This leader administers and oversees day-to-day operations of healthcare facility infrastructure projects for the Henry Ford Health (HFH). The principal responsibilities are to assure successful completion of all infrastructure projects by partnering with system planning and design, and overseeing related construction management, equipment/furnishing, and IT, and supporting occupancy planning. The role reports to the HFH System Vice President of Infrastructure Planning, Design and Construction, with a matrix relationship to all construction project stakeholders. The Director of Infrastructure and Project Management (IPM) will provide leadership and technical expertise for all teams related to construction and capital budget in a team-oriented environment and as needed, support Planning, Design & Construction (PDC) with capital projects. This role is responsible for monitoring day-to-day departmental operational efficiencies and staffing and creating an environment that motivates staff to accomplish successful construction projects in a team environment. Reporting to this position will be Project Manager(s) (currently estimated at one or two). Manages any contracted employees or temporary interns or employees. Hiring and ongoing supervision, including performance reviews and monitoring for all subordinates and those who review others are expected.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
BA or BS degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field is required.
Masters Degree preferred. Ten (10) years of operational facilities experience specifically related to healthcare in a Level 1 Trauma institute.
Five (5) years of experience in a healthcare design and construction leadership role, encompassing planning, design, contract management, in a healthcare setting.
Five (5) years prior supervisory and budget management experience and background.
Five (5) years management experience encompassing technical and staff construction supervision.
Experience with capital planning or management in Hospital or Healthcare organization.
Experience with construction estimating.
Familiarity with academic medical centers and demonstrated ability to work across an integrated delivery system, developing strong partnerships and communicating effective with all organizational stakeholders.
Analytical and quantitative acumen related to construction.
Critical thinking, logic, and analytical ability to identify and assess the strengths and weaknesses of different approaches to project work and operations, identifying the nature of problems, implementing solutions, observing, and evaluating the outcomes of a proposed solution to identify lessons learned or to redirect efforts.
Excellent interpersonal skills required. Must possess strong management skills, with an emphasis on people development.
Must possess ability to be a self-starter and independent worker, able to juggle priorities and manage own work.
Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.

What You Drive at DTNA
- Detroit Series Management for Axles / eDrives:
- Cross-functional Team Leadership: Lead a team of people from all functional areas to evaluate and implement product changes successfully and on-time.
- Change Request (CR) Management: Owner of Change Requests from origination to implementation, ensuring that all cross-functional input is included and that the business case is completed and presented for approval. Ensure measures are Implemented with minimal disruption to Production.
- Detroit Global Interface: Work closely with Kassel Series Management, Global Module Teams and Global Platform Life Cycle Management to review all changes with relevance for US/Detroit.
- Customer Interface: Coordinate changes that impact DTNA, FCCC and/or TBB with our Portland Life Cycle Management customer-facing Team through regular meetings and ensure customer impact statements are documented within the ICM system. Support DTNA's Product and Segment Strategy, Marketing/Sales and Engineering representatives to connect customer specific insights/targets into program launches and product changes.
- Continuous Improvement Champion: Work with the cross-functional team to identify changes that will improve cost & quality of our Axle products. Ensure standard change management processes are followed and identify CI opportunities.
- Project Leadership: Lead cross-functional teams to ensure program criteria/scope, deliverables and milestones are met and that actions are taken to achieve targets and mitigate risks for successful program launches, providing transparency to the organization around the project. Axle/eDrive projects are assigned based on the overall capacity of the Team. Projects are steered based on size and complexity using our standard CVDS processes and Quality Gate structure.
- Uses specific technical knowledge to plan, organize, and control resources, procedures, and timing for technical driven, quality driven, or cost reduction processes and projects

**What you will do:** ** **
Our internship program provides you with the opportunity to learn more about us while you collaborate with peers across North America. As a Construction Project Manager Intern, you may experience and assist in:
· Planning and coordinating assigned projects, establish schedules and project parameters and set procedures to accomplish system objectives. This could include generating tasks, estimates, dependencies; milestones, CPM Analysis; and Histogram Analysis
· Working directly with the engineering team to support engineering programming and material selection activities related to projects.
· Assisting in establishing and maintaining an operations budget for assigned projects by revising the original estimate based on validated project scope and monitoring the accuracy of the forecasted cost at completion by managing expenses.
· Collaborating on preparations for sub-contractor requests for quotations (RFQ), including scope statements; plans and milestone dates; specs; bonding requirements; and billing schedule of values.
· Receiving and qualifying subcontractor proposals; with help supervising the work of project assigned staff, subcontractors and installers.
· Communicating with contractors, subcontractors and owners to discuss scope of project, budgets, performance, and close-out as well as with other team members concerning problems, obstacles, issues, and information needs.
**What you will bring:**
· Actively enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree throughout the entire duration of the summer internship. Strongly preferred degree in Construction Engineering, Building Management, Construction Management, or equivalent degree.
· Candidates must have completed at least their sophomore or 2 nd year before the start of the summer internship to be eligible for internship positions.
· Knowledge of construction management processes, means, and methods.
· Be a U.S. citizen or have the legal right to work in the U.S. without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.
· This posting is for multiple opportunities. Some positions may be remote while others may require a hybrid or onsite assignment at one of our facilities across North America.
· Possess a valid driver's license for a minimum of 12 months, ability to provide proof of insurance, and have no major or frequent traffic violations including, but not limited to:
· DUI in the previous 3 years
· Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless / Careless Driving or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years.
