**What You Will Do** :

+ Track project expenses and timelines to plan and budget.
+ Lead cross-functional and cross-site teams including engineering, maintenance, quality, and production.
+ Develop equipment, systems, processes, and procedures for Pueblo facility and other Carbon Operation sites.

Catalent Pharma Solutions is hiring a Facilities Engineer. The Facilities Engineer is responsible for the coordination and execution of preventative and routine maintenance of facilities, including GMP manufacturing suites, laboratory space, and related equipment.

**The Role:**
+ Ensure GMP and non-GMP Heating, Ventilation, and Air conditioning (HVAC) are operational (heat pumps, air handlers, exhaust fans, air compressors, pumps, chillers, water systems, laboratory gas systems, electrical equipment, generators, fire systems, and associated equipment and systems)
+ Ensures reliable, efficient, and sustained operation of the facility and all building mechanical equipment. Drive/improve (infrastructure, utilities), availability, reliability, and efficiency. Troubleshoot and establish root causes for failures and underperformance of all building mechanical equipment
+ Provides direct input to Siemens Desigo building management system (BMS)/ environmental monitoring system (EMS) system. Monitor and respond to environmental monitoring system (EMS) alerts and alarms as necessary
+ Perform and manage day-to-day work tasks using internal work order system and Blue Mountain (BMRAM). Ability to manage competing priorities and maintain timelines. Respond to facilities emergencies and immediate response requests during normal and after normal business hours
+ Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, GMP, and internal procedures at all times. Provide input and author SOPs, Validation Protocols, Deviations, CAPAs, and other GMP documentation
+ Perform, manage, and train staff for GMP facilities maintenance and repairs with minimal-to-no supervision. Support current and future site goal objectives, site initiatives, and facility capital projects, including installation, commissioning, and turnover of new equipment and systems
+ Lead and coordinate site shutdowns and general repair of utilities through small projects. Independently manage and coordinate outside contractors and vendors for maintenance, repairs, calibration/validation, and small projects. Manage and coordinate property management company responsibilities and communications
+ Other duties as assigned
**The Candidate:**
+ An active driver's license is required to complete essential job functions
+ A High School Diploma/GED is required, with an Associate's Degree, Bachelor's Degree, or trade school certificate highly preferred
+ Must have at least seven (7) years of experience in facilities with expertise in HVAC systems, as well as general knowledge of plumbing, electrical, lighting systems, and basic building trades/construction techniques, methods, and practices
+ Must have at least three (3) years of GMP industry experience
+ Strong knowledge of commercial building and HVAC, plumbing, and electrical design, operation, and maintenance. Experience in clean rooms, Reverse Osmosis (RO), Deionized Water (DI), Heating, Ventilation, and Air conditioning (HVAC) and other systems used to support a regulated manufacturing environment
+ Experience and familiarity with air compressors, pumps, chillers, water systems, electrical equipment, generators, fire systems, and associated equipment and systems
+ Experience with Building Management System (BMS) experience and Microsoft office products. Good understanding of the building mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) design, construction, and contracting processes. Experience and familiarity with building management system design and operations

**Pay:**
+ The anticipated salary range for this role in San Diego, CA is $80,000 to $85,000 annually. **JOB PURPOSE:**
Oversee assigned staff and responsibility areas related to facilities management or building/equipment maintenance. Participate in department/unit strategic management.
**CORE DUTIES*:**
+ Under the general direction of theDirector, Maintenance Operations, the Facilities Engineer provides operational and technical support for all after-hours maintenance operations tasks including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, commercial kitchens and residential appliance maintenance, Project Crew work, and contracted services operations.
+ Requires effective communication, technical leadership, work coordination, prioritization and direction in the maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and operations of building systems and equipment; develops strategic plans to further improve the effectiveness of the Maintenance Operations group after-hours services.
+ Assist all staff with troubleshooting, repair guidance, technical issues including in-field visits to sites to determine repair needs.
+ Coordinate after-hours contracted building systems repair projects as assigned.
+ Assist withtroubleshooting/problem solving for issues with building mechanical, electrical, plumbing systems and commercial food serviceequipment - including refrigeration systems, commercial cooking equipment, commercial dishwashing equipment - ensuring a high level of repair work quality through work quality checks.
+ Function as the primary point of contact for after-hours communication for Maintenance Operations internally within MCP and with campus partners
+ Monitor incoming radio service calls providing work task assignment coordination assistance as needed; ensure timely response to service calls and performance of assigned preventive maintenance tasks; assist with coordination of emergency response work.
+ Seamlessly coordinates after-hours maintenance work with shop Assistant Directors, Contracted Service Managers, stakeholders throughout R&DE.
+ Clarify and resolve problems spanning multiple areas or technical fields and/oroversee or develop programs within assigned facilities.
+ Authorize the use of department purchasing card/ensuring compliance for after-hours emergency parts and supplies purchases.
+ Manage and/or develop budget for areas of responsibility, including staffing, maintenance, contracts, etc.
+ Manage ongoing service contracts as applicable.
+ Participate in department/unit strategic management, including making recommendations involving short-term planning for facility-type projects and for longer-range programs/projects; providing input into long-range financial, budgeting, and programmatic planning and development; providing input into the development of policies and procedures; interpret and manage policies and procedures for assigned area.
+ Oversee and/or monitor project activities; ensure integration with larger unit goals; coordinate with staff, subcontractors, and/or vendors.
+ Functions as the on-site management presence for all after-hours Maintenance Operations staff.
+ Effectively coordinates emergency situations, repair projects with Maintenance Operations colleagues, the Duty Supervisor and Emergency Response Supervisor program participants; coordinates with senior management as needed.
+ Completes and sends after-hours activity reports out as directed.
+ Manages the Duty Supervisor Program.
**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:**
**Education & Experience:**
Bachelor's degree in engineering or other appropriate technical area, or combination of technical education, training, and experience. Two or more years of experience managing facilities operations and maintenance staff in an environment with a variety of building types (administrative offices, classrooms, laboratories, residential & dining facilities, auditoriums, etc.).
**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:**
+ Knowledge of environmental and safety rules, regulations, and policies. Ability to conduct job site inspections to ensure compliance.
