Qualifications
- Pursuing an ABET EAC certified degree in Engineering required
- A degree in one of the following majors preferred :
- Mechanical Engineering
- Industrial Engineering
- Agricultural Engineering
- Aerospace Engineering
- A degree in one of the following majors preferred :
- Completion of Degree prior to start date required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must be able to work with team members and work with minimal supervision
- Must be willing to travel up to 25% of the time, potentially on short notice, which may include flying
- Prior interaction with Altec team at a recruitment event or past intern/coop exp with Altec highly preferred
Responsibilities
- Ensures manufacturing is building product in conformance to current engineering documentation
- Reviews the design of components and parts for design-for-manufacturability
- Monitors costs, manpower efficiency, machine capability, space utilization, etc. and recommend as appropriate revisions in manufacturing methods
- Participates and leads continuous improvement efforts in the areas of Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety, and Productivity
- Leads the integration of new designs into Manufacturing
- Drives implementation of capital projects
- Participates and contribute productively as part of Altec's team-oriented design, manufacture and customer service/support efforts
- Operates with some decision-making latitude within the scope of an assignment
- Knows and applies fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures in the engineering field
- Supports Operations, Sales, and Service
- Interfaces directly with Suppliers and Customers
- Utilizes Lean principles to improve our products and processes
- May manage various sizes of Altec projects and/or act as Team Lead.

Urban Engineers is seeking a qualified individual in Philadelphia, PA to join our team as a Graduate or EIT Marine Structural Engineer. This individual will work under the supervision of a Professional Engineer to support design and inspection efforts on a variety of projects in the Ports & Waterways Practice. The work will focus primarily on Geotechnical and Structural engineering around maritime infrastructure, but many projects will also overlap with other Civil Engineering disciplines, like Environmental and Land Development. While no project is typical in the marine field, our projects often involve: marine retaining walls; structures to resist the lateral berthing, breasting, and mooring forces of large vessels; pile installation and dynamic testing; and the design of retrofits to ageing infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Provide support for structural engineering design of new and existing maritime structures.
- Participate in waterfront condition inspections and the inspection of maritime construction projects.
- Provide support for submittal review of maritime construction projects.
Requirements :
- Required - Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from an ABET Accredited Program.
- Engineer-In-Training license, preferred

Primary Function:
This position provides the opportunity to work on a variety of water and wastewater projects, including treatment plants, pipelines, pump stations, and infrastructure design. Primary Duties:
- Assist in the design and analysis of water/wastewater treatment facilities, distribution systems, and collection networks.
