About The Opporunity/Work

The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for the management of the lifecycle of the Agencys recruitment and pre-hire onboarding experience spanning the engagement of potential candidates for open positions through to the first day of employment. They will use Agency recruitment tools, incentives, networking, and other available avenues to source and place candidates to Agency requisitions.

The Talent Acquisition Specialist will assure best practices in engagement and promoting best in class experience for both active and passive candidates at all touchpoints in the lifecycle process. The Talent Acquisition Specialist will serve as a liaison between hiring managers and candidates, assisting the hiring managers by understanding the position, requirements, and qualifications, conferring and making recommendations, suggestions to strengthen the requisition/posting creation and actual recruitment initiatives in the candidate search. They will assist in representing the Agency brand as an employer of choice, promote the Agencys unique culture, and effectively convey Oakland Family Services employee value proposition in all communications. The Talent Acquisition Specialist will excel at candidate relationship management by creating a positive candidate experience , courting leads, and building long-term relationships. The Talent Acquisition Specialist reports to the Director of Human Resources.

  • In partnership with the Director of Human Resources and Executive Leadership, develop effective and strategic recruitment plans, incentives (employee referral program, new hire signing incentives, communications, contest, career fairs, etc.), and other initiatives to attract and place qualified applicants, as well as to develop a candidate pool for all Agency positions.
  • Ascertain recruitment requirements and strategy by conferring and meeting with hiring managers regularly throughout a requisitions lifecycle. Develop a strong understanding of the position description, requirements and qualifications and make suggestions for a strategic recruitment plan.
  • Identify, engage with, and screen candidates for all Agency positions through various platforms such as email, ADP Workforce Now, Linked In, phone calls, etc.

  • Complete initial screenings using standardized screening techniques. Assess the skills, qualifications, and experience of potential candidates to understand if they are a good fit for the position and with the Agency.
  • Assist with interview scheduling and interview setup and maintain communications through the interview process and during the pre-hire onboarding process in a manner that ensures an optimal candidate experience.
  • Source active and passive applicants, as well as interns, through various methods including cost-effective advertising, sponsored campaigns, social media networking, job boards, career fairs, community partner opportunities (work study groups, colleges and universities, trade schools, etc.) and job boards.
  • Organize and attend job fairs and recruitment events to build a strong candidate pipeline.

Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications team to promote social media job boosts, posts and shares, email blasts and direct marketing campaigns.
  • In partnership with other team members, will assist with the development of a clear employee brand and employee value proposition strategy and implement within the recruitment and talent acquisition process.
  • Serve as an ambassador of the Agency and speak/share the mission, vision, culture, operating principals, values, benefits, history, and programs (continuum of care) to promote/incentivize the benefits of working at Oakland Family Services to represent the Agency as an employer of choice.

About the Role

You will be the primary point of contact for new candidates applying to roles at KD Care. From sourcing and screening to interviews and credential verification, you’ll manage the full recruitment process. Your role is essential to keeping our hiring engine running and ensuring the best candidates join our mission-driven team.

Key Responsibilities

Own full-cycle recruitment for clinical and admin roles (focus on BCBAs, RBTs, support staff)

Post and manage job listings across external sites and social platforms

Screen incoming applicants within 1 business day

Source passive candidates via databases, job boards, social media, and networking

Conduct virtual interviews using our structured guides

Verify candidate credentials (e.g., BACB certifications, licenses)

Track all communication and progress in our Applicant Tracking System (ATS)

Coordinate with clinical and admin leads to forecast hiring needs

Respond to candidate questions about roles, benefits, and hiring process

Support occasional HR-related audits and documentation clean-up

Maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism in all recruitment processes

Qualifications

2+ years of experience as a full-desk recruiter or talent acquisition specialist

Experience recruiting in ABA is highly preferred (RBTs, BCBAs, etc.)

Familiarity with credentialing/licensing requirements for ABA professionals

Comfortable with high-volume outreach (cold calls, texts, emails, LinkedIn)

Strong organizational and time management skills

Excellent written and verbal communication

Experience using ATS or CRM platforms

Proficient in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace

The Talent Acquisition Specialist will be responsible for full life cycle recruiting in key markets. This will be a hands-on role responsible for full cycle recruiting, employee engagement, and assisting with training. In addition, the Talent Acquisitions Specialist will support recruiting activities for new client locations. Travel required.

Talent Acquisition Specialist Responsibilities:

• Build applicant pipeline by researching and contacting community services, local colleges, and networking within markets.

• Determine the hiring needs of the area by establishing staffing requirements through consultation with field management and workforce scheduling.

• Utilize technology and social media networking tools as well as traditional sourcing techniques. to source the best candidates.

• Understand and be knowledgeable of talent acquisition trends and changes through research, relying heavily on data, metrics, and industry best practices in coordinating recruitment efforts.

• Ensure delivery of prompt and effective communications with candidates & workforce scheduling throughout the full cycle recruiting process

• Participate in full cycle employment engagement from applicant through employee by ensuring appropriate communications, training and onboarding occur prior to working a schedule. Further engage in regular interactions with employees to access engagement and possible referral opportunities.

• Utilize applicant tracking system to ensure all data is updated throughout the interview and hiring process.

• Collaborate effectively with human resources to ensure onboarding, compliance, and employee records are accurate at the time of hire.

• Participate in other duties as assigned.

Talent Acquisition Specialist Qualifications:

• The ideal candidate will have 5+ years' experience as an Hourly Recruiter or Retail Store Manager

• Bachelor's Degree preferred.

• Must be trustworthy, have a high sense of integrity, be customer-centric, results-driven and be agile and open to change.

• Ability to work independently in an office environment and produce sustainable results with minimal supervision.

• Working knowledge of applicant tracking and HRIS systems (Kronos/UKG Ready will be especially helpful) and PC skills in MS Office applications

• A proven career history, with no more than three jobs in the last six years.

• Must be available to travel.

• Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills

• Must be able to successfully complete a drug and thorough background check
