Job Description
As a Senior Environmental Management Specialist, you will work under general supervision to provide solutions to moderately complex environmental issues that require data analysis and evaluation of identifiable factors. You will independently conduct inspections, reviews, and research; and compile and analyze data to support annual metrics, tracking, reporting, and progress toward goals. As part of the Maritime Environment & Sustainability (ME&S) Planning and Permitting Team, you will secure required local, state, and federal approvals for capital and expense projects, while serving as a liaison with Port business units, regulatory agencies, tribes, interested parties, and the public. You will also support sustainability goals, planning studies, regulatory advocacy, and other initiatives that advance the Port's vision to be the greenest Port in North America.
+ You will support environmental analyses required for SEPA/NEPA reviews by developing scopes, schedules, and budgets of environmental studies; summarizing and analyzing findings; and conveying technical recommendations to Port staff, with guidance from Environmental Managers.
+ You will prepare permit applications for routine construction projects and manage permit approval in coordination with regulatory agencies such as the Corps of Engineers, City of Seattle, and the State Departments of Ecology, Fish and Wildlife, and Natural Resources.
+ You will coordinate and oversee consultant support for environmental reviews and permits review deliverables, and manage consultant scope, schedule, and budget.
+ You will incorporate sustainability and equitable development principles into project planning and design through the Sustainable Evaluation Framework and ensure these elements are reflected in final project designs, with support from Environmental Managers.
+ You will evaluate proposed actions, identify potential environmental impacts, determine the level of environmental review and permitting required, and review design plans and specifications with Environmental Manager support.
+ You will stay current on applicable environmental regulations, permits, and policies, and communicate key updates and recommendations to Environmental Managers, Project Managers, Engineers, and other interested parties.
+ You will deliver presentations on environmental and sustainability topics to Port employees, interested parties, and members of the public.
+ You will develop educational materials and train internal teams, tenants, agencies, and interested parties on environmental programs and initiatives to ensure understanding and compliance.
+ You will support the project and program budget management and development and assist with grant compliance and reporting requirements.
+ You will coordinate contract management with the Department Contract Specialist and Central Procurement Office by supporting contract amendments, service directives, and invoice approvals. #ZR
**Who you are:**
+ **Experienced** - You have two (2) years of environmental and/or sustainability experience.
+ **Desired** - We hope you have a bachelor's degree in environmental or physical sciences, engineering, economics, environmental management, planning or policy. We hope you have a certification, such as a Professional Geologist, Registered Architect, American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP), LEED Accredited Professional (LEED-AP), Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Environmental Professional (CEP) or Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS).

+ **Analytical** - You possess well-developed research, analysis and problem-solving skills. You can also collect, analyze and interpret complex environmental data and are proficient in the use of spreadsheet and database software applications.
+ **Program Management** - You can plan, coordinate and manage a variety of complex environmental project/ program functions and activities. You can also assess complex environmental issues and participate in the development of strategic, innovative or unprecedented resolutions.
**What else you need to know:**
+ **Work Schedule** - Your normal work schedule will be Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (40 hours per week). Slightly more flexible start and end times are available in this role. You may be required to work during emergencies.
+ **Work Environment** - This work will take place in a hybrid/in-office setting at Management's discretion.
+ **Washington State Residency Requirement** - Employees must establish a residence in Washington state within 30 days of their first day of employment and must maintain a residence in Washington State during their employment with the Port of Seattle. If a position is eligible to telework, work performed while teleworking must be performed in Washington State.

This position will be responsible for the oversight of the sector wide SHE management system, including ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and Business Continuity Management (BCM). 7. Responsible for the overall internal SHE assurance program, including process, training, and audit scheduling to meet internal and external requirements.
8. Oversee the external audit process and work to organize schedules, support audits and ensure sites are prepared to support the audit scope. .
9. Collaborate and generate strategies to develop management system improvement plans as part of a journey to achieve World Class SHE performance
10. Provide managerial support to direct reports in order maximize their performance and development.

The department of Crop, Soil, and Environmental Sciences at Auburn University is seeking a candidate for the position of Post-Doctoral Fellow. This is a benefits eligible, non-tenure track position. The appointment is for an initial period of two years, with the possibility of renewal up to a maximum of a four year period depending on performance and funding availability.
The individual selected for this position will work in environmental nutrient management with a focus on understanding nutrient mineralization of animal manures, as well as their fate and transport in the environment. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
1) Conducting laboratory, greenhouse, and field experiments on manure mineralization; 2) operation of analytical instruments such asICP -AES , Ion chromatography (IC), and UV-VIS , including quality control and quality assurance; 3) management and organization of data; 4) supervision of graduate students and undergraduate student workers; and 5) dissemination of research findings through presentations at field days, workshops, national conferences, and manuscript preparation for submission to peer reviewed journal articles.
