The role you'll contribute:
Provides supervision for the daily functions and activities within environmental services department. Is responsible for supervising EVS staff to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness are met for the hospital and adjacent facilities. Promotes teamwork to ensure work is completed timely and helps maintain an efficient and safe working environment. Assumes responsibility of day, evening or night shift operation of the EVS department and related responsibilities.

Coordinator, Facilities Maintenance I (Nights)
Position Objective
The Facilities Maintenance Coordinator I performs routine maintenance services for the facility and assist with other general maintenance that is within the scope of the individual's skills in accordance with standardized processes and methods.
Primary Responsibilities
- May perform periodic maintenance as required. May also perform facility repairs including routine plumbing. Cleans machinery as instructed. May assist in the installation of new equipment.
- May be required to pick-up or drop off materials or supplies. May be requested to maintain company vehicle service requirements.
- Responsible for reporting any maintenance requirements that may not otherwise have been identified.
- Ensures adequate supplies of stock for maintenance is maintained.
- May be required to assist maintenance - skilled in performing non-technical requirements of tasks being performed.
- May be responsible for maintaining cleanliness of facility, including removal of garbage, re-cycle paper/cardboard bins, sweeping, damp mopping, vacuuming, and cleaning washrooms. Ensure that all paper supplies for kitchens/cafeterias, washrooms, and eye cleaning stations are in place.
- Maintains exterior and interior appearance of facility, painting, windows, walkways cleared of debris/snow, cuts grass, weed control, trim shrubs, and may perform maintenance and repairs on irrigation system.
- Act as the facility's "Hazardous waste coordinators", responsible for handling hazardous chemicals and managing the accumulation, storage and disposal of hazardous waste during per applicable regulatory requirements.

- A minimum of 6 month's work-related experience or training.
- Ability to read, write, communicate and comprehend written work instructions.

Job Summary
The Facilities Preventative Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing scheduled maintenance and inspections on a wide range of systems and equipment. The Technician will also assist in equipment commissioning, procedure documentation, and supports general facility operations, including projects, events, and work orders as needed. This is NOT a remote position.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintains a transparent, effective relationship with the Director of Facilities and Facilities Manager and supports the organization's activities
- Fosters an environment and culture that focuses on fulfilling the company's mission, vision, and values
- Performs preventative maintenance on:

- Portable and diesel generators
- HVAC systems (e.g., RTUs, air handlers, mini splits)
- Exterior lighting and light poles
- Water heaters and plumbing components
- Lift stations and wastewater systems
- Life safety equipment (NFPA-compliant), including emergency lighting, extinguishers, alarms, and exit signage
- Exhaust fans and ventilation systems
- Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems
- Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
- Fleet vehicles, including routine inspections and basic servicing
- Travels to multiple locations to ensure safe, efficient, and clean operations
- Understands electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems
- Work with members of the Leadership Team to ensure the necessary building safety and inspection information is up to date, including safety signage, OSHA regulations, safety lighting, monthly inspections, etc.
- Accountable for equipment and supplies inventory and monitoring work areas to ensure they are clean, safe, and orderly
- Promptly address any hazardous conditions and equipment
- Utilize the facility inspection system
- Contributes to a professional and courteous environment for patients, staff, and guests
- Exercises knowledge of commissioning processes and documentation standards
- Reads equipment manuals, drawings, and schematics
- Plan and carry out the maintenance and cleaning of equipment or machinery in the facilities department
- Manages relationships with facilities and custodial-related vendors, external service providers, and community facility owners for proper compliance and expected preventative service levels
- Coordinate on-demand maintenance utilizing an electronic ticket system (ex. Zendesk)
- Conduct regular facility walk-throughs and inspections to review the status and needed maintenance, safety hazards, etc.
- Work as needed for any after-hours work, weekend maintenance or cleaning, or special events that may be scheduled
- Ensures all facilities maintenance is done in compliance and knowledge of all applicable building codes, company policies, and regulatory agencies
- Maintain knowledge in the prevention, mitigation, and preparation of strategies to respond in the event of a natural or man-made disaster
- Participate in the facilities department's emergency response during unexpected severe events caused by natural or man-made disasters

The Maintenance/Facility Manager is responsible for coordinating and supervising the work of multi-shift maintenance staff to ensure safe and efficient operations of the facility, grounds, and to perform project related work to help maintain or improve the organization. The position requires an individual who enjoys the challenge of troubleshooting and correcting mechanical and electrical issues and someone who is willing to work when and where needed, including nights and weekends when required.
The Leader manages hourly technicians, tracks performance of techs and projects, and report status on expense and capital budgets within their responsibility. The Leader is responsible project work and may be required to perform maintenance duties as required.

+ Supervises, assigns, and inspects work for the facility and project work of maintenance employees, project workers, and outside contractors.

+ Coordinates major equipment maintenance tasks and responds to service requests, installs, inspects, repairs, and communicates results.

Required Qualifications:

+ Associate's degree or equivalent level of work experience will be considered with a willingness to pursue advanced learning required.
+ Technical training in the areas of electrical, mechanical, plumbing and other related fields. Formal training may be considered as substitution for experience requirements.
+ Advance computer knowledge, including Mechanical Drawing, PLC's, NC equipment, and other applications.
+ Must have excellent verbal, written and presentation communications skills, as well as experience communicating with technical and cross-functional teams.
+ Must have a proven track record of being able to influence and coordinate personnel and resources not within their immediate control.
