Job Description:
- Prepare materials for scheduled summer/fall events (print out materials, giveaways, signage, etc.)
- Help transport materials to event locations and set-up event signage and materials
- Support staff and volunteers during in-community events.
- Data entry from results of in-community events.
- Work directly with staff and volunteers on the coordination and execution of events.
- Be a self-starter and adaptable, with the ability to work under tight deadlines and take direction.
- Ability to manage one's work across several projects and events.
- Ability to work well with diverse populations, including gender, race, and sexual orientation.
- Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office and other organizational programs.
- Ability to work in an informal team situation that in both in-office and out in community settings.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus, but not a requirement.
- Reliable job attendance and availability under an irregular schedule.
- Must be available to work weekends.
- Effective verbal communication skills.
- Exhibit respect and understanding of others.
- Be able to lift up to 50 lbs and to move boxes, tables, signage.
- Valid driver's license and access to a car.

Event Specialists will work 1-3 days per month. Our Event Specialists are a vital part of the team! They support our Program Leaders and Program Specialists throughout Booster's event days. The successful candidate will assist with setting up and tearing down event equipment, ensuring everything is ready for students, staff, and attendees to enjoy a fun, organized event. POSITION SUMMARY

Whether setting up and breaking down materials, transporting supplies, stocking bars and action stations, or anything in between, the Event Support Expert plays a key role in making our events run flawlessly.
No matter what position you are in, there are a few things that are critical to success – creating a safe workplace, following company policies and procedures, upholding quality standards, and ensuring your uniform, personal appearance, and communications are professional. Event Support Experts will be on their feet and moving around (stand, sit, or walk for an extended time) and taking a hands-on approach to work (move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance and objects weighing in excess of 75 pounds with assistance). Doing all these things well (and other reasonable job duties as requested) is critical – to get it right for our guests and our business each and every time.

Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.

About the Department
Our Event Development and Production (ED&P) department develops and produces NYRR events from concept all the way through execution in a way that fulfills NYRR’s mission. NYRR produces 56 races per year, in addition to the TCS New York City Marathon, and additional events within each race. The events team is responsible for physical site management, volunteer management, hospitality and special events, safety& security, and managing our Warehouse and all race collateral.
About the Position
This position will work in direct support of the warehouse operations at NYRR events, and occasionally as needed within the warehouse operations.
Job Responsibilities:

Meticulous attention to detail in operating in a safe and efficient manner.

Working knowledge of heavy machinery operations is a plus.

Assist with equipment packing, load-in and load-out operations for NYRR events.
Job Requirements:
Experience:

1 year of aggregated experience in a comparable position or role.

Familiarity with types of equipment utilized in outdoor event environments.
Education & Certifications:
- High School or equivalent level of education preferred.
Skills and Attributes:

The Events Support Staff team provides all the set-up and tear-down of events held at the museum. This team is also the on-site support during the full run of the event. The Museum will host an average of three events each week. Types of events include but are not limited to evening dinners, weddings, holiday parties, daytime retreats, board meetings, museum festivals, corporate galas, etc. The size of these events can range from ten guests to one thousand four hundred guests. The Events Support Staff team is an integral part of the success of all events at the Natural History Museum of Utah.
