyors.
Understand the client's design criteria, process, and preferences.
Understand the local codes, ordinances and permitting processes and how to guide a project through the applicable regulatory agencies for approval.
Maintain Client Relations Management through communication and retain new clients.
Day-to-day:
This person will spend 80% of their day managing the drafting and design on projects. Duties that fall into the management of drafting and design are attending meetings with clients/municipalities, preparing engineering estimates, working on proposals, and overseeing site plan submittals. Once the specifications have been collected from a client (they will be a part of those discussions), this person will take the specifications to the drafting team and convey the concept in order to start the drafting process. They will need to be able to discuss with the drafting team how the site plans fit within municipal ordinance. Once the drafting process is started, they'll be working with the drafting team to make sure that all aspects of the draft are aligned with what the client needs (this person will NOT be micromanaging the drafters, rather being a guide for them throughout the drafting and design process). Once the drafts are complete, the drafter(s) will submit the drawings to this person for review. Once they've reviewed them, Rick or Bill will take a look before they're sent off to the client.
The other 20% of their day will be spent taking care of administrative duties. This could be logging, documentation of work, and contacting clients or attending internal meetings.
