Our work depends on a Human Factors Engineer joining our team remotely to support the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) activities. Work visa sponsorship will not be provided for this position.

As a Human Factors Engineer supporting CMS, you will be trusted to apply human performance principles, methodologies, and technologies to the design of systems and products. You will work hand-in-hand with our CMS customer, applying a user centric design approach to understand what users need and addressing the entire experience from start to finish supporting Marketplace initiatives. In this role, a typical day will include:
+ Responsible for a full lifecycle of responsive design, including: content-first design, logic flows, storyboards, personas, wireframes, low fidelity mock-ups, sitemaps, high fidelity prototypes, and UI specifications, to provide end-to-end dynamic, database driven design flows
+ Working in an Agile software development environment, team with product owners, business analysts, and product development to clarify and define business requirements as they apply to the UI.
+ Constructing page design using prototyping tools such as Axure, Balsamiq and/or Sketch.
+ Crafting UX engagements, specifically in a graphical user interface (GUI) environment, that exceed customer expectations by partnering with key product stakeholders to understand and support product business goals, advocating human-centered design (HCD) industry best practices
+ Analyzing available usage metrics for trends, patterns, issues, and opportunities for UX optimization.
+ Analyze, document and communicate system and business processes
+ Facilitate and validate the development of system solutions to satisfy customer's business needs
+ Conduct software presentations and provide technical supports to existing and prospective customers
+ Assist breaking down roadmaps into epics and decompose into user stories
+ Working with the agile team and stakeholders to contribute to the drafting of user stories
+ Participating as a domain expert in customer-facing meetings to facilitate discussions regarding provider enrollment initiatives
+ Interviewing and interfacing with value streams to obtain needed business requirements
+ Supporting the collection and reporting of requirements related metrics
+ Providing additional support and guidance to clients during the implementation phase, to include development of training resources
+ Researching, reviewing, and analyzing the effectiveness and efficiency of existing requirements gathering processes and developing strategies for enhancing or further leveraging these processes
**WHAT YOU'LL NEED:**
+ Bachelor's degree and 0-2 years of **total** work experience.
+ User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI) Design experience, for dynamic, database or bootstrap driven web sites, mobile devices or content management systems.
+ Experience using **Axure** to design wireframes and low, mid and high-fidelity prototypes. Experience with Balsamiq, Photoshop, and/or Sketch will also be considered, but preference given to Axure experience.
+ Experience developing user personas.
+ Experience creating journey maps and documenting user journeys.
+ Exposure to planning and conducting user research, usability testing and design validation.
+ Understanding of human-centered design (HCD) patterns and best practices.
+ Working knowledge of Government regulations, including Section 508 compliance and accessibility.
+ Candidate must be able to obtain Public Trust clearance.
+ Candidate must have lived in the United States at least three (3) out of the last five (5) years.
**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:**
+ Master's degree
+ **Salesforce Strategy Designer** and/or **Salesforce User Experience (UX) Designer** certification(s)
+ Salesforce experience
+ Familiarity with developing standards-compliant front-end code for websites, web applications, and mobile solutions using HTML, CSS and JavaScript driven framework, such as Angular or React
+ Familiarity with web design and front-end development using HTML, XHTML, CSS, Java Scripts and jQuery
+ Experience with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS)
+ Exceptional written communication and presentation skills including the ability to engage different stakeholders in developing and implementing designs

The likely salary range for this position is $68,000 - $92,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.

- Specific work experience in the forensic field with experimental design, safety consulting, statistical analysis, and/or evidence examination. Related educational experience will also be considered.
