**Location**
This role will be based out of Kiewit's Lone Tree, CO location.
**Responsibilities**
- Lead highway and civil design teams for major complex projects; performing as Engineer of Record, Task Manager, Discipline Lead, Deputy Project Lead, or Project Lead for Transportation projects across North America,
- Provide oversight and direction to the design team,
- Supervise, mentor, and evaluate mid-level and junior staff,
- Lead a team of experienced staff, promote staff development through training, mentoring, and career planning,
- Oversee/create surface models utilizing OpenRoads Designer, InRoads, Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center and/or other similar design software,
- Lead interdisciplinary design coordination to ensure that project elements are compatible,
- Oversee/create preliminary design concepts and alternatives for highways and civil features to support cost estimating,
- Develop project communications and attend technical meetings, provide coordination to resolve design issues,
- Prepare and implement quality management plans,
- Lead quality control reviews, comment resolution meetings, and verify corrections are completed,
- Manage scope, schedule and budget for the transportation design team,
- Execute final design of project elements such as alignment geometrics, civil design plans design plans, signing and marking plans, maintenance of traffic plans, wall plan and profile sheets, Design Exceptions, Design Deviations, and final Released for Construction (RFC) plans
- Lead project and department level meetings,
- Interface with project stakeholders as needed,
- This position includes travel to project offices and work sites as business necessitates.
**Qualifications**
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related field, MSCE is a plus
- Registered as a Professional Engineer
- Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing
- Minimum of 8 years of civil / highway design experience required
- Experience leading and mentoring junior staff
- Experience developing construction plans for transportation projects
- Experience leading civil design teams
- Experience with design-build/alternative delivery preferred
- Experience with developing roadway design documentation and calculation packages

**Responsibilities**
- Developing schedules for estimates and current projects.
- Preform company scheduling procedures and reporting.
- Coordination with project teams to assess reporting and identify risk and create accurate forecasts.
**Qualifications**
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related degree required
- 0-2 years of scheduling experience preferred
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications

LocationThis position is based out of our Lone Tree, CO office.
ResponsibilitiesThe candidate will be part of a design team responsible for completing engineering assignments in support of heavy civil construction for Kiewit Construction Companies business including roadway, drainage, utility design, preparation of design plans, and technical reports. Key responsibilities include the following:
- In office work primarily
- Work with engineering teams in developing preliminary and final design plans and details for roadway, drainage, and utility projects
- Participate in design reviews to evaluate design concepts and make recommendations
- Use MicroStation, AutoCAD, ArcGIS, OpenRoads Designer, Civil3D, and other civil engineering design software
- Prepares progress reports and provides task updates during team meetings
- Verbal and written communication skills including the ability to write technical memos and papers, and present technical topics
- Ability to multitask on various tasks given a set list of assignments and priorities
- Produce documents with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
- Follow various DOT Standards and work with companies CAD Standards when applicable
- Assist Production CAD Manager in implementation of project standards and presentations
- Participate and assist with the development of team software training materials
- Associates degree in computer-aided design, 3D modeling, drafting, survey or similar program experience
- 5+ years experience in CAD design and plan set production for roadway, drainage, and utility projects
- Proficient in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation (2D & 3D)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
- Experience with Civil 3D, Bentley InRoads, Bentley OpenRoads Designer, Revit is an advantage
- General knowledge of engineering principles and materials for civil engineering work
- Ability to comprehend civil engineering drawings
- Capable of recognizing discrepancies with strong attention to detail
- Critical thinking skills necessary with the ability to plan ahead and conceptualize
- The ability to clearly communicate and collaborate with team members
- Regular, reliable attendance
- Work productively and meet deadlines timely
- Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment

Base Compensation: $70,000/yr - $88,000/yr (Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
