The Event Technology Manager will be responsible for the proprietary software applications utilized by the Event Solutions Group; Experiences Marketplace, On The Fly, Travel Costing/Accounting/Scheduling/Reports, Event Management System, and Skylog. They will work closely with internal teams and developers to define and deliver application enhancements as well as provide ongoing support to the internal teams that provide customer support for those applications. To be successful in this role they will have a strong development background with experience working in and leading all stages of the development process as well as having outstanding communication skills. They will be working directly with multiple teams to gather and define project requirements, including assessment of data, troubleshooting issues, and enhancing reports as needed. A "Jack of all trades" type personality will be beneficial.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Application Management: Oversee the daily operation and performance of business applications. Ensure applications are running smoothly and efficiently. Plan and implement upgrades or new installations to keep applications up to date.
  • Problem Resolution: Identify and troubleshoot issues with applications; extract and analyze logs from the database to identify and address issues. Work with developers and/or suppliers to resolve technical problems. Implement solutions to prevent future issues.
  • User Support: Understand the needs of users as described by respective business units and ensure applications meet these needs. Provide training and support to users as needed. Develop and maintain user instructions and/or documentation.
  • Coordination and Collaboration: Coordinate with suppliers, Corporate Technology, or business units for updates and maintenance. Work closely with other departments to understand their application needs. Collaborate with developers to ensure system compatibility and integration.
  • Performance Monitoring: Use metrics and analytics to monitor application performance. Identify areas for improvement and implement changes. Ensure applications are secure and data privacy is maintained.
  • API Documentation Review: Analyze and interpret supplier technical (API) documentation and updates, assessing their impact on the Marketplace.
  • Supplier Evaluation: Assess technical specifications for potential new suppliers to ensure compatibility and performance standards.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct rigorous quality testing of enhancements prior to deployment, ensuring a flawless user experience.

What You Would Get To Do:

In this capacity, the ideal candidate would represent the FIRST brand embedded within a Solutions account for a Fintech company. FIRST Solutions is the proprietary strategic meetings management model offered by FIRST, which embeds specialist talent into organizations to provide Content, Creative, Digital Technology, Management & Delivery, and Data & Insights. The Event Technology Manager is responsible for assisting clients in navigating registration websites, supporting the integration of new technology platforms, and managing data, while collaborating closely with the event delivery team. This role involves assisting the events team with the implementation and ongoing support of new technology platforms, as well as leveraging advanced Microsoft Excel skills to manage event information and generate detailed reports.

Your Contributions
  • Advises on user experience of all pre-event and onsite registration for both virtual and in-person events
  • Implementation and project management of event registration websites, app builds and all technological aspects of our events
  • Troubleshoot technical issues
  • Manage client evaluation communications such as save-the-dates, invitations, registration, confirmations, etc.
  • Database management to ensure consistency of information, accurate data, inputting new data when required and generating lists upon request
  • Effectively communicate with internal and external clients via available communication lines; responding to all client queries within the agreed service level agreements
  • Work with Event delivery team on overall program logistics, production, and implementation
  • Coordination of name badges, tent cards, place cards, departure notices, email confirmations, agenda, signage etc. where appropriate
  • Registration desk flow design and set up
  • Lead contact for attendee management and technology vendors including pre-event and during execution
  • Assist in contacting clients for relevant information pertaining to the event
  • Create and distribute post event client surveys
  • Coordinate planning and utilization of mobile apps. May assist with build depending on platform.
  • List manipulation to provide team members with relevant registration data, year on year statistics, and insight into varied elements and event analytics
  • Manage relationships with technology suppliers including the negotiation of contracts
  • Review and manage any relevant third-party vendor invoice reconciliation e.g. badging / attendee tracking etc
  • Provide the client with cost savings / value adds whenever possible
  • Assist with the training of new joiners and mentoring existing team members

What you need to be successful in this role:


Education & Experience

  • University Degree or equivalent experience
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
  • 3–4+ years managing web and mobile app development cycle
  • 3–4+ years meetings and events experience
  • 3+ years project management experience, with demonstrated expertise in managing complex project timelines and deliverables
  • CVENT and/or other event technology platform knowledge required
  • Strong understanding, experience, and knowledge of Virtual and Hybrid projects with platform capabilities and project planning

    Key Responsibilities

    Project Delivery & Execution

    • Manage the end-to-end delivery of event technology solutions for multiple events, ensuring high-quality execution and alignment with customer experience goals.
    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including commercial teams, event directors, and technical partners, to understand event requirements and deliver tailored solutions.
    • Apply Agile methodologies to manage scope, timelines, and deliverables across concurrent workstreams.
    • Ensure platform and partner configuration is completed accurately and on schedule, managing handoffs across functional teams.

    • Act as a connector between business teams, operations and technical specialists to ensure alignment, clarity, and shared ownership of outcomes.
    • Provide clear and timely updates to internal stakeholders and partners, proactively flagging risks or dependencies.
    • Support stakeholder education by sharing platform capabilities, use cases, and insights from previous events.
    • Coordinate with technical leads to ensure successful configuration, testing, and launch of event technologies including registration, exhibitor platforms, attendee engagement tools, and matchmaking systems.
    • Support onsite delivery, including platform setup, IT coordination, and post-event wrap-up and analysis.

    Requirements

    • 4+ years of project management experience, ideally within event technology or live event environments.
    • CAPM or PMP, or equivalent cert is an advantage.
    • Strong working knowledge of the event lifecycle, event operations, and digital platforms used across trade shows and exhibitions.
    • Experience managing multiple projects or events simultaneously, with attention to detail and effective prioritization.

Job Summary : The Venue Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day AV operations and service delivery for their assigned venue under the direction of the Venue Director. Essential Functions: Oversee daily floor operation, including set/strike equipment for each event as required. This can include supervision of non-union, union and contract labor to ensure all set up and strikes are completed according to Pinnacle Live's standards. Operate equipment in a live show setting as needed. Greet guest/client before the event and provide clear instructions on how to operate equipment. Provide continued communication with clients to ensure success of all events. Follow through on all client requests and look for opportunities to enhance the client's event. Complete necessary flow sheets, schedule and purchase orders for equipment delivery and labor, as needed. Ensure all inventory is in good working order and rental condition. Complies and enforces all Company security and safety measures. Continually work toward updating and improving technical skills Maintain accurate client event information into the Company's billing/event order system. Review invoice with client and obtain client's signature on invoice and add-ons. Manage venue inventory and location of equipment to ensure the inventory is secure from theft and/or damage. Ensure any lost, stolen, or damaged equipment is immediately reported to their supervisor. Ensure all Company occupied areas are clean, organized and up to Company standards. Perform other duties as assigned. Education & Experience: High School diploma, GED or equivalent. Two (2) to three (3) years' prior experience in the audio visual and/or hospitality industry. Two (2) years' advanced audio and visual experience in a theatrical or live event environment. Required Skills & Knowledge: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
