**Job Responsibilities**
Leads guests on organized and educational excursions
Provide leadership and training for level I & II guides
The Recreation Worker Lead will greet guests and provide an orientation of all safety and necessary equipment concerns, basic etiquette, area regulations, safety procedures, resource protection
Adheres to safety policies and procedures to ensure safety of guests
Guides will ensure guide compliance with operations Manual and Contracts
Be aware of MSDS sheets books and be able to use this information when necessary
Guides should test the communications equipment prior to operation
Must be a knowledgeable guide for clients, and provide support and reassurance
Guides will be responsible for educating self on the local ecology, geology, history and culture to be well-prepared to provide information and answer guest?s questions.
Ability to provide interpretation in a variety of settings
Ability to choreograph your tour to educate and engage visitors of all ages and backgrounds.
Adheres to cash handling policies and procedures
Ensures security of company assets and a safe work environment through daily maintenance and housekeeping

**Qualifications**

The Department of Animal Sciences at Colorado State University supports Colorado's vast and diverse equine and livestock industries and is responsible for educating approximately 900 undergraduate and 60 graduate students annually. Programs of study are offered to students majoring in Equine Science and Animal Science. The Equine Science major is supported by nationally recognized teaching, research, and outreach programs and consists of 11 faculty members and over 350 undergraduate and graduate students. The CSU main campus sits at the eastern base of the Rocky Mountains one hour north of metro Denver. This location offers excellent access to transportation, all outdoor interests, and a broad cross-section of equine and livestock industries and their trade organizations. The Equine Science Program at the Foothills Campus is housed on approximately 80 acres and is home to four barns, three indoor arenas, an outdoor arena, multiple indoor stalls and outdoor pens. The Temple Grandin Equine Center ( TGEC ) is the newest facility at the Foothills Campus and will be home to CSU's equine-assisted services program, education, and research. The TGEC has a second location of programming located at the CSU Spur Campus in Denver, CO at the National Western Center.
Position Summary
This part time staff position provides care and maintenance of horses and facilities utilized by the CSU Dept. of Animal Sciences/Equine Sciences program at the Temple Grandin Equine Center at the SPUR campus located in Denver, Colorado. Duties include:
+ Allocates hay, grain, and all feed, based on the specific dietary needs of each animal.
+ Provides turnout and/or exercise for each horse based upon condition of each horse and weather.
+ Monitors feed supply, bedding supply, and facility repair material inventory.
+ Provides facility cleaning, care and maintenance based upon facility usage and necessary conditions for clientele.
+ Notifies supervisor of purchasing/supply needs.
+ Other tasks and duties as assigned by supervisor.
Required Job Qualifications
+ A High School Diploma, General Education Development ( GED ), or equivalent.
+ Experience caring for horses including feeding, providing housing, monitoring general health and providing basic veterinarian care, blanketing horses, leading, walking, and transporting horses, and evaluating horses for lameness, vices, or other unwanted conditions.
+ Ability to lift up to 80 pounds (hay bales) approximately four times per day (with equipment to help lift and transport the hay).
+ Ability to work in inclement weather, including dust, moist, hot and cold conditions.

Position Summary
This Part-time Veterinary Technician Assistant position primarily provides support for the technicians and patients within Equine Critical Care, Medicine, Surgery & Lameness and Ophthalmology services whose care are being overseen by faculty, residents and interns. This position requires a basic knowledge of various medical procedures, biosecurity surveillance, and proper equipment usage. This position will assist in the case management on a day-to-day basis by providing support services such as stocking, cleaning and maintaining equipment after use, and providing continuity of patient care with the guidance and oversight of the primary technician on shift. This position should have the availability to work holidays, overnights, and weekends as we are a 24/7/365 hospital.
Required Job Qualifications

+ The Animal Care Technician I will change and/or clean soiled animal cages and/or pens, feeding devices and watering devices.
+ Evaluate the basic health status of animals and reports abnormalities to the appropriate personnel. Clean/sanitize at regular intervals direct and indirect animal contact surfaces by washing with appropriate detergents/disinfectants.
+ Record daily animal care activities on room check-sheets, enter work activities into database, and contact appropriate personnel regarding dead/sick animals via e-mail or phone.
+ Collect soiled animal bedding and other wastes and transports to designated waste disposal sites (i.e. cage wash room or dumpster).
+ Procure animal feed, bedding and supplies from appropriate support areas and transport to required use site. Weigh, administer medications, breed, record breeding status data, euthanize, restrain, and transport laboratory animals as directed by supervisor or veterinarian.
+ Scan cage cards to record animal census in the animal rooms and posts reports every week.
+ Select, prepare, dispense and utilize hazardous chemicals and disinfectants according to manufacturer's instructions in cleaning and sanitizing animal rooms, racks, cages and pens and animal support areas.
+ Operate mechanical equipment such as floor buffers, high pressure washers, laundry equipment, and environmental monitoring equipment for cleaning/sanitizing purposes.
+ Clean/sanitize/disinfects animal holding rooms, procedure rooms, support rooms.
+ On occasion may be required to drive a University vehicle to transport animals in cases of emergency.
