Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Acquire tools needed for daily operations
- Measure distances from grade stakes, drive stakes, and stretch tight line
- Bolt, nail, align, and block up under forms
- Signal operators of construction equipment to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery to conform to grade specifications
- Level earth to fine grade specifications
- Mix concrete
- Smooth and finishes freshly poured cement or concrete
- Position, join, align, and seal pipe sections
- Erect scaffolding, shoring, and braces
- Pipe Duties:
- Get tools needed for daily operations
- Get job set up for daily function such as setting up a pipe laser
- Operate a Wacker and jumping jack to perform backfilling duties
- Use cut saws to make pipe proper length
- Prep pipe for connection before pipe gets lowered
- Shoot grades and checks grades using laser or conventional methods
- Perform connection of pipe work
- Responsible for checking for proper pipe slope
- Prep structures for installation
Qualifications
Required Skills, Education, and Experience
- One year of relevant heavy highway construction experience
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered
- Experienced in underground utilities such as storm sewer, sanitary sewer, water main, and structures
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Problem solving
- Ability to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as needed
- Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)
Preferred Skills, Education, and Experience
- Three years of related experience and/or training
- OSHA or other relevant safety certifications

Join our team in the Relay division, where you will work outdoors on a conveyor line sorting plates to be resold. You will be trained to identify and sort 12 different types of plates and will also work on the string line, ensuring rail tracks are within specified measurements. This role offers cross-training opportunities in multiple areas of the division.
**Responsibilities**
+ Work on a conveyor line to check and sort plates for resale.
+ Identify and sort 12 different types of plates.
+ Measure rail tracks with a string to ensure bends are within 3/4ths of an inch.
+ Participate in cross-training across the relay division.
+ Perform duties that involve heavy lifting and standing for extended periods.
**Essential Skills**
+ Reliability and a strong willingness to learn.
+ Ability to lift between 18-60 lbs comfortably.
+ Comfortable standing on feet for long periods.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Experience working outdoors is preferred.
+ Experience performing quality inspections is a plus.
