TIG Welder/Fabricator Job Summary:
Fast-paced company looking for experience in the fabrication of structural steel, with specific experience in layout, welding, and fabricating stainless steel, aluminum, and carbon steel.
TIG Welder/ Fabricator Responsibilities:
- Measures and marks reference points using a tape measure for layout
- Loads, stacks, and transports stock, tools, and work in process by hand or crane
- Cleans and grinds metal prior to fabricating, welding, painting, or shipping
- Picks up and removes scrap from work areas
- Cleans work area, machines, tools, and equipment
- Operates overhead cranes & HILO
Schedule:
- 1st shift - 5:00am-3:30pm, Monday-Friday (Overtime as needed)
Pay: $20-25/hr

TIG Welder/Fabricator Qualifications:
- Aluminum (TIG) skills
- Able to lift 50 pounds
- The ability to read and understand blueprints
- Motivated, detail-oriented, and a team player
- Good reading and math skills required
- Strong analytical skills, mechanical aptitude, and manual dexterity are
- Able to read, write, and speak English
- Self-starter who can work with minimal or little supervision

Apprentice Welder, Heavy Fabrication

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist certified welders in fabricating and assembling metal structures and components according to blueprints and specifications.
- Learn and practice various welding techniques, including Stick (SMAW), MIG (GMAW), and TIG (GTAW), on different types of metals.
- Prepare metal surfaces for welding by cleaning, grinding, and deburring.
- Operate welding equipment safely and efficiently, ensuring all safety protocols are followed.
- Read and interpret welding symbols, blueprints, and technical drawings.
- Perform basic welding tasks under direct supervision, gradually increasing complexity and autonomy as skills develop.
- Inspect welds for quality and adherence to standards, using various measurement and testing tools.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring proper storage and care of tools and equipment.
- Participate actively in all training sessions, workshops, and skill development programs.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- A strong mechanical aptitude and a genuine interest in welding and metal fabrication.
- Ability to read and understand basic blueprints and technical instructions.
- Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Willingness to learn and follow instructions meticulously.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Must be able to lift and move heavy materials and stand for extended periods.
- Previous exposure to welding or metalworking through vocational training or personal projects is a plus.
- Commitment to completing the full apprenticeship program and obtaining relevant certifications.
