Definition of Position :

Epic Analyst will possess strong technical proficiency and advanced skills to support, design, configure, and maintain Epic applications. This role involves a variety of duties, including but not limited to analysis, design, build, testing, documentation, training, implementation, reporting, and user support. Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions :

  • Collaborate with clinical leadership, staff, and IT teams to design and configure Epic workflows tailored to specific clinical departments, such as Nursing, Radiology, Pharmacy, and others.
  • Engage in ongoing analysis of operational workflows to ensure system functionality aligns with clinical needs and supports accurate data collection.
  • Provide in-depth support for Epic applications, including EpicCare Inpatient, ASAP, OpTime, Radiant, MyChart, Stork, Cadence, and other Epic modules, ensuring systems are fully optimized.
  • Independently handle the creation of specifications, analysis of existing system logic, and the revision of configurations based on evolving needs.
  • Manage and coordinate the delivery of small to medium-sized projects across multiple Epic modules, ensuring timely execution and adherence to project goals.
  • Participate in system testing, ensuring all configurations are thoroughly validated before being moved into production.
  • Offer training and support for end-users, super-users, and core teams, ensuring users understand and maximize the functionality of the Epic applications.
  • Serve as a point of contact for troubleshooting and resolving user issues, demonstrating problem-solving skills and technical expertise in Epic applications.
  • Participate in on-call rotations, providing after-hours support as needed.
  • Collaborate with vendors and external partners as necessary to implement and maintain third-party applications integrated with Epic.
  • Document system changes and updates, maintaining accurate and detailed records for future reference.
Qualifications

Qualifications:

Education

Required: Associate degree minimum in a related field (Nursing, Medical Technology, Pharmacy, etc.) or may substitute an equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred: BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing)

Licenses/ certifications/ registrations

Required: Epic certification or proficiency in at least one Epic application (e.g., EpicCare Inpatient, ASAP, OpTime, etc.).

Preferred: Additional Epic certifications or specialized training related to the candidate's area of expertise.

Experience

Required: At least 2-3 years of experience working with Epic software in a clinical or healthcare setting (e.g., Nursing, Pharmacy, Radiology, or a medical group specialty such as Family Medicine or OB/GYN). Demonstrated experience in Epic build, support, and implementation.

Preferred: Previous experience as an Epic Analyst, with hands-on knowledge of at least one Epic module (e.g., EpicCare Inpatient, Cadence, Radiant, MyChart, etc.), and proficiency in office automation tools, reporting software, and non-HIS applications.

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Occasional walking, standing, bending, or lifting light office items (up to 25 pounds). May be required to move throughout the healthcare facility, including administrative and clinical areas.

Working Conditions:

This position operates in a professional office setting within a healthcare facility. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB

This role required someone who has had their Epic PB Certification for 3-7 years and experience using it.

An Epic Analyst works to build and support one or more Epic modules for live and implementing customers. This individual will work with clinical, administrative, and revenue cycle users to support nephrology practices using the Epic CKD product by performing day-to-day maintenance of the Epic system, enhancement build, and new implementation build. General Information about the Epic CKD Team:

DaVita Physicians Solutions has established a partnership with Epic, the market leader in Electronic Health Records (EHRs), with the goal of maximizing physician satisfaction and improving the quality outcomes of Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) patients.

The tools and support the team delivers are used by nephrology practices to manage CKD patient populations in promoting better outcomes and interoperability, while improving physician experience and aiding in revenue cycle practice management.

DaVita Physician Solutions CKD EHR by Epic, is offered to nephrology practices that are independently owned and operated. Many of these practices are smaller than typical Epic customers and value independence while leveraging the best available industry technology.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Incident and request resolution- 30%

  • Monitor ServiceNow for incidents and requests assigned to team
  • Follow-up with requesters as needed for additional information
  • Update status and document notes and resolution
  • Manage team-owned workqueues and error logs
  • Some on-call responsibilities for urgent issues
  • Management of workqueues and error queues
  • Documenting and migrating build

2. Implementation support- 30%

  • Assist in requirements gathering, workflow analysis, build, testing, and go-live phases of the implementation
  • Support users and training team with build fixes and responding to questions about workflow design
  • Implementation support for new practices and new modules
