4. Ensures that supplies, equipment and instrumentation are available.

**Position Summary:**
As an Equipment Technician, you will perform preventative maintenance and repair malfunctioning new and existing minor equipment. In doing so, you will manage and document your work orders, respond to supervisory alarms during business hours, and complete routine inspections on equipment.
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Perform and document scheduled preventative maintenance on minor equipment
+ Perform minor repairs to malfunctioning equipment per work orders

**Key Role Responsibilities - Core**
_EQUIPMENT TECHNICIAN FAMILY - CORE_
+ Subject matter expert for one or more equipment lines of the Blue Hat rental fleet.
+ Performs routine preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs on breakdowns for equipment per manufacturers' specifications.
+ Leads on-site assembly/disassembly activities on selected specialty equipment lines.
+ Instructs customers on proper operation and maintenance of equipment as required.
+ Troubleshoots equipment breakdowns on site or over the phone with Field Operations using effective communication skills.
+ Documents accurately (on paper or digitally) completed maintenance, repairs and inspections on equipment per company processes.
+ Communicates in a timely manner with internal and external business partners by answering phone calls and responding to emails for maintenance related questions.
+ Orders parts for equipment repair utilizing the internal process. Determines correct parts using the manufacturers' requirements and specifications.
+ Receives, organizes, stores, and distributes equipment, parts, and supplies as needed.
+ Coordinates and organizes efficient storage of Blue Hat fleet.

JOB SUMMARY
The Equipment Technician will be responsible for field equipment maintenance and readiness and will work under the direction of the Equipment Supervisor for specific task assignments. Tasks consist of refurbishment, repair and calibration of weld systems in preparation for field and/or in-house use.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain, calibrate, troubleshoot, ship, receive and reconcile the field equipment.
- Complete maintenance records.
- Cooperate with engineering, project management and site personnel to support job requirements.
- Maintain housekeeping.
- Comply with safety rules and environmental regulations.
- Be aware of departmental Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
- Any other duties assigned by your supervisor.
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
- Education: Associate degree in Electronics or Electro/Mechanical Technology, Specialized military training in an Electro/Mechanical field or three years of equivalent industry experience is required.
- Safety training in an industrial environment.
- Ability to operate forklift equipment.
- Two years’ experience working with and around industrial equipment.
- Ability to read schematics, follow signal paths and troubleshoot to component level, PLC and Relay Logic Circuits with supervision.
- Average computer skills in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to lift, move and carry equipment, materials, with the stamina to perform physically demanding tasks. Will regularly be working with objects around 50lbs.
- Technical Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude with experience using hand and power tools.
- Problem Solving: Proven ability to troubleshoot and diagnose issues across multiple building systems, and ability in safe conduct and work initiative.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work conditions are office and a repair shop facility day shift, unless field services are required. Exposure to extremely noisy areas, confined spaces, elevated areas, extreme temperatures and humidity, climb vertical ladders. Strong possible exposure to radiological, chemical, petroleum lead, biohazard, dangerous vapors and gases, molten metals and electrical hazards. Must be willing to work in a nuclear, power generation, petroleum and chemical environment.
