We are seeking an experienced Estate Planning Lawyer with at least 3 years of progressive experience in estate planning and probate. This lawyer must be capable of managing client matters with autonomy and minimal oversight but is comfortable working within an existing, proven team-based practice model. We do not expect this lawyer to do marketing or business development - we want a hard-working, technical expert for our growing team .
As a family-focused firm with a flexible, hybrid work environment, Sheryll Law P.C. offers a competitive salary and compensation package. We are a team-oriented firm with a focus on providing client-centered, relationship-driven estate planning services to individuals, families, and business owners in the Suffolk County area, the Nassau County area, and throughout the state of New York. We are growth-minded and focused on expanding throughout the state in the near future.

- Open and transparent feedback and communication, and being rewarded for exceeding expectations
The ideal candidate will have significant experience working in law firms that practice estate planning and probate as the primary or only practice area(s), meeting with clients, and involvement in consultation meetings, experience drafting and reviewing estate plans, and conducting signing meetings. The ideal candidate will be a stellar ambassador for the firm in all client interactions.
We are seeking a candidate with progressive experience, not someone who has had a year of experience seven times over. We expect candidates to be able to completely describe the intention and purpose of different complex planning strategies, including tax-based estate planning techniques. The ideal candidate thinks outside the box and can diagnose any poorly drafted or implemented estate plan without issue, and recommend opportunities to remedy the issues.
The ideal candidate will be driven to exceed expectations and contribute to the growth of the firm in a meaningful way. Compensation for the right candidate will include:
- Competitive Salary
- PTO
- 401(k) with generous employer match
- Health insurance (employee premium paid 100%)
- Long-term and short-term disability (employee premium paid 100%)
- Dental and Vision Insurance (employee premium paid 100%)
- Flexible and fun working environment
- Never wear a suit or tie again
$90,000 - $151,000 yearly
Responsibilities:- Being a direct point of contact for clients on the creation and implementation of their respective estate planning strategy in a way that will make the client want to leave a 5-star Google Review with your name in it
- Advising clients about their estate planning options, the pros, and cons of each strategy, and providing a fiduciary recommendation from a "down-to-earth" perspective that clients will understand and appreciate
- Being a mentor to less-experienced team members and an advocate for team member growth and education
- Contributing to the success of the team, even if it means going outside of your job description
- Keeping unneeded drama out of the office and contributing to our solid team culture
- Helping to grow the firm's presence throughout Suffolk and Nassau Counties
- Licensed to practice law in the state of New York (DO NOT APPLY IF YOU ARE NOT LICENSED IN NEW YORK)
- At least 3 years of progressive experience with estate planning and probate matters at a law firm that focuses on estate planning and probate
- The right candidate must be able to report to the office as required
- High emotional intelligence
- Business and tech-savvy, or a quick learner
- Experience and comfort with one-on-one consultation meetings with clients on your own
Sheryll Law, P.C., provides comprehensive, customized, and compassionate estate planning services.
Our mission is clear: we strive to help clients leave behind the legacy they desire. We provide estate planning that goes beyond just legal documents. We educate clients, help them define their goals, and work with them to accomplish those goals with practicality in mind.
We aim to be long-term advisors for clients, helping them maintain and update their estate plans over time. Our goal is to provide clients with ongoing support, making sure their estate plan remains relevant to their needs and life changes.
