Job Purpose:
The Data Integration Software Engineer is the subject matter expert on data integration from external partners into transactional systems and through to the data warehousing and analytical platforms. They work as a team member within the focused software engineering organization. They are responsible for implementing the creation and support of application components and outcomes. The right candidate must be a detail-oriented independent contributor working who can coordinate components. The individual must be able to communicate in written form and manage workload dependencies. Strong analytical and problem solving skills are required.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Data Integration and Development
- Design, develop, and maintain Talend solutions, including jobs, workflows, and data mappings in Talend Studio, Talend Cloud, and Talend Data Preparation, adhering to enterprise standards and best practices. Optimize and monitor ETL processes, ensuring high-quality data and seamless integration across environments.
- Manage Talend tool installations, upgrades, and versioning, ensuring optimal performance. Leverage Talend Cloud to create scalable, cloud-based integration solutions that meet evolving business needs.
- Work closely with business users to understand requirements and translate them into efficient system and data flows, data mappings, and integration solutions to address complex business challenges.
- Apply expertise in data quality, source system analysis, business rules validation, performance tuning, and high-volume data load optimization to ensure efficient, accurate, and scalable data integration solutions. Participate in analysis sessions to understand functional and non-functional requirements. Leverage strong problem-solving skills to translate functional requirements into efficient, optimized data integration solutions.
- Provide mentorship to junior developers on Talend best practices and ETL processes. Work within Agile Scrum environments, managing tasks, optimizing workflows, and delivering incremental updates efficiently.
- BA/BS in Computer Science or related concentration
- Experience with healthcare data formats and HIPAA concerns
- 6+ years’ experience or equivalent with Data Integration / ETL platforms and solutions
- Must have experience with Talend and good to have Java knowledge
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment that requires quick turnaround and quality output
- Experience with Jira for Software Development
- Experience with version control software
- Experience with MS Azure
- Hybrid - NJ Office 2 days per week

As a Data Transformation Specialist / Database Developer, you will play a critical role in modernizing and transforming legacy data tools into more modern, efficient systems, supporting the U.S. Navy Self Defense Systems Division at Picatinny Arsenal, New Jersey. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop solutions that enhance data management, accessibility, and collaboration. Responsibilities:
- Analyze and assess legacy tools, including Excel tracking spreadsheets, MS Access databases, other legacy tools to develop more modern, scalable database solutions.
- Lead the transformation efforts, ensuring data is transitioned into optimal formats for use in relational databases.
- Develop, configure, and manage SharePoint Lists and other data storage solutions to enable team-wide sharing and data access.
- Design and implement front-end applications using tools such as Microsoft PowerApps.
- Design and implement dynamic dashboards with tools such as Microsoft Power BI to visualize data insights.
- Collaborate with internal teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions that enhance data efficiency and accessibility.

Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship
- Active Secret Security Clearance, or the ability to obtain one.

- Minimum bachelor's degree in a field related to computer or information science.

Requirements Qualifications:

**Job Summary**
We are seeking a strategic and execution-focused Functional Lead for Data Transformation to drive data alignment and delivery across a large-scale enterprise transformation initiative. This director-level role will serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring that data requirements are clearly defined, prioritized, and aligned with the organization's long-term data vision. Role Description
+ Lead structured elicitation sessions with business leads and functional SMEs to capture, evaluate, and prioritize data needs across workstreams.
+ Ensure proposed changes meet communication, testing, validation, and sign-off requirements during weekly reviews.
+ Develop and enforce Change Management policies to standardize procedures and authorization levels for various changes.
+ Coordinate program-specific data requirements with the organization's North Star data strategy, ensuring consistency, scalability, and reusability of data assets.
