In this role, you will play a key part in maintaining and enhancing the content of the Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) Exam and its preparatory materials, including the Fraud Examiners Manual, CFE Exam Prep Course, Review Course, Flashcards, and Study Guide.

Essential Functions

  • Provides support related to the creation, revision, and ongoing maintenance of the CFE Exam, Fraud Examiners Manual, CFE Exam Prep Course, and other study tools.
  • Updates CFE Exam product content accurately and consistently across all item banking software and content management systems.
  • Formats and finalizes CFE Exam-related products.
  • Provides support for new initiatives and projects related to the CFE Exam and its preparatory materials.
  • Conducts technology-related testing and other quality assurance work to ensure that products are built correctly and are error-free.
  • Assists with quality assurance, editing, proofreading, and writing tasks, as needed.
  • Helps with administrative tasks related to the Exam Development Committee.
  • Assists with security investigations related to theft of intellectual property.
  • Develops, maintains, and promotes effective internal and external relationships and works collaboratively with other ACFE employees and members.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Requirements

  • 13 years of previous editorial, quality assurance, assessment, and/or publishing experience required.
  • Four years of High School resulting in a diploma or GED required; BA/BS degree in English, Communication, Education, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Basic web/HTML and data inputting knowledge preferred.
  • Experience using item banking software and exam delivery platforms a plus.
  • Familiarity with Chicago Manual Style preferred and a thorough understanding of grammar, style, and current English usage.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong proofreading, editing, and grammar skills.
  • Proven skills in organizing work, attending to detail, managing time effectively, and handling multiple tasks in a timely manner.
  • Skilled in collaborating with internal and external resources.

Reporting to the Director of Disability Service (DS), the Testing Coordinator assists in maintaining an accessible and inclusive testing environment for students with disabilities. The Testing Coordinator is responsible for monitoring the integrity of the testing center and all aspects of the testing process through coordination of arrangements with students, professors, and the DS staff. This includes scheduling and proctoring exams as well as any other test coordination as necessary. Additionally, this position assists with other duties within the DS office including but not limited to assisting other staff with the coordination of accommodations.

Description

The primary purpose of the Senior Testing Coordinator is to provide testing support services for faculty, students, military personnel, and the community. This position will provide guidance, routine direction, daily supervision, training, and advisement to testing center personnel (full-time testing coordinator(s), temporary staff, and graduate/undergraduate student workers) regarding testing policies, procedures, and expected outcomes. Provide administrative support to the Director Testing Services.
Examples of Duties

  • Administer paper/pencil, computer-based, and internet-based tests on weekdays, Saturdays and evenings as needed on campus.
  • Primary responsibility for overseeing Teacher Certification-related exams, such as the Praxis exam.
  • Oversee HiSET rosters, test material, deposits, staff training and arrangements for paper-pencil and online HiSET test administration.
  • Act as primary liaison between testing site, special program coordinators, and the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education offices.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of Adult Education and Literacy programs and committees.
  • Notify Director of status of assessment preparations, registration, orders, test staff schedule, and/or problems on test day.
  • Assist in-person, office email and telephone customers to determine needs.
  • Respond to all constituents by either answering/providing desired information or by referring them to the appropriate personnel/office.
  • Respond to and/or take telephone messages and email messages, including ensuring all mail is received by the appropriate person. Respond verbally or in writing to routine inquiries and complex inquiries.
  • Provide accurate information regarding test registration, test dates, and score reporting processes.
  • Register and bill and/or collect test administrative fees from students for all tests as needed.
  • Coordinate and manage the distribution, data entry, and filing of test score reports.
  • Train and monitor student employee(s) and graduate students in performing receptionist and/or clerical duties.
  • Maintain and prepare end of year test log report to director, Academic Affairs, Institutional Research and other offices as needed.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

9. Track annually the progress of students who have failed to achieve the student success initiative requirements including summer STAAR administration.

10. Work closely with campus PEIMS, Bilingual and Special Education personnel to stay updated on current student codes for demographics.

11. Perform duties as STAAR EOC Campus Coordinator/Trainer.

12. Know, utilize, and apply Texas Education Code and Texas Administrative Code as it applies to assessment and maintain proper documentation.

13. Observe all State and Federal Laws regarding student confidentiality.

14. Monitor the execution of local, state, federal, and national assessments as per administrative code.

15. Provide student assessment history documentation to the Campus Graduation Committee (CGC) as per Senate Bill.

16. Keep informed of and comply with local, state, federal, and national school regulations and policies for special education, 504, LPAC, and RTI.

ASSESSMENT RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

17. Determine eligibility for student participation in PSAT/NMSQT, SAT School Day, STAAR EOC (including benchmarks/local assessment and retest administrations), TELPAS, STAAR Alternate 2, Advanced Placement (AP) and International Baccalaureate (IB) using a variety of instruments and data sources.

18. Strategize, organize, and implement assessment procedures relevant to the administration of each assessment as required by the appropriate overseeing agency.

19. Receive referrals from counselors for college readiness, dual enrollment, and STC academies in order to provide Texas Success Initiative (TSI) assessment.

20. Implement TSI plan according to student needs.

21. Follow McAllen ISD customer service standards.

Position Summary

Manage logistical aspects of all on-campus standardized testing, both digital and paper-based.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Logistical Coordination
  • Order all standardized tests given in Upper, Middle, and Lower School
  • Coordinate with student services staff to ensure all appropriate students receive testing accommodations
  • Coordinate with appropriate staff, including the Business Office, to ensure appropriate invoicing for AP exams.
  • Schedule testing rooms
  • Hire/train proctors
  • Organize and securely maintain all testing materials
  • Set up testing rooms
  • Ensure technological success: microphones, clocks, wireless boosters, backup devices, extension cords, power banks, and IT staff on call.
  • Maintain knowledge of and adhere to all standardized testing agency guidelines.
  • As needed, assist as a proctor for on-site special testing (ACT, SAT)
  • Provide testing data to the Upper School Academic Dean or other academic offices as requested for analysis.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in educational administration, event coordination, or a similar logistical management role. Specific experience with standardized testing environments (ACT, SAT, AP exams, CTP/ERB) is highly desirable.
Per the College Board: An individual cannot serve as a test coordinator in the year an immediate family or household member may be taking a College Board test (PSAT, SAT, AP exam) at the school where the coordinator works or at any other school. Immediate family includes one's parents, siblings, children, grandparents,and spouse. This applies even if they don't reside in the same household. A test coordinator cannot be employed part-time or full-time at a test preparation company or participate in any coaching activity that addresses the content of secure College Board tests.

  • Exceptional organizational skills: Ability to meticulously plan, execute, and oversee multiple tasks simultaneously, ensuring all details are accounted for.
  • Time management: Proven ability to meet deadlines and manage a demanding schedule, often with tight turnarounds.
  • Attention to detail: Critical for ensuring compliance with testing agency guidelines; preventing errors in room setup, materials, and technology; and working with families to resolve testing conflicts or outline options for use of testing accommodations.
  • Problem-solving: Aptitude for quickly identifying and resolving unexpected issues that may arise during testing, such as technological glitches or proctoring needs.
  • Resource management: Skill in efficiently allocating and utilizing resources, including rooms, materials, and volunteers.
  • Technological proficiency: Comfort and familiarity with various AV equipment (microphones, clocks), wireless networks, and general troubleshooting of electronic devices; ability to assist students with account login problems.
  • Basic IT knowledge: Ability to coordinate with IT staff and understand basic network and device requirements for testing.
  • Data management: Competence in organizing and providing testing data; advanced skills in Excel and/or Google Sheets and functionality within these applications; experience in educational management systems preferred.
  • Strong communication skills: Clear and concise communication, both written and verbal, for coordinating with proctors, staff, students, parents, and external agencies.
  • Training and leadership: Ability to effectively train and guide proctors, ensuring they understand their roles and responsibilities.
  • Collaboration: Skill in working effectively with registrar, academic deans, and other school personnel.
  • Professionalism: Maintaining a calm and composed demeanor, especially during high-pressure testing periods.
  • Knowledge of standardized testing protocols: In-depth understanding of guidelines and regulations set by testing agencies like ACT and the College Board.
  • Adherence to policies: Strict commitment and adherence to confidentiality norms and to following established procedures and guidelines.
Working Conditions and Environment
  • Intermittently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 25 pounds.
  • Continuously see, sit, balance, grasp, and have repetitive use of arms, wrists, hands, and fingers; and some fine finger dexterity.
  • Frequently talk and hear.
  • Intermittently stand, stoop, bend, twist, crouch, kneel, crawl, walk, climb stairs, step stools and ladders, operate foot and hand controls, squeeze, and reach above shoulders.
  • Exposure to dust, chemicals, fumes, flammables, grease, dirt, stacked materials, electrical equipment, machinery, low to medium noise levels, and moderate indoor heat and cold temperatures.
