**Foth** is currently seeking a team-focused, creative, and results-oriented **Environmental Scientist/Hydrogeologist** who has a desire to contribute to our clients' success and is looking for new learning experiences and opportunities for career growth. This position will be working out of our **Duluth, MN** or **Lake Elmo, MN** location, and is a **mixture of field and office** support.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Conduct field investigations
+ Assist in the development of environmental review documentation
+ Assist in preparing regulatory compliance plans and reports
+ Prepare permit submittals to regulatory agencies
+ Research, compile, analyze, and interpret environmental data using Equis and other similar tools
+ Prepare sampling plans and collect field sampling data (soil, sediment, groundwater, and surface water quantity and quality)
+ Manage drilling contractors, well construction and hydrogeologic investigations
+ Assist with conducting surface water and groundwater field data acquisition and statistical analysis
+ Identify and proactively communicate opportunities to address client issues, solve problems, and improve operations
**Required Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Hydrogeology, Geology, Environmental Science, Civil, Geotechnical, or Environmental Engineering, or related field
+ 5+ years of experience with an environmental consulting firm
+ Demonstrated experience preparing technical reports and environmental documentation
+ Demonstrated experience in planning and leading hydrogeologic field studies
+ Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
+ GIT, EIT, or other related certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Master's of Science in hydrogeology or water resources
+ PG, PE or CPG
+ Previous experience with the following:
+ Hydrologic modeling and GIS software
+ Environmental sampling of surface water, groundwater, and soil
+ Environmental statistical analysis
+ Prior experience with geologic visualization software like Leapfrog or similar tools
The base compensation listed for this job posting reflects a general range for the posted position. Base compensation will vary based on factors such as: years of experience, location, level of responsibility and licenses/certifications. In addition to base compensation, Foth members may be eligible to receive bonuses through our Earned Performance Incentive program. All employees are eligible for On-the-Spot bonuses. Exempt members are also eligible for either quarterly and/or annual bonuses. Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Staff Environmental Scientist (Permitting Specialist) to join our environmental permitting team in the Minneapolis-St. Paul Office. This position will require knowledge of the federal, state, and local permitting requirements associated with the development and construction of new projects throughout the U.S. in market sectors such as oil and gas, electric, and renewables.
Responsibilities will include:
+ Coordinating with project teams on a variety of tasks, including completion of field surveys, environmental permitting with federal, state, and local agencies, and review of necessary project reports and materials.
+ Daily interfacing with various agencies to obtain approvals, submit permit applications, and prepare responses in a timely manner.
+ Applying technical and creative solutions to environmental permitting.
+ Advising clients and team members of appropriate strategies to obtain permits and maintain compliance with regulations and permit conditions.
+ Managing work within budget and schedule expectations for each project.
+ Ensure compliance with company and site safety policies.
+ All other duties as assigned.
+ Travel may be required as necessary and required by project or client commitments.
**Qualifications**
+ B.S. or M.S. in environmental science, environmental planning, biology, ecology, or related field from an accredited program.
+ Minimum 4 years of related professional experience, consulting preferred.
+ Knowledge of regulations and permitting requirements for wetlands, threatened and endangered species, National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System permits, stormwater and erosion & sediment control, cultural resources and architectural history, and the National Environmental Policy Act.
+ Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to collaborate with a team.
+ Ability to manage in a dynamic team environment, work under pressure to meet deadlines, and work effectively and professionally with various audiences (i.e., regulators, public officials, clients, etc.).
+ Ability to travel outside of normal working hours, including weekends.
+ Ability to clearly communicate both verbal and written technical information.
+ Proficient in the use of computer software (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
+ Valid driver's license required; in addition, must meet standards to qualify for and maintain the Company's vehicle driving privileges as outlined in the Company's Motor Vehicle Safety Policy
**Compensation**

The expected compensation range for this position is displayed in compliance with all local/state regulations. The total annual compensation package will consist of a base salary and eligibility to participate in our discretionary year-end incentive bonus program.
