_This position is expected to begin in Spring/Summer 2026 or as discussed._
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
+ Assisting the lead Ecologist/Wetland Scientist in performing stream, wetland, wildlife habitat assessments, and other ecological surveys.
+ Assisting ecological leads with processing field data and development/originating ecological assessment reports and utilization equipment such as tablets and GPS units.
+ Assisting with coordination of various governmental agencies regarding ecological survey protocols, reporting standards, or endangered and threatened species coordination.
+ Reviewing desktop information to complete environmental impact assessments.
+ Working with the team leads to become familiar with our field survey equipment, data forms and other data collection and reporting tools.
+ Assisting in preparing permit applications and other technical information.
+ Collects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer/scientist.
+ Uses computer software as a tool for data management and calculations.
+ Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision.
+ Local travel is likely and U.S travel possible and project dependent.
**Qualifications**
**Minimum Requirements:**
+ Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Environmental Studies, Biology, or related field.
+ Valid US Driver's License is required for this position.
+ As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review and a substance abuse test.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ General knowledge of basic environmental sciences.
+ Proficiency in standard office suite software applications.
+ OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER Certification.
+ Ability to demonstrate professional demeanor in written and verbal communications with clients, regulatory officials, and fellow employees.
+ Ability to write and to convey complex thoughts and ideas in a clear, concise manner.
+ Ability to learn through on-the-job experience.
+ Tolerance for work in outdoor environments in a range of weather conditions.
+ Ability to work independently, both in an office environment and in the field.
+ Ability to travel locally, including occasional extended travel.

**Job Description**
**AECOM is hosting an exclusive, invitation-only hiring event in Philadelphia on October 9-10, 2025** . This is a great opportunity to learn and connect with AECOM for career opportunities starting Spring/Summer 2026.
**The event kicks off on Thursday evening with a networking mixer from 6-8 pm** , where you can hear from AECOM staff about various projects, career paths, and the company itself. **AECOM** is seeking an **Entry-Level Environmental Scientist** to be based in our **Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, or Virginia** office.
_This position is expected to begin in Spring/Summer 2026 or as discussed._
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
+ Assisting the lead Ecologist/Wetland Scientist in performing stream, wetland, wildlife habitat assessments, and other ecological surveys.
+ Assisting ecological leads with processing field data and development/originating ecological assessment reports and utilization equipment such as tablets and GPS units.
+ Assisting with coordination of various governmental agencies regarding ecological survey protocols, reporting standards, or endangered and threatened species coordination.
+ Reviewing desktop information to complete environmental impact assessments.
+ Working with the team leads to become familiar with our field survey equipment, data forms and other data collection and reporting tools.
+ Assisting in preparing permit applications and other technical information.
+ Collects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer/scientist.
+ Uses computer software as a tool for data management and calculations.
+ Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision.
+ Local travel is likely and U.S travel possible and project dependent.
**Qualifications**
**Minimum Requirements:**
+ Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Environmental Studies, Biology, or related field.
+ Valid US Driver's License is required for this position.
+ As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review and a substance abuse test.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ General knowledge of basic environmental sciences.
+ Proficiency in standard office suite software applications.
+ OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER Certification.
+ Ability to demonstrate professional demeanor in written and verbal communications with clients, regulatory officials, and fellow employees.
+ Ability to write and to convey complex thoughts and ideas in a clear, concise manner.
+ Ability to learn through on-the-job experience.
+ Tolerance for work in outdoor environments in a range of weather conditions.
+ Ability to work independently, both in an office environment and in the field.
+ Ability to travel locally, including occasional extended travel.

+ The position requires fieldwork, and the candidate must have reliable transportation and be able to travel overnight.
+ Travel is required for this position. Clean driving record and a valid driver's license is required.
