• Drive research, development, and launch of new products.
• Build products from existing ideas and help develop new ideas based on industry research and vendor discussions.
• Work closely with vendors to determine appropriate materials and to meet design needs.
• Stay abreast of trends, competitor offerings, and what is selling currently in the women's clothing market.
• Research potential vendors and negotiate product orders and deliveries.
• Develop and maintain spreadsheets with vendor tracking - current offerings, pricing, styles, categories, doorbuster items, and responsiveness.
• Coordinate communication with the Warehouse Receiving Team to ensure that product is accurately and timely received and processed.
• Oversee the Vendor Relations Process, including maintaining proactive and professional communication with vendors to collect credits, refunds, or replacements for damaged products.
• Conduct quality assurance to establish rigorous quality standards.
• Attend clothing fairs and vendors shows to develop and strengthen vendor relationships and place product orders a few times a year.
• Assist with additional tasks as needed.

• A Bachelor's degree in Apparel, Buying, Merchandising, Business, or a related field.
• Experience in product development is preferred even if only an internship.
• An analytical and data-driven background balanced with an understanding of consumer behavior.
• Knowledge of women's apparel, trends, and fashion.
• Ability to work within a team and work on your own with minimal supervision.
• Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with Vendors via multiple channels (i.e. phone, email, etc.).
• Strong attention to detail, a proactive approach to getting things done, and an overall curiosity and desire to lear

• Conduct market research to recognize and analyze current fashion trends and consumer preferences while ensuring products are consistent with fashion/market trends as well as overall business strategy.
• Communicate point of view clearly through mood boards and concept tears
• Create sketch pages with construction detail callouts for the tech design team.
• Create tech packs in BeProduct with style and fabric specifications.
• Identify new fabric needs that are focused and meaningful to the assortment.
• Comment on and approve vendor submissions, such as lab dips, trims, and bulk fabrics. Track and manage approvals.
• Communicate ongoing development details to internal partners (i.e., Production, Tech, Merchants) and vendors, ensuring all communication is flowing to the correct people
• Track and organize development samples, ensuring they are delivered within required timelines and seamlessly passed off to key parties
• Work with vendors and design to keep projects running smoothly and on time
• Assist with managing the design process from concept to final product
• Maintain a high level of attention to detail and ensure design quality is consistent
• Implement feedback and make necessary revisions to designs
• Assist with other design-related tasks and projects as needed

• Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or a related field.
• 2-3 years of design experience with strong product development experience across different product categories in women's wear.
• Understanding of trends and ability to forecast trends
• Fabric knowledge and garment construction
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop is a must.
• Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Position Summary:

The Design Assistant supports the creation and development of compelling design and trend concepts aligned with the brand vision and responsive to evolving market demands. This role collaborates closely with the Design and Product Development teams to ensure timely execution of seasonal collections, from concept development to sample review and data management.

Salary Range: $45,000-$50,000

• Assists designer in creating original concepts that encompass style, color, and print to ensure customer-focused offerings that meet fashion and quality requirements consistent with the brand profile

As the Sales Floor Assistant, you are accountable for driving customer service to achieve profitable sales growth by leading and engaging associates, managing company merchandise standards and execution, training and developing associates and executing sales building programs. Primary responsibilities include:

• Customer Service & Sales: Models and holds team accountable for delivering outstanding customer service. Actively listens to customer issues to resolve problems. Demonstrates WORTH behaviors consistently. Partners with other team members when additional support is needed.
• Door to Floor / Restock / RFID & Inventory: Works with Merchandise Supervisor to plan upcoming merchandise placement plans. Contributes to merchandise receipt and reverse logistics processes. Assists with the execution of inventory processes (cycle counts, system uploads, stock ledger, Radio Frequency Identification Scans, etc.). Contributes to the Shoe on Display restocking process, including mismates and stockroom organization. Contributes to the restock program to identify replenishment opportunities.
• SET / Visual / Environment: Assists with the SET processes by planning floor moves, placing graphics, and executing visual detailing based on company guidance. Identifies sell-through opportunities and remerchandise the selling floor to increase rate of sale. Helps oversee and maintain all fitting room and sales floor recovery processes to ensure a clean and organized store environment. Contributes to the execution of visual elements to support merchandising statements. Responsible for stockroom maintenance.
• Omnichannel (SVG 2-3 only): Assists with the jcp.com process including jcp.com orders and aged and undelivered orders/returns as needed. Contributes to Buy Online Pick Up In Store and Ship from Store processes as needed.
• General Operations: Contributes to Merchandise Transfer Out (MTO), Return to Vendor and Return to Warehouse activities. Assists with the Defective MTO (DMTO) process ensuring proper and timely execution of all DMTO's to ensure integrity of inventory and prevent shrink. Participates in annual inventory processes.

Performance standards include supporting company shrink and safety initiatives and consistently meeting established performance standards for the role, including (but not limited to) product and service sales, customer service, profit, productivity, and attendance.
