THE OPPORTUNITY
The Fred Hollows Foundation (FHF) is seeking an exceptional Senior Project Director to lead a 2-year global eye health initiative with significant project implementation across Cambodia and Ethiopia.
This role is tasked with engaging our country and global teams facilitate the end to end delivery of the project, from strategy to execution, ensuring strong outcomes at both country and global levels.
The project focuses on advancing eye health systems through innovative service delivery models and data integration, with a goal of scaling impact, strengthening partnerships, and contributing to global health knowledge. You will work closely with sector stakeholders, country-based program managers, technical experts, and donor representatives, serving as the lead contact point for strategic oversight and engagement.
This role acts as the nexus for all the key stakeholders who deliver this work: championing locally led development and engaging the donor meaningfully in our life changing work.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Project Leadership
- Hold full accountability for the successful delivery of the project, ensuring strategic alignment, operational excellence, and impact.
- Oversee programmatic outputs and outcomes at the country level via in-country teams, providing leadership, troubleshooting, and support.
- Drive global programmatic outcomes, with a specific focus on data systems and evidence-based approaches to improve eye health service delivery.
- Ensure compliance with donor requirements, including timelines, budgets, procurement, and policy adherence.
- Lead development of comprehensive, high-quality donor reports, ensuring alignment with both technical milestones and narrative impact stories.
Donor Engagement
- Act as the primary liaison with the donor in collaboration with the Head of FHF USA, including relationship management, reporting, strategic engagement, and coordination of post-grant planning.
Learning, Evidence & Impact
- In collaboration with Country Managers lead the generation, synthesis, and dissemination of project learnings, including data-driven insights, evaluations, and case studies.
- Coordinate with MEL teams to articulate impact in ways that influence internal strategies and external stakeholders.
- Champion the creation of communications materials, peer-reviewed publications, and knowledge products that showcase the projects achievements.
Sector & Global Engagement
- Represent the project and FHF at global and regional eye health data innovation and other forums.
- Build strategic relationships to support sector-level engagement and systems strengthening in target geographies.
Collaboration & Technical Integration
- Work closely with the FHF global technical teams to receive and integrate high-quality guidance, support, and best practices.
- Facilitate cross-team coordination to ensure technical coherence across countries and alignment with global health standards.
FHF USALeadership & Grant Management Support
- Work closely with the Head of FHF USA in strategic donor engagement and relationship management, providing regular updates, strategic insights, and contributing to thought leadership.
- Support the Head of FHF USA in grant management, compliance and reporting requirements for the donor and the FHF USA Board of Directors.
WHAT YOULL NEED TO SUCCEED
- Extensive senior-level leadership experience in global health, international development, or a related field.
- Demonstrated success at a Director level in managing complex, multi-country health or development programs, ideally with large global health foundations and/or institutional donors (e.g., USAID, FCDO, DFAT).
- Advanced degree (MPH, MPA, MBA, or related) in international development, global health, public administration, or policy or equivalent professional experience
- Proven track record of engaging with multiple stakeholder groups and driving system-level change in LMIC settings.
- Strong understanding of health data systems and evidence-driven program design, implementation, and evaluation.
- Skilled communicator and strategic thinker with the ability to synthesize complex ideas into compelling narratives and reports.
- Experience in global advocacy, donor engagement, and post-grant strategic planning.
- Cross-cultural fluency and ability to lead distributed teams in high-pressure, high-impact environments.
- International development experience in Ethiopia or Cambodia, particularly with current relationships in the health, government and development sectors, will be an advantage.

**Duties & Responsibilities**
+ Leads a team responsible for the development of proactive risk management strategies for a portfolio of investigational products within Eye Health on global level (generally between 3 and 10 compounds and/or projects). + May support or lead strategic projects within Experimental Medicine

**Requirements**

Qualifications
A minimum of bachelor’s degree is required, with a major in Finance, Accounting, Business analytics or Economics. CPA, CMA, CGMA or MBA preferred.

**Responsibilities:**
The VP/GM, Bausch + Lomb U.S. Vision Care will provide leadership, strategic direction, and overall management to ensure revenue, market share and profitability objectives are met.
