Job Description
The Vice President and President, WellSpan Evangelical Community Hospital oversees the effective operation of hospital services within the community served as well as the integration of service lines within. Leads the Hospital's senior management and serves the assigned subsidiary boards as appropriate. Participates in leading the integration, coordination, operation and development of the services which we sponsor for the benefit of the patient within the region the Hospital serves. Supports the Hospital in its oversight function and advises System leadership and planning of developments and trends within the acute care facilities region. Positions the Hospital in the region through strong community representation and leadership. Informs the governing body and the medical staff on the overall activities of the Hospital, as well as federal, state and local developments that affect healthcare in the Hospital.
**Duties and Responsibilities**
+ Supports and oversees the effective operation of departments and service lines within the hospital and hospital services throughout the region.
+ Ensures coordination with System patient safety, quality, care management, performance improvement, and patient experience processes. Oversees and is accountable for performance and outcomes in these areas in conjunction with appropriate hospital and system senior leaders.
+ Effectively participates in and assists in ensuring high quality and economic materials and facility management.
+ Actively develops the Hospital aspects of short and long term operational, strategic and financial plans as a component of the System planning process and provides insight into the development of the regional plan for the community the hospital serves. Works closely with the Regional Senior Vice President.
+ Cultivates an environment of performance improvement and an understanding of lean and lean daily management.
+ Ensures compliance with, and has oversight of, regulatory and accreditation standards for the entity.
+ Oversees the successful development and achievement of annual and long-term operating objectives and financial plans.
+ Manages the performance of people in direct reporting positions and ensures implementation and administration of System Human Resource policies and practices.
+ Represents the Hospital on internal committees and external professional or civic organizations so that the hospital is recognized for their focus on community as a partner within the region.

**Qualifications**

**General Summary**
Level I Pharmacists provide prescribed pharmaceuticals and drug information as needed for patient care according to professional standards and practices. The Level I Pharmacist role includes routine distributive and clinical services with time in those domains contingent upon the needs of the facility and department. Level 1 Pharmacists may advance to a Level II Pharmacist position based upon job performance and successful completion of the requirements for advancement established in the Pharmacist Career Ladder Program (PCLP) criteria grids.
**Essential Functions:**
+ Maintains the requirements located in the PCLP Mandatory and Optional Criteria Grids for the Level I Pharmacist.
+ Provides oversight of safe, accurate, and timely medication order verification including clarification of any medication orders with discrepancies prior to dispensing.
+ Provides pharmacy management and oversight of: - Integrity and security of medications in all care locations. - Investigational drugs. - Preparation of injectable chemotherapy. - Medication wastage, returns, and recalls. - Reconciliation of controlled substance wastage. - Compounding of formulations. - Automated dispensing cabinets. - Medication label components and label quality.
+ Provides medication therapy management services in collaboration with other members of the health care team including consultative services pursuant to the facility's available protocols which may include: - Pharmacokinetic evaluation, monitoring, and dosing (initiation and daily follow-up). - Total parenteral nutrition (TPN) consults. - Anticoagulation initiation and follow-up pursuant to a consult. - Renal dose adjustments. - Intravenous to oral conversions.
+ Provides educational services to patients and healthcare providers regarding medication therapy and/or medication safety concerns.
+ Provides medication event prevention, monitoring, and reporting with an increased emphasis on patient safety.
+ Utilizes technology to enhance patient safety by ensuring the proper distribution, monitoring, and use of medications.
+ Adheres to WellSpan Health's medication-use policies and standard work.

Job Summary:
An unlicensed caregiver who maintains a safe and clean environment for patients and Health Care team members. Transport patients with proper technique. Transport equipment, supplies and specimens. Provide environmental sanitation as required.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Environmental support: Transports specimens to appropriate departments per hospital standards. Cleans all flat surfaces and floors in each operating room between surgical procedures. Cleans all used surgical litters, stretchers, and redresses them for use. Available for spot cleaning or assistance with spills of blood, body fluids, or MSDS listed fluids. Provides environmental sanitation as required by charge nurse. Provides as needed environmental sanitation for common areas (e.g., bathrooms, break room).
- Daily Surgical Service: Prepares the operating rooms prior to the first surgical procedure of the day. Trnasports surgical patients to the operating room. Demonstrates the use of good body mechanics and provides for patient safety when transferring, turning lifting, or assisting in positioning patients. Performs other duties as assigned by operating room staff. Provides surgical skin preparation using proper equipment, techniques, using standardized guidelines, or physicians orders as guidance. Communicates with patients in a courteous and helpful manner. Establishes and maintains communication with the health care team.
- Adheres to all infection control policies taking all appropriate precautions to provide a safe environment for patients and all health care team members. Provides direct assistance with the activities required to begin subsequent surgical procedures. a) Return unneeded surgical equipment to its appropriate storage area. b) Obtain required equipment needed for upcoming surgeries. c) Assist with opening sterile surgical supplies. Understands the basic surgical aseptic technique. Transports patients to the operating suite for surgical procedures and to the unit after recovery.
- Ancillary support: Responsible for daily testing and/or recording of results for a variety of mandated requirements (e.g. cidex sticks, refrigerator charts). Responsible for monthly inventory and control of expired surgical supplies. Restocks all common areas maintaining order, cleanliness, and stock levels. Rotates any expiration-dated supplies restocked. Provides transport of supplies and equipment to and from other departments with the hospital.

SUMMARY OF JOB:The Nursing Assistant, under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse, performs the assigned tasks of direct patient care, clerical duties and some housekeeping duties. Acts as a patient/customer advocate and Redeemer Health representative, meeting patient/family needs throughout the hospital experience.
RECRUITMENT REQUIREMENTS:High School Diploma/Equivalency
Previous clinical health care experience is preferred
Must be available for alternating shifts

The ideal candidate will:
• Have a commitment to Touchmark’s values (excellence, teamwork, hospitality, integrity, and compassion), as well as a desire to model these values and to encourage others to be allies, friends and givers
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
• Be a licensed Certified Medication Aide in this state
• Be willing to obtain CPR/First Aid Certification
• Have a genuine interest in caring for elderly residents and working in a geriatric environment
• Provide assistance and emotional support to residents using the Best Friend’s Approach to dementia care
• Possess a willingness to continue learning and improving skills, as well as a commitment to confidentiality
• Be able to maintain patient and tactful composure when dealing with residents, family members, staff members and visitors
